It's a strange case. It could be that I am just biased but it's even stranger to me because it seems like it should be a no brainer but it goes against all of these general tenets.

I think that rule needs to be reexamined. It just feels silly. Yea, its exactly that. Stephensen was pump faked, the basketball play is one dribble for a wide open jumper, instead Wade just jumped up and to the right for some mild contact. Like I said, just as dangerous as when the defender does it, except both are fouls on the defense!

If Indiana can't beat Miami with no Andersen, they should die a fiery death.

The Stephenson foul is ULTRA common, like 100% of times anyone gets pump faked in the NBA that foul happens. He left his feet, shooter just jumps into him to 'draw the foul' and get a free shot at an And 1, at worst some FTs. It wasn't a little leg kick, it was the whole 'purposefully jump into this guy that just jumped in the air in front of me' thing that happens all the time and always looks wonky as fuck.

I still see it called all the time, so clearly refs haven't started emphasizing/enforcing any change to this yet. As for this game, just when Indiana looks like they're making a little run to perhaps make it a workable 4th quarter deficit, Lebron drops a contested bucket, and then throws down an uncalled +1(George clearly slapped his arm). Indiana getting decent bench play, and Stephenson is an absolute ghost on the court. Was he secretly shit talking himself? Because LeBron is clearly not(nor was he ever going to be) rattled.

Half hoping they blow this team up. So boring to watch but take up a big chunk of the postseason before failing vs miami again

Absolutely, the rule has been changed, it is funny how officials keep ignoring it. They did make it look like they tried to enforce it back then, mainly on Pierce (that's how I remember) I think it was 2 years ago though.

The amount of random contested jumpers, attempted isos by dudes with average at best ball handling skills, number of open men not passed to, and dribbles to the sideline for a jumper out of the pick and roll was just disgusting. Indiana showed in all games this series that if they have the advantage in the post but rely on shitty Stephenson/Hill/George Isos and bad pick and rolls instead.
