They are exactly where they should be. You need to earn your position in the standings.

And the only team I'd say they might be better than is the Blazers and I feel like that's close. The other teams are all far better IMO.

I agree with Dystopia. Certain kinds of people just want the Warriors to be good because they like "exciting" teams, and fell in love last years playoffs.
The reality is Steph Curry as a #1 option is dubious for a "contender".

They are #5 in both point differential and adjusted net rating (4th being Miami). I appreciate the tautological statements. I'll let you know if I want to have a conversation about being and becoming.

and you're still 6th and probably losing first round to LAC. Lee was terrible today and it was blessing he fouled out so draymond was on for the last play in regulation. barnes was simply trash, airball an uncontested pull up 3? then gave up 2 and1s following that, couldn't guard anyone.
at the end of the day is, gws is a deceptively great defensive team, but also deceptively inefficient offensive team. like that stupid curry turnover where he did his patented wrap around pass that hit jermaine on the head, happens too often.

Pretty sure he is a spurs fan!!
Clippers to win it 4-1.

For Miami to 3-peat i think what they need to do is acquire Andrea Bargnani and let him play the first 2 games of the playoffs.. Then stick him in the press box for the rest of the playoffs.
It's amazing how much better NY and Tor have played over the years without the big italian in their line up.

I'm betting Miami loses in Round 2 vs Chicago/Brooklyn. Also expecting a round 1 upset by Indiana. Also expecting not Chicago/Brooklyn to make the finals, and OKC to crush the playoffs and win the title.

Also OKC are a knee away from having no chance and even at full health are hardly going to crush. Spurs will give them a very competitive series (playoff Duncan + big starter minutes), the clippers are very dangerous and if you're going on regular season Dallas is 2-1 up.
A Spurs vs Miami repeat looks the most likely to me. Indiana's done and noone else in the East can take Miami in a Bo7 (except maybe Brooklyn, though they'd be beat up by Chicago). Chicago are going to be wrecked by round 2 with the minutes Thib's had them on, I see them putting up their usual fight but taking 4 games from Lebron? I just can't see that. Biggest threat for Spurs is OKC but even if it comes to that they've got a good chance.

Everyone so mad.
The Dubs are very good defensively (esp if Lee isn't playing) but they struggle on offence. Too streaky and don't get to the FT line enough (which is crucial come Playoffs). Iggy's been an outstanding acquisition for them but one thing he has struggled with this year is scoring. Barnes is atrocious. He's another Wes Johnson/Marv Williams.
If Bogut did break a rib today then they're no hope of upsetting in the first round. Reality is they need a new coach,
In saying all that, if a low seed is going to cause an upset, it will be the Dubs (unless the Grizz can sneak up to 6th and play the Clips :D )

I think Wade is too underdone this year to be as effective as Miami needs him to be.
I'd wager the winner is coming from out West this year. Boring prediction, but SAS looks the pick for me.
KD is gonna go bananas though.
|
i really like the spurs and theyve had a incredible season with the roster they've had but might be gassed and worn out like in certain previous seasons that they've been upset in. maybe i'll be wrong but i think okc will come out of the west (i cant doubt KD...), or clips get on hot streak. not sure what to expect from the east really, but i think everybody realizes the heat isnt as good as last year.

The spurs have done a tremendous job of resting their key players and building up the bench. Their issues in years past have often been a key injury (Parker in the finals last year for example), that their tremendous bench advantage becomes less critical in the playoffs, and that OKC is just crazy long/athletic and is a kryptonite matchup for them.
Regarding Mark Jackson, he's clearly got some issues identifying rotations/offensive play-calling. But Lee's 'salbatross' and Barnes' struggles aren't really his doing. He's also reportedly very popular with his team, which does matter quite a bit, while being less popular with his front office (and some assistants?! what was that about?). I think it's fair to say that the warriors anticipated being more than the 6th seed this season, and not all of that is attributable to injuries.
|
I don't know if Jackson's a good coach or not as I don't have the chance to watch GS much, but it's hard to look at that roster, with Curry as the alpha dog (is he even one?), Lee's contract, and Bogut's health issues, and say that 50 wins in a conference that competitive is a poor showing.
|
If I was Lebron, I might just tell Pat Riley that we're just going to chill out next year. Win or lose, it doesn't seem in his best interest to have another year like this one.
As much as I'd love to say Spurs will crush through, OKC definitely will be a challenge. You could point to the fact that OKC won the 4 regular season games, but they only played once since the All Star break and that was on a major rest differential. We'll just have to wait and see when they meet.

these techs against duncan are getting fucking ridiculous

Jesus, Bogut out indefinitely with fractured ribs. Copped a shoulder charge last night from LMA. Likely out 4-6 weeks I'm reading.
Dubs are no chance now. Can't see them getting 30mins+ from O'Neal.
