I don't know... Next year they'll get Rafinha and Deulofeu back from loan, and they can loan players they don't want to keep. The problem is I think Martino isn't going to continue next year (which is a good thing, imo). It's going to be difficult to hire a new coach that won't be able to make changes for 12 months.

It also means that they'll have to use la Cantera to replace players like Puyol and Xavi (who's not leaving but who's getting older...). Probably a good thing for players like Bartra and Sergi Roberto/Rafinha.

Last season, I already wished that they could rebuild the team around different players (from la cantera or from transfers), a different coach and a different direction. With this thing, it might be what's going to happen!

Anyone a detailed source on the rule? As far as i understand german media it means the they cant either sell or buy any player with a running contract.
Also if i remember correctly pre determent contracts (like the one of neymar) doesn´t matter at all which means no Ter Stegen, no Halilovic, no Gündogan.

Bad timing do to the need of at least one CB, a keeper and even a long term Xavi replacement. CAS might be the last hope here.

Valdes runs out of his contract doesn't he so he can leave if he wants. Will be impossible to replace him.

edit: except for the goalie problem I don't think it's that bad for the club. Like someone else said we have Bartra etc. And it'll give the club some time to shore up the finances. The only fucked up thing is for players who don't get a lot of play time now and maybe want to leave like Pedro and Alexis Sanchez.

edit2: More importantly the way clubs buy underaged kids is truely disgusting imo and the ban is justified as well.

Uh I've read that they can sell, just not buy. And it isn't definite, they can still challenge the decision, which they will. They have 3 months to prove that they haven't done anything illegitimate.

Also heard that because Valdes got heavily injured they offered him a 1 year contract extension because at this point no club would hire him. If true, that's ridiculously classy by Barça.

Honestly I doubt the decision will stand. It's way too big of a punishment. This is equivalent to giving Barça an 8 figure fine.

Yeah but they have allegedly signed 10....1 0.....underage players illegally with the help of the Spanish FA. That is BAD! Chelsea got 1 window ban for signing John Obi Mikel after he signed for Yanited. 1 player, 1 window ban (was 2 but appealed). I think 2 window ban for 10 illegal players (allegedly) is justified lol.

Oh yeah it was Kakuta....lol we got banned for signing an average player...

The way Chelsea got their ban overturned (After missing out on 1 transfer window) is we paid off the club in which the underage player was on the books for. We paid off Lens in this case money for the player (Kakuta) which i don't know the amount we gave them but thats how we did it. Then FIFA said ok, that is fine and lifted it. Barcelona will have to do that to potentially 10 clubs.

Yeah but it isn't the school that is the problem, it is the buying of youngsters to go into the school. The school teaching itself doesn't change whether it has Spanish kids playing it or African/Koreans. It's how these other children get into the school in the first place is the issue
