Yeah the price for getting to the final is good, but it also depends "who you are" i think. I remember the one year Chelsea got further than Yanited i think it was and they made like £5million less than us even though we got way further than them. So i think it has TV rights involved with it as well. Real Madrid will dwarf the money of Atletico that im sure. Champions League winner Chelsea received $73.1 million in prize money and was the biggest earner in last season's competition, UEFA said on Friday. Beaten finalist Bayern Munich earned $50.9 million from the $919 million prize fund which UEFA shared among 32 teams playing in the group stage. Bayern $2.6 million more for playing in the playoff round to qualify for the group stage. Manchester United was sixth with $43 million despite failing to reach the last-16 knockout round. It added $1.5 million more from its brief subsequent appearance in the second-tier Europa League. Yeah that is from Chelsea season in 2012, Yanited 6th best paid team and they didn't get passed RO16!. So it is "strange" how it works ![]() Source

No wonder the richer teams get richer. UEFA wants to invoke FFP, but maybe they could look at their fricken marketing pool and distribute evenly based on performance in the league.

UEFA has presented its UEFA Champions League revenue distribution system for the 2013/14 season. The estimated gross commercial revenue from the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup is estimated at around €1.34bn. The net amount available to the participating sides will be divided into two – €500.7m in fixed payments (group stage allocations, performance and qualification bonuses) and €409.6m in variable amounts (market pool). The market pool amount will be distributed according to the proportional value of each television market represented by the clubs playing in the UEFA Champions League (group stage onwards), and will be split among those teams competing from a given association. Champions League: 2013/14 revenue distribution The money from commercial rights is distributed based on market share. Which IMO is fair, because the teams getting most of the money come from the nations with the biggest market shares (England, France, Germany, etc.). They're the reason that UEFA is getting that money in the first place. The money for performance is already distributed evenly. Each team gets a fixed amount for reaching the next round of the competition, and €1m or €500k for each win or draw in the group stage respectively.

UEFA has no interest add all to change the "richer gets richer". It makes sence from a financial standpoint, ManU is easier to sell in NA or Asia then lets say Dortmund or Atletico. Remember UEFAs job is not providing competition or the best possible games it is to make money and spread CL/EuroLeague/European National Championship too as many people as possible. So they dont care if the games are good or bad they only care for the numbers. Thats also why ManCity or PSG have nothing to worry about. They doesnt give a shit about from whom or where this money comes from as long as they get their share from it. The only thing that could change that is some sort of salary cap but everyone who could change that (rich clubs, players, UEFA) do have no interest at all in it.

I feel bad for the guy now, maybe this is a lesson to us all to not take banana's as snacks to football matches. Especially if you have a very annoying girlfriend ![]()

Napoli vs Fiorentina I'm rooting for Liverpool myself. They have played the most scintillating football in the prem this season plus Suarez played a long time in the eredivisie. I wouldn't be too upset with City winning either though as I like the way they play and Pellegrini is a class act. So long as Mourinho doesn't win haha... Also can't wait for the WC. Don't have high hopes for Holland this year, especially with Strootman injured but it would be a pleasant surprise if they got to at least the QF. Be satisfied with just getting out of the group stage though... Tempering my expectations lol...
