So it begins: RIP Southampton

Signings like these, which are somewhat cheap given the usual retarded numbers in the PL, are just for strengthening the width of the squad, nothing more. And the guy loves the club, so win win for both parties. You got Eto'o to be a 'bench warmer' last year when he was 32 when you've got a similar player in Ba as well. And really? A club like Chelsea with 500 million players on the loan sheet and you criticize Liverpool for making a purchase just for the width of the squad?

The Sunday Times has claimed to be in receipt of "hundreds of millions" of documents which detail payments to FIFA officials from Mohamed Bin Hammam. The Qatar 2022 World Cup bid committee has issued a statement dismissing the allegations of bribery in return for votes for the country. And now their are calls for a RE VOTE!! But Dyke has joined the calls for an in-depth investigation into the allegations, although the bid is already being probed by FIFA's chief investigator Michael Garcia. Source When the Sunday times claims they have all this evidence you beleive it 100%. They spent the first 11 pages of the national newspaper on Sunday describing these claims. Qatar are in BIG TROUBLE here. A re vote would mean awesome news for all of football and even greater news for Australia who finished in second place to Qatar in the votings. Personally Australia time would kill my watching of the World Cup but i would like to see them get it, or if not another upcoming nation in that area of the world.

No they sold Caroll who is greater than Lambert in every way because "they have no room for him". He is 25, Lambert is 32. We bought Eto'o to do a "job" for 1 season i agree he is stupidly old, but he isn't like any of our strikers. Demba Ba is a big target man like Lambert/Carroll. Torres is an all round strong and fast striker. Eto'o is a guy who knows where the back of the net is and how to find a yard of space in the penalty area thanks to his Barcelona days. Three completely different strikers. Lambert vs Carroll is exactly the same except Carroll is far better than Lambert and on top of that even if you think they are the same level, Carroll is 7 years younger. The manager also said he had no room for an "Andy Carroll type player in his squad" or words to that extent. Thats why it is ridiculous business to pay 4million for him and sell Carroll last year.

I guess we're going to be one of the clubs having most of their roster together before the wc. Good thing to know but carries the risk of having injured players come back.
