What does the league have to do with anything pande? I recall you jumping on the cavani bandwagon pretty fast, even though he had "proved" as you say, even less than Silva.
Anyway don't say stuff like "x player plays in y team for z league so he's not proved himself", that's just wrong. Quality shines everywhere.

Cavani was doing it in the Champions League is where i saw him play (vs us!) then after that i watched him internationally in the Confederations cup in which then i jumped on his band waggon saying £50million for him is steal as his defensive worth ethic is perfect for Mourinho etcetcetc.
Silva played averagely in Champions League, this season we might test him more but last season he was outdone by the weakest Barca team in years in the competition. Then at the confederations cup in his own country, it wasn't even about him when they talked about the defence it was about how good Luiz was which is WTF because we know how much of a not good a defender Luiz is. He is good passer/dribbler and wicked freekick but he isn't a world class CB. For me he could be a world class Pirlo esc player without a doubt.
Thats why i will never rate Silva until i see him dominate a striker internationally or deal with people in the Champions League. Or even in the upcoming World Cup.

It's silly that you're using the confed cup as an argument but disregard the league 1. Sure there are good countries at the confed cup but nobody actually gives a damn about that commercial piece of crap.
Yes that is true, but international level of football is still the pinnacle. People still use Messi not winning world cup/being awesome internationally as excuse of not being greatest ever
The world cup is the most prestigious tournament in the world so obviously that's an important tournament tk win to determine the greatest in the world. Not all international football is the pinnacle the EPL is probably toigher than thr confed cup.
Not only Thiago Silva is the best CB in the world, he is the best I have ever seen play. That includes some of the all time great defenders from France 98 like Blanc, Desailly, Thuram, and other greats from the past decade like Cannavaro, Puyol...
He dominated the PSG-Barca games, including a healthy Messi in the first leg. he was not at fault for any of the Barca goals. Highlights of the 1st leg:

And why would someone discredit a league like the Calcio when it brought legendary defenders like Nesta, Maldini, or Baresi? Silva was considered the best, easily, with players like Barzagli, Chiellini, Bonucci, Nesta (ok he was old but still!) in the league.
He is amazing in 1vs1, he is as good with the ball as most EPL attacking midfielders and he brings serenity to his GK and his defense. He might not be n°1 World in everybody's mind, but for me he is, by far.
I can't understand how he keeps smashing our expectations of him, like he's just came back from injury and scored 4 goals in 150mins of playing, 2 of them being highlight material. #goat

Yeah, Thiago Silva was easily man of the match for that first leg. He was everywhere that game.
