Honestly, I can easily imagine Barca without both Mascherano and Fabregas. Bear in mind that for like 5 or 6 years straight, they've played with just one defensively oriented midfielder and that was Busquets. switching to 2 of them when there's still room needed for Xavi + Iniesta + Messi + 2 wingers would mean one guy less in the offense plus I don't really think that Busquets, with his skill and consistency, needs a guy to help him. And, after all, Mascherano was an "artificial CB" all the time -unlike Pique, I don't remember him ever being particularily on fire while in Blaugrana. Back then I thought Fabregas will be a natural successor to Xavi, getting more and more playtime as time runs by and eventually taking over the reign, but nope - they turned him into a filler role, despite many good performances. In short, Cesc, Masche and - especially - Song are free to go. Better keep Alexis though! | ||

I don't see Mascherano leaving the club. He can be Busquets' sub + 3rd CB behind Piqué and the guy they're going to buy. Unfortunately I think they're going to sell Alexis and Tello (maybe even Pedro if they buy Aguero or a 9). Alexis is really close to Juventus (trade + money for Vidal?) and Tello to Porto. | ||

To me that makes it basically two completely separate competitions with only 1 game between them where the winner of each play each other in the final. This just seems a bit lame to me. I don't know, if they're going to do that maybe they should just go their different ways and have the East Asian Champions League and the Central Asian Champions League. | ||
