I thought it was resonably officiated, some blatant non-calls on both sides, but they were consistent, so I can't fault them too much. I'd say that it kind of worked out in Finlands favor, a lot of holds in this game would have been penalties in the NHL.

There was in fact, 1 penalty called per side. So where would your favoritism come from? and that boarding call against Benn was fucking atrocious.

Why do you say that? Canada had the puck all game (82% possession) and each team only had 1 powerplay. Typically the team that possesses the puck gets way more PP's because you only take penalties when you dont have the puck. If they called the game by the book there is no way the Finns keep guys like 222lb Jamie Benn from taking a puck to the net. They put the whistles away in the first. Fair enough. Both teams adjusted to the fact. Anyway, my point was Canada would have liked a more whistle heavy game, we have vastly superior special teams. I never said the refs were biased. Do you think Finland would have liked it if both teams had 5 PPs instead of just 1?

Plugs: Kunitz, Carter, Marleau , I say bring in St.Louis for sure for one of them. Thoughts? Also I think Subban should come in for Pietrangelo

Not a faster paced more offence heavy game... the opposite. Everyone just plugs 5 guys inbetween the faceoff dots, no risks are taken, less puck battles than on NA sized rinks.

Just a side thought, I wonder how awkward it is in the Canadian Brass Press box with both Ralph Krueger and Kevin Lowe there at the same time. Hmmm...

To the people insulting the Finn's style of play, what do you expect? It would be suicide to go power vs. power against an all-star team like Canada so they did what any intelligent team would do and limited quality chances while waiting for their own. And they did it so well - I could have a horrific table-saw accident and still count the mistakes they made on my zero remaining fingers.

They are so extremely well coached and Finnish players always seem to be some of the intelligent and responsible on the planet. Call me biased for having grown up cheering for Jari Kurri, bit I love Finns. And the Oilers have never won shit without a Finn on the roster. Thats not true, they made a huge mistake in the first period, Sharp made a beauty pass to the late man coming in hit him right in the slot in prime shooting position... and that skater was Kunitz.
