17th Champions League season for Arsenal in a row and people seriously criticize Wenger?
I can tell you right now the day Wenger leaves will be the season Arsenal miss out CL.

Just look at their opposition: two super super rich clubs (ManCity, Chelsea), two super old clubs with record winning titles (ManUtd and Liverpool) and still they managed to qualify for CL EVERY season for the last 17 years.

Stop complaining. Wenger is doing a phenomenal job.

Really, really.....with the budget he "so called has" which is at least 50million every window and he refuses to bring anyone in and then complains his squad is to small. For a team who plays so well yet bottles it in the big games?
Wenger has been beaten so hard in his career with teams he has created? I don't understand that.
Getting CL 17 years in a row isn't anything special on the budget he has to work with and the way the premiership has gone :s

Not saying he a shit manager don't get me wrong, but the trophy and success he has bought to the club is pretty poor since the invincibles (which was pretty sick ofc)
Also if the highlight of your career is 17 years in a row top 4 your not aiming that high?

Sorry but Carling Cup and FA Cup are worthless to me. I don't see whats better in winning such an useless and meaningless competition compared to qualifying for champions league. The only trophies worth winning are domestic league and International cup (PL and CL title in Arsenal's case).

And as far as I know Arsenal is neither top1 in England nor in Europe money wise. So what is so bad about Arsenal's performances?

The official attendance of the Arsenal game was 60023 which is pretty much full. But it has been pointed out that clearly wasn't a full stadium. The reason is apparently that there was a Metro/tube strike and a lot of people simply didn't make it or perhaps didn't even try to get there despite having tickets. I don't know how much Arsenal tickets are but I bet their not cheap. That would be pretty shitty if you had tickets and couldn't even get there.

I've always thought it odd to count the ticket sales rather than the number of people actually there as the attendance. But i guess it makes sense from a financial point of view.

Stop complaining? What else is there to do on the internet? :D

I'm very torn on the subject of Wenger. Yeah, we're getting Champions League football again, but we've been stagnant for almost ten years, with the odd boost in a competition here and there.

What bothers me most about the leadership is our lack of grit when we go up against big teams in the PL. We get consistently shat on because we want to play our pretty football and win. It isn't happening against teams that will put good defenders behind the ball and actually defend. That's why I praise Mourinho for his defensive domination of Liverpool and us - because I've been on the other side of it. Then there's our lack of a defensive midfield destroyer. Where's our Viera nowadays? Arteta has been shit for most of the season; Diaby will probably never come as good as we hoped; and although I love Flamini for his fire, he's a walking yellow card.

Arsenal are sitting pretty in the top four, yes, but we should be pushing for and making a serious go at the title. Even when we were leading the league months ago, I never thought we'd end up winning it. Sure, we've gotten unlucky with injuries that fucked our play over but the players never had the belief that we'd end up winning. Fucking depressing. The CL final loss years ago made us decline hard (fucking hell, Larsson, why must you crush my dreams so?).

The reality is that we will never again win the league under Wenger. He's too stubborn to change the way he plays. Summer is coming, and so is the end of Wenger's contract. We're in the FA Cup final (I certainly think the national cups still matter, but I may be alone in that), so that's a great game to put a dot on his Arsenal reign. Go out as a champion. He managed The Mother-Fucking Invincibles, Arsene. I'll always love him for that. I won't rebel or talk shit if he does stay, but it's just time to move into a new era.

I think they're looking hard for the next manager atm, which is why the contract discussions haven't produced anything. Unsure who I'd pick to be the next man. Arsene's been around for as long as I've supported Arsenal. Maybe van Gaal? Seems like a bit of a nutter, but he does get results in the leagues he's managed.

@Greg_J: Yeah, our tickets are apparently notoriously expensive. Can't comment on it, since I don't live in England, unfortunately.

Arsenal absolutely cannot spend 50 million every window. I don't know where you're getting that from. Not even Bayern could spend that much. Only Chelsea, Man City, PSG etc can do that. Without player sales adding some money to the budget, we could spend 50 million a year for like 2 years maximum. Arsenal has a big wage bill, yes, but also a net transfer spend similar to Norwich City and Newcastle, and still keeps up with 2 clubs that have essentially unlimited funds.

BTW Arsene has lifted 3 league titles and 4 FA cups in case you forgot.

I understand that one can want more, especially league trophies.
But each every Arsenal fan who wants change must realise that they could end up like ManUtd or worse Liverpool (how long are they waiting for a league title huh?).

And if that happens every single fan will cry and say why did we let Wenger go? :/

Obviously everything can go down shit creek when Wenger leaves, but it has to happen sooner or later, so why not now? We have a good core of players that a new, competent manager can walk in and make his own. Losing Arsene will suck, but the club is bigger than even our wonderful old Frenchman.

Wenger should continue till 70.

He has amazing young/up coming players, i think he can win at least one title in the next five years.

Obviously Arsenal's financial power isn't on par with Chelsea, City et al., but let's not pretend that they have been doing everything in their power to compete:

Look at what they have in the bank, and consider that Wenger balked at Higuain over a difference of a few million.

They need to find the "right" young manager to take up the squad after Arsene goes. If they can't find the right manager now (Roberto Martinez) then they should extend his contract until he becomes available.

I've been reading Jag ar Zlatan(Ibrahimovic's biography) these days.

It's from Ibra's biography. Zlatan After Inter vs Barcelona, where Mourinho absolutely destroyed Barcelona.

After the game I went into the dressing room, I hadn't exactly planned some raging attack… But I wasn't happy, to use mild words, and in the dressing room my enemy(Pep) stood, scratching his bald head. Few others were in there. Touré and a few others, and the big metal box where we put our clothes, and I was staring at the box. Then I kicked it. I think it flew like three meters, but I wasn't done yet. Far from it. I yelled:
"You have no balls", and probably some worse things, and added:
"You shit yourself in front of Mourinho. You can go fuck yourself!"

This is pure gold lool. Ibra is such a boss.

im now on chapter 2, I learned that Ibra lived such a tough childhood, i really felt bad while reading

People really need to stop saying that being able to play somewhat attacking football and being able to park the bus is considered 'better tactics' than a team that plays the same style every game. All that plan A and plan B bullshit is ridiculous.

Liverpool could park the bus if they wanted to. Bayern could park the bus if they wanted to. But the fact that they hold true with their club philosophy means that they can perform their style better and it connects more with fans/attracts more fans. This is why people love Blackpool's PL season, and Swansea as well. They have limited resources but they still play their own game/style which is attacking football. And it's also the reason why a lot of people have a strong dislike for Chelsea, and that's even more strongly fueled because there's an abrasive cunt managing the team.

Also, you can't honestly say Bayern this year is better than last year or vice versa. Season isn't even over yet and lots of different factors can change the outcome of any team's standing in the league or European competition. Luck of the draw, form of the day against a certain opponent or the opponents' form, luck in the game all matter a lot.

And to say Guardiola isn't among the top managers is absolutely ludicrous.

well Heynkes already finished Bundesliga with a higher point record than Bayern can achieve this season.
So one could say that Bayern being worse this season is already a fact. ^^

Im telling you, he got on the wrong side of a Gypsy women, additionally I dont think he is the kind of coach that can drill teams into playing the way Mourinho does. Its incredibly naive but in all honesty thats not something he is good at.

Additionally if you break down Arsenals big game performances this season its always the same, try to pass it around without the ability to do it against top level opposition get caught on the break, go behind early.

Continue to play naively, get murdered.

I dont really have a problem with a team losing by a goal or 2 more than they would playing conservatively if they are behind and trying to win.

But the thing is the way Arsenal play now, its not just them who can do it anymore, frankly position for position they really arent as good as the rest of the top 4 and you can see that.

It would also put Spurs in the mix to overtake them, not that it would matter all too much but still,
