Bale is really going to take the piss in LaLiga vs any other team than Barcelona, but even then he will take the piss out of Alba lol I for one can't wait to play as Madrid on Fifa now xD 4-3-1-2 Isco behind Ronaldo and Bale lawl GG I'll probably watch Bale's debut too, that should be a good laugh

I guess a lot of people in germany will pretend this never happened, that Gomez is lying, or that Real went crazy anyway after the Bale and Özil transfers.

Bale will not suck like Kaká tho. He might get injured instead, he has glass bones after all xd (I never sign players prone to injury in football managers).

![]() Also Madrid sold Robben because he was a glass bones player as you put it xD don't think he hardly kicked a ball for Madrid, Bayern took a gamble on him and has been the fittest he has been since he joined Chelsea with them. Also, imagine if stupid Wenger actually realized what he needed before September 2nd and actually bought in Higuain as well...Ozil playing awesome balls into Higuain...damn, then Arsenal would be making teams stand up and recognize!

Arsenal's brand + Ozil should recoup a large amount of his transfer in shirt sales alone. I have to admit I'm quite tempted in getting one myself.

I´ve always wondered how many extra shirts clubs actually sell when they buy big names. Are there really that many people who buys the kit only for a name? Wouldn´t they buy the kit if it wasn´t for said player?

Big names sometimes have their own crop of fans who like a team because the player plays there and not because of the team. For instance I own a Ac Milan Shevchenko shirt, a Nedved Juventus shirt and a Barcelona Figo shirt (which infamously became worthless lol) edit: And my Arsenal Bergkamp shirt, can't believe I forgot that one >_<

Like i said, EVERYONE but Yanited fans think Cleverly and Carrick are any good, however i do concede that Carrick is fine to replace Wilshere in CM, BUT i do not want Cleverely keeping Lamps on the bench ffs ;_; I was having this debate with a friend earlier, wtf is England's best team these days :S With the way Sturridge is playing you would have to pick hmi over Defoe, so that would be Sturridge ST Rooney no10? Or would just play 4-3-3 anyway and have Sturridge ST Rooney on one of the wings? Or rooney as an AM sort of position floating between the lines but also defending as a midfielder? Or i guess if i was in charge i would ask Rooney where his best position is then build the team around that. --------Sturridge -- Rooney -- Walcott ----Lampard/Carrick -- Wilshere - Gerrard --A.Cole -- Cahill -- Lescott/?? -- Richards(if playing)/Walker/Johnson ----------Hart i guess XD Any other English fans got any other ideas? (However i really do think the best England play is /defend and go long ball with Carroll/Crouch guess even Lambertt heading balls down to Rooney/Lamps/Gerrard/Walcott/Sturridge running onto it xD But that is just me and how i think we should beat teams as we cant pass ourselves around fkn San Marino ;_; )

Meanwhile, in Poland... Lewandowski has no competition. Mierzejewski sucks but has no competition. Krychowiak has no competition. Polanski is very bad and still has no competition. Zielinski is actually decent, but also has no competition. Błaszczykowski has decent competition (Sobota) but he's actually the best. Wawrzyniak sucks but... guess what? He has no competition! Salamon has equally bad competiton (Szukała) but will probably play. Glik has no competition. Rzeźniczak has no competition since Piszczek is injuried. Szczęsny has competition (Boruc) but should play. ...and we face Montenegro in a last-chance clash for Brasil tickets.

I mean that team drew with England and arguably should of beat them, your record vs England in the last few meetings must be good too? I mean that team on paper "isn't shit" and International football seems to be based around defending (or has been in the past). I hope this years world cup (next summer) is going to be like the confederations cup, lots of attacking play but still some great defending, but GOALS GOALS. Not boring 1-0s or scrappy games...guess if England don't get there that might happen ![]()

The players we have are quite close in terms of skill. It's all a case of Hodgson stamping his style on the team and picking the best players for that style. In fact, I think that Hodgson's main mistake as England manager thus far is the fact that he hasn't cemented a definite style yet. At EURO 2012 it looked like we were going to be playing a hard-working 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 type of style, the type of style he's been known for favouring at club level, but we've started gravitating towards a more European 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 style recently. It's a bit annoying, because I think that consistency is something England have been missing for a long time (we second guess ourselves too much against superior opposition), much more so than quality players... Anyway, assuming we play the latter, I think this is the layout I'd be looking at: Rooney Rooney will continue to pick himself for quite a long time. I just don't see any England manager dropping Rooney in favour of another striker. You could argue that it's possible to play Rooney in the role Wilshere/Cleverly play, leaving room for a more physical striker like Welbeck, Crouch or Lambert. It's definitely something to think about because that would make our oft wing-centric play a lot stronger. I'd go with Rooney in this position. On the wings we have a lot of options, so I've simply gone and listed the most obvious pace-merchants. Pace is definitely our strength down the wings. In games were we're playing against "superior" opposition, the more defensive Milner option is definitely a possibility, but it's not something you want to do every game. The wings are probably where we are strongest and any future England team needs to focus there with how many good, young wingers we have coming through the ranks. I would probably go with Walcott on the right and Young on the left, but Young is definitely a confidence player so you need to know when/when not to start him! The number 10 role is where we're weakest. Neither Wilshere nor Cleverly are world-beaters, though they're both competent. I actually think that Wilshere is painfully over-rated, probably because he plays for Arsenal and so everyone assumes he's a really slick passer of the ball. Like I already said, you could play Rooney here if you wanted to open up the CF role for a more physical striker, and I'd probably do that if I didn't have to take reality into consideration... but I really can't see any England manager dropping Rooney out of his favoured CF role. I'd probably go with Wilshere in this position, at least until Cleverly learns how to fucking shoot >_< In defensive midfield, I don't think you can play Lampard and Gerrard alongside each other. They both look for Hollywood passes a little too often, they both want to get forward a little too often, and they're both pretty naff defensively. Having one of them in there to look for killer passes and dictate play going forward is a definite, but I would never, ever, ever play them together in a holding role. If you want to play them together, one of them has to play the number 10 role, which I suppose is a possibility to think about (I'd favour either Cleverly or Wilshere because it's better for the future). I would personally pick Gerrard over Lampard because I think Gerrard has better leadership qualities, but the Chelsea fans are free to disagree. They're both pretty even in terms of ability, neither would be a bad choice. Whichever one gets picked is also picked as captain. Alongside Lampard/Gerrard you need a defensive midfielder who's capable of doing the defensive work. The obvious choices in this type of role are Carrick (whose interception-based defensive play is heavily under-rated by people who don't actually watch United week-in-week-out) and Barry (who is oft labelled as boring precisely because of his defensive outlook). Wild-card options include Jones, Milner, Parker... As a United fan, I would obviously prefer to see Carrick being played in this role. At left-back, I think that either Cole or Baines would be a fine choice. Full-backs need to be capable of attacking in modern football, and both of these players are capable of getting forwards and threatening the opponent's defensive line. I would probably play Cole because I still think he has an edge over Baines in terms of skill. It is a similar story at right back, but I think that Walker has a defensive advantage over Johnson and so I'd choose Walker. At centre-back, I think we need a quick defender capable of playing out (ala. Rio Ferdinand in his prime) and a physical defender capable of destroying people in the air (ala. John Terry in his prime). Ultimately, these two defenders need to be able to shore up each other's weaknesses. In terms of quick defenders capable of playing out, I feel that Cahill and Smalling are the best options that England have, and I feel that Cahill's superior first-team experience edges Smalling out of the picture. It's a similar story in the other centre-back position, where Jagielka's superior first-team experience edges Jones out of the picture. I definitely think that Jones/Smalling are the future for both United and England, but they're not the finished article yet. To anyone who even thinks about mentioning Lescott; a thousand times no because he's god-awful. Cahill and Jagielka get the nod due to their first-team experience and the fact that they've already been forging a decent partnership in England colours. Hart has no competition. Yeah i didn't see your edits I was busy replying! But so you see England best formation 4-2-3-1? Not a 4-3-3 or a modified 4-5-1? With say Rooney dropping into midfield to shut up shop? Also i do agree we have arguably 2 players for each position pretty comfertably. That is a plus for England, but the problem is the previous managers haven't played these people much so the likes of Cahill and his CB partners are coming unstuck sometimes xD Like vs Scotland conceding 2 goals is pretty poor, considering we are used to JT and Rio just owning house at the back, hardly making a mistake. Guess what your saying i can agree with, Lampard and Gerrard CAN play together though just not in the systems provided, but especially cant play in a 4-2-3-1, i think could easily play in a 4-5-1 kind of formation or possibly a 4-3-3 if you had Wilshere sitting deep and a decent CB partnership I also think the CBs are an issue, for some reason i always think Lescott should be alongside Cahill and not Jagielka, but Lescott doesn't play anymore so i guess you can't play him. Jagielka for me gets found out internationally so much. I mean Cahill was bad vs Scotland but Jagielka was miles worst for some reason. Doesn't seem to throw himself on the line as much as what im used to seeing defenders do. I guess for the future the ideal pairing would be Cahill and Jones/Smalling. Which would be good i think, but no chance of that coming up due to Hodgson not even attempting to play them there. I think Hodgson and even Moyes have Jones playing as a RB? for some reason, but even if that is right id play him over Walker/Johnson due to them being SHITE defenders xD Well guess nothing more we can do as English fans other than support the team and hope....hope alot xD
