I don't think Barça will sell Masche..

He's been the most consistent player this whole past-season. without many of his great dashes and ball recovery capabilities, we wouldn't have "fought" the Liga title until last playday.

Yeah i mean selling Masch is the stupidest of things for Barcelona. He should be playing alongside Busquets to give more freedom to the attackers and then buy in some more defenders like Pique who are comfortable on the ball and have two players in front of them that can bail them out of trouble.
4-2-2-2 could be a good formation for Barcelona i don't know but selling Masch the only decent defensive player in the squad now would be quite silly?

The Benfica yard sale is on. Matic was sold in January for 25M€, Rodrigo and André Gomes should head towards Valencia - signed by the new president's company also in January, for 45M€, Enzo Peréz is now supposedly one step from Valencia also for 25M€. Guilherme Siqueira finished his loan period and is heading to Atletico Madrid (from Granada) for 10M€. Garay should be leaving for 20M€, the only question is where.

That's 5-6 starters gone... for 115M€ total (of course a % is shared with funds and others).

I honestly would prefer Koke anyway due to the way he has been built at Atletico but Fabregas if he does the job he did for Arsenal for us im happy with also.

Wait warding, wasn't Garay like #1 MU target after Ferdinand & Vidić departure? They were talking about this deal for so long it almost felt like a sure thing. After all, United needs AT LEAST one centre back urgently.

Honestly, I can easily imagine Barca without both Mascherano and Fabregas. Bear in mind that for like 5 or 6 years straight, they've played with just one defensively oriented midfielder and that was Busquets. switching to 2 of them when there's still room needed for Xavi + Iniesta + Messi + 2 wingers would mean one guy less in the offense plus I don't really think that Busquets, with his skill and consistency, needs a guy to help him. And, after all, Mascherano was an "artificial CB" all the time -unlike Pique, I don't remember him ever being particularily on fire while in Blaugrana.

Back then I thought Fabregas will be a natural successor to Xavi, getting more and more playtime as time runs by and eventually taking over the reign, but nope - they turned him into a filler role, despite many good performances.

In short, Cesc, Masche and - especially - Song are free to go. Better keep Alexis though!

Cesc cannot be Xavi's successor, it's not the same type of player. Cesc is creative and very offensive, Xavi organizes from the back and is much more calculated. The best players on the market would be Gundogan or Koke.

I don't see Mascherano leaving the club. He can be Busquets' sub + 3rd CB behind Piqué and the guy they're going to buy.

Unfortunately I think they're going to sell Alexis and Tello (maybe even Pedro if they buy Aguero or a 9). Alexis is really close to Juventus (trade + money for Vidal?) and Tello to Porto.

I know this isn't the tournament on everyones or even anyones lips right now but I was reading about whats been going on in the Asian Champions League so far this year having not watched or read anything about it until now. I was very surprised and disappointed to see the format of the league has changed. Previously the group stage was divided into separate East Asian and Central/Arabian Asian groups and this makes sense as there are issues with jet lag,cost and the fact that no fans are prepared to fly that far for group games. However after that it used to be (I think) random who you played in the knock out stages so teams from East Asia could play teams from Central Asia. However now it looks like teams from different areas can't play each other until the final.

To me that makes it basically two completely separate competitions with only 1 game between them where the winner of each play each other in the final. This just seems a bit lame to me. I don't know, if they're going to do that maybe they should just go their different ways and have the East Asian Champions League and the Central Asian Champions League.
