What exactly do you mean "Goalie Team" ?? its a team built around a goalie playing great... and little else. The 2010 Montreal Canadiens were a "goalie team", 1995 New Jersey Devils.. 1996 Florida Panthers... These teams have a counter punch style offense. A "goalie team" waits for the other team to get frustrated and over play the advantage they have.

This is very much a team wide effort to stop the Russians. Shoooooooooooooooooooooooootout!!!!!!!! Healy is annoying but his insights about goaltending are good. and he does make some interesting insights about what is going on at ice level. he gives me enough interesting stuff to chew on that i'll tolerate his pro player union bias ... pro-canada propaganda. like i said before, i'd rather have Cassie Campbell doing his job, but Healy is ok. what i don't want is some guy like Bob Mackenzie at ice level.

The New Jersey Devils players get castrated if they complain about the refereeing. Kovie was a good soldier for New Jersey. he shut up and did his job. so he is not "always QQing and being a diva". Lou Lamoriello is basically hockey's version of Vince Lombardi. After the NHL season is over he plays inteh World Championships every year. Again, he is a good solder.

Ovi's +/- sucks because he's horrible at defense (nothing new, was, is and will be) and Caps in general is horrible at defense. Doesn't mean he's not giving it all on the ice and he's bad offensively. Just seeing how other teams play "anti-ovi" is already an indicator of what this guy is. Saying Datsyuk is the only good player left in team Russia is also a joke, i don't think there are a lot of Datsyuks in other national teams. Today he belongs to world-wide hockey treasures so Mr. Sub40APM can as well say, that hockey is dying. Give it a go, what the hell. We have 2 awesome games coming up today! PS.Thanks to some guys here staying cool! No one was bashing all Russians. North America adores Datsyuk. Sub40APM perhaps, but no one else. I honestly do think Ovi's game has regressed though. He is no longer a dynamic player that just kills you from anywhere. He no longer has a strong passing game; he used to walk in, and if the shot was a bad choice he would make strong passes to trailers. Now he just shoots. Ovechkin has assist per 60 minutes numbers in the NHL similar to some really really awful players. Even worse is his 5v5 assist production; I think he has 2-3 all season. Given how he leads the NHL in icetime for a forward, that is horrifically bad. That assist production puts him in 4th line facepuncher territory in that regard. I definitely think he's regressed in that regard. I also think he was much stronger in his own end even just 2 years ago, but whatever thats just me. And you're right, NA is pretty anti-russian. Its whats happens when your government tried for 20 years to make the whole western world believe you could nuke us all whenever you wanted. is it right? Probably. Does it make sense? Definitely. I see it all the time with Yakupov, kid is the hardest worker I've ever seen, equally bad defensively, but his character is assassinated daily. Its really a shame, Yakupov is the opposite of a primadona.

Definitely. sry to nit pick here, but, the cold war went on from about 1950 to about 1989. including the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 60s. here is a 1951 Nuclear war warning video. the threats went in both directions guy. Check out this Ronald Reagan speech in 1964 and keep in mind he was Prez from 80 to 88 listen from 2:40 to 3:30. the threats went both ways my friend.... for 50 years.

He's not as good as they expect him to be. Also after coming back to KHL he basically became useless. In both today and yesterdays games his contribution started only after 65 minutes of a normal play ![]() Radulov is a tricky fruit, sometimes he acts like a little bitch, but year after year he delivers results and is very dangerous:

Difference though, is that Russians weren't subjected to the threats from the American government. No Russian woke up and saw Reagan's speech in the paper. Here in NA, we saw the whole thing unfold. And we still have the paranoia from it.

But i think Ovi can be a decent passer as well, its just seems to be that under Oates he's asked to shoot more and also in Caps he doesn't have a lot of finishers to pass to. His todays numbers are a reflection of Caps which is not the same team that was 5 years ago.

And Reagan made a tonne of threats.... the "Evil Empire" speech... etc etc. and the USA is the only country to drop the big one.. twice... for all the crap we were fed... the USSR never did drop the bomb. i was fed all this bullshit. some how i was able to ignore it.. .and watch russian hockey players actually you know ...
