There are so many favourites this time: Stoch, Schlierenzauer, Freund, Kasai, the Slovenian guys... I'm rooting for Kasai, this guy is a miracle.

I only have list of my local broadcasters and then a separate list of every broadcaster by nation. If i'm not horribly mistaken, last olympics there was a list of competitions going on and then a stream for that (it wasn't commentated) -- but now i only seem to be able to watch my local tv-station's coverage.

Yes, that's the case. Some TV channels have exclusive rights to broadcast Games only in their country. Well, I watch Russian stream with proxi VPN (I use Hola) and German streams without any restrictions (I'm in Germany right now)

In singles, why'd the woman who bombed the triple axel get such a high score otherwise? nothing there seemed to be that great outside of that to make up for it. also, what's with the timer and bonus around 1:30? The post scandal judging system is indeed not easy to understand for the casual (lol) figure skating viewers. It's already subjective enough as it is, but I'll say the one who was over-marked was the Russian skater. Their placement, however, was correct... and in the end, that's all that matters in the Team competition. As for the timer - elements executed after the half-way mark gets a 10% bonus in base value for the element. A short program usually last around 2m40s, give or take. Many skaters put their most difficult elements early, so they could execute them before their legs get tired. For those with better stamina, they put their most difficult stuff in the 2nd half of their program for bonus points.

As always there is a big discussion about bonuses Russian sportsmen get, if they win medals. They are ridiculously big (money + a car (last games it was Audi A7 in top version) + appartment) comparing to other countries. And it is not boasting, it's actually bad I think. And there was this info about Norwegians... If it is true, it's awesome. If not, I apologize.

the russian women's hockey team lost their #1 goalie to pregnancy. germany and russia are pretty evenly matched so this should be a good close game.

Sven Kramer 2x Olympic gold medalist @ speed skating (possibly 4x after these Olympic Games) and Naomi van As 2x Olympic gold medalist in field hockey are in a relationship. Their kid should be a prodigy in ice hockey :D
