Clearly was ahead of Datsyuk in scoring these playoffs...?
He costs more goals than he generates. Datsyuk is the reverse and if he had a skilled Winger to play with instead of 3rd liners he'd be on the score sheet more often.

Don't start that shit. Bad officiating is just bad officiating but it is no excuse. Shit happens.
I don't think he means that. I think he is referring to how all the teams left in the playoffs are the last 4 champions (plus the Wings are the 5th).
Oops yeah that's what I mean. I thought the last ten years were all about making sure every team was on even footing as much as possible, doesn't seem to be working out though.

I like it for a change that the four legit probably best teams made it, last year's playoffs sucked by this point cause it was mediocre boring teams and the hot Kings.
you might just be the only person who thought that last year but ok
i never understood the dbo hate. he's clean on like 95% of his hits, and he hits a real lot
there's plenty of way more hatable shiesty players out there. chicagos got fuckfaces in bolland and carcillo, boston has marchand, sid, malkin and neal are stupid talented but i might hate them the most out of the group because of how much they hack at ankles, throw bows, whine and dive. la really doesnt have any players that are notorious shitheads. richards and carter are dicks but i can really only think of one dick move for each of them and that was when they were both flyers years ago.
You are New York area right? Probably wasn't a common opinion there, but elsewhere I don't think the Rangers and Devils were very highly regarded.
The rangers were among the cup favs in the preseason last year, and were front runners for most of the season as the 1 seed?? and the devils were a very strong aggressive on the forecheck team that still had parise and finished just seven pts off of rangers, and even less behind pitt and phi, good for 5th most points in the east. rangers were absolutely regarded as a good if boring defensive team. i have no idea why youd think that last year. the devils outside of their hiccup against florida, was generally regarded as one of the stronger teams by the media, as were the other two atlantic playoff clubs since they all played the toughest schedules
So...Messier is going to coach the Rangers? God I hope thats true. Not because I think he will be a good coach but because (a) it will once again highlight that Sather needs to go and (b) it will once again expose all those dumb ass hockey writers who cant come to terms that great on ice player =/= great GM or great Coach.
i could see if he had coaching experience like roy did. if messier was gonna go anywhere, it would be upstairs. he has been serving as an assistant gm or something similar for a couple years. though it is under slats so who knows how good that wil ldo him
really hope slats aint dumb enough to put him as hc

After the last series, Bickell has gone from some no name guy I never cared/knew about to one of the top assholes. Him and Shaw were just douchebags the whole series. Toews was whiny as well and I don't see why everyone jumps on his dick so often (though I don't see him much and apparently he was "out of character" this series). Kane has always been kinda a dick. I don't get the hate against Hossa though unless people are pissed still that he left Detroit.
I only dislike the Pens because they were rivals of Detroit for a couple of years (plus always fun to hate on the best player in the league when he makes it sooo easy ;D). Other then that they have Cooke who is S class asshole but other then that they aren't bad. Bruins I don't have anything against, but thats probably because Detroit doesn't play them often (opposing fan bases seem to not like them much). LA I don't have anything against the team itself but their fan base is insufferable.
i forgot lucic. he's a real fuckface, and unlike other fuckfaces like cooke (that one i omitted because i might as well say the sky is blue too guys) and marchand, he can kick you ass too
and yeah i kinda forgot about bickell and shaw. probably just because i dont watch the hawks much but theyre good grinder type players who piss you off
Ken Holland is looking forward to next year, with Todd Bertuzi and Samuelson in his top 6 and Daren Helm in the bottom 6. I guess the upside is, he isnt going to sign Michael Ryder for 6 million, 2 years, NTC. The downside is, Tatar is going to go play in the KHL because why wait for Detroit for 7 years to clear up space for him. http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1438703
haha I could see being happy about how the younger guys performed on the run, but touting Bert and Samuelsson as positives?? Jeez. I mean they're still decent players and all but if you're not gonna put your young kids in top 6 roles, at least get dudes for those spots who have a bit younger legs and are more dynamic

The only thing Carter did that sticks on the memory is accompanied by the phrase "high and wide!"
but it is actually shoudler to shoulder. he really doesnt have anything besides that. he got someone in the sharks series with a minor board but thats it
He's a pretty fantastic player. If he could pass a bit better he would put up 90 points regularly. Also he's fantastic in transition and good in the d-zone. The deals he and Richards signed were certainly team-friendly. The Kings have a core of Doughty, Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Brown, and Quick. And Voynov should carry some weight soon. The Hawks may have a similar sort of great young core, but Richards' and Carter's cap-friendly deals give LA a huge advantage going forward.

More memorable to me though is that the Rangers barely squeaked by the 8th seed, then barely squeaked by the 7th seed both in 7 games, then lost to the 6th seed all while playing barely hang on defensive play. And your description of the Devils makes them sound to me like your average competent NHL playoff team, not top in the league finals material.
