Schmelzer was injured and is still not playing his best. maybe he'll get there, maybe not - certainly there is no alternative. Boateng is a liability at best. and since lahm will probably play cm he'll have to play rb where he sucks even more actually I would prefer Großkreutz over him. Also, if one of these guys or Hummels or Mertesacker gets injured (again) we're really fucked. Westermann, Höwedes, Jansen are a bad joke Klose/Gomez injury can be compensated with even more midfielders (pls not with Lasogga -_-) especially Gomez probably won't be nowhere near his level of '12 I could go on but TL;DR lots of midfielders =! roster depth If Germanys roster has no depth then no roster on the world has. I think Germanys Top 11 is easily up there with Spain and Germanys Top 20 is easily Top 5 Dont really know what your talking about. And Boateng right now is one of the best defenders in the world. What are you talking about? T_T

There is a generation of kids coming that are looking bright. I don't know if I agree with you. Do you really see any of Feyenoord youth making it at a truly top club in the future? Or Ajax players for that matter? I don't. I think this next generation will be lean and unless the Eredivisie shapes up it might stay that way.

We have a generation of youth coming that were back to back European youth champions, we'll see how these guys develop in the coming years. In this team there were guys like Ake, Rekik, Kongolo, Vilhena and Boetius. You also have guys like Krishna and Denswil who look bright. But these guys aren't the guys I'm thinking about though, there is a crop of 16/17 year olds at both Ajax and Feyenoord that look amazing. and honestly. There are far prospects for the next generation than we had for our last which only good contribution was playing great in the group stages to bomb out in the knock-out stage. The final we reached was with the most negative football I've ever seen.
