1. Harden has achieved superstar status... with regards to getting fouls called in his favor. 2. Harden's defense is horrendous. It was always a knock on him, even in OKC, but he's reached last year Kobe levels, and he doesn't even have the excuse of age, mileage or accumulated injuries. 3. I wondered whether Dwight would suddenly agree to maximize his potential by becoming a pick and roll beast like he should with his skillset this season just to spite the Lakers. Apparently not, because he still seems to think of himself as a potent offensive player in the post. If you can't score against the Lakers frontcourt... 4. Nash definitely fouled/held Lin on that last play to get Blake open, but that doesn't excuse the failure of Dwight and/or Beverley to recover and help. As others have said, that kind of holding happens all the time in end-game plays and is never called. You can even see that Lin isn't upset at not getting a foul called. He's just exasperated that he didn't get any help. 5. The Farmar charge on that 4/3-on-1 fast break was so stupid and inexcusable. Nuff said. 6. With the amount of success Harden experiences driving to the basket, those step-back jumpers and jumpers when he's not open are inexcusable. Even worse when the team is constructed such that he has good 3pt shooters around him most of the time (except when McHale is trying to force the Asik-D12 combo to work). Speaking of which, Parsons seems to have lost confidence in his 3pt shooting because he chose to drive instead of shoot 3's throughout the game even when open. 7. Still can't believe the Lakers won.

Harden + Asik is fine, the problem is the perimeter players are stupid. If there is dribble penetration why are you helping one pass away - you have Dwight Howard and Asik for a reason. Stay home. What a stupid game. Houston should be much better defensively.

I still think Houston trades Asik if they can get good value for him though.

Firstly, Harden has a lot of responsibilities that he has to prioritize, playing hard on every play in the defensive end would result in more fouls, there is a hair thin margin between a good defensive play and a foul, the rockets absolutely can't have harden miss playing time because of foul trouble. Secondly, I assume you guys play basketball, you guys should know how tiresome it is to play defense, the reason we don't see ball denial and full court press every position is so that players can conserve their energy for a 48 minutes game. Even the best player in the game can't do it for more than 10 minutes continuously, unless you are Denis Rodman who can go all out for 48 minutes and then run 10 more miles on the treadmill after the game. and finally risk of Injury increases when someone is playing hard every position, and playing at the point of exhaustion, the rockets can afford to lose Harden to any Injury, his playing style is already reckless as he dive into the lane and get foul a lot.

Have you even seen his defense these first games? There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for this kind of defense ever.

if you want to use that metric to judge the rockets, 2 of their wins were against the jazz and the bobcats...

If you are a Rockets fan and think that will get better. Sorry to burst your bubble. He is a goof off. No other way to put it. And for a long part of today I didn't realize why I was so happy. And I can honestly trace it to last night's victory, lol. I agree about Lin looking like he is the scapegoat for everyone. And can McHale grow a pair??

Last night the lakers shot a higher percentage from 3 than from 2. You can credit being 4-2 to Asik-Howard, not to Harden's absolutely nonexistent defense.
