Wade: Lance, you know there's no drug testing in the playoffs, right?

Do you think a package of Klay+Lee+Barnes gets it done for Love + (insert contract Minny wants to dump)?

Do you think a package of Klay+Lee+Barnes gets it done for Love + (insert contract Minny wants to dump)? I think Minnesota says no. Thompson is under contract for several more years, right? So they're looking at a future with Thompson and Barnes with Lee off the books in two years. The problem with trading Lee is that he ties you up for the second year, same reason why Stoudemire wasn't moved. I think Minny needs a pick or two which GSaw doesn't have (perhaps 2015 due to Stepien rule?) with that or more bad Dubs expirings (are there any?) they can sell at the deadline. Then again, if they truly believe Love will leave, then low balling them might work.

An example would be where the Lakers were desperate to trade Pau Gasol (and his 19.3mil expiring contract) this season. The most likely trading partner were the Suns, but the wouldn't give up one of their 4 first-round picks, nor a second round pick for him. No one else would give up a 2nd round pick for him.

That's pretty funny. | ||

And although I agree with your general point, it is also only one of the reasons for what happened to Pau. Teams were also tanking it from the get-go, so they don't want or need Pau. It makes less teams with a chance to realistically make a run, so it also plays a role on someone really wanting/needing him. Plus, Pau played the don't-trade-me role very well all season. Pussying out of games when it sounded like a trade might be getting close (toe thing, ankle thing, dizzy thing, etc..). I think he will do good next season and can make a big impact on the right team.

Those bad trades were not his fault, unless it's like he completely ignore the GM's and executives. And pumped for Pacers-Heat! If I had to choose someone I would say Pacers right now but it is soo hard. Specially because we don't even know what IND team will show up yet. Hibbert is definitely the X-factor though. Miami will do a good job containing PG. As for the x-factor for the Heat, it is hard to say. You can't really say Wade or Bosh is the x-factor b/c they stars, so I would say Battier/Haslem/Birdman. Whoever it is that ends up getting the most minutes from the lineups they throw out there.

Arguments could be made for the potential of DWill (if you accept injuries as the source of his catastrophic fall-off), annnd that's all I've got. Maybe it wasn't widely known (my sixers haven't exactly been relevant for ~15years) but King was a terrible GM with the Sixers and has done pretty much the same kind of idiocy with the Nets. Ha, hadn't refreshed the page in a while.
