that was most hilarious sequence I have ever seen in hockey. Quincey basically mauls Saad, who stupidly holds onto him and therefore for some reason is also penalised and so the series winning goal is disallowed. the only thing that would have made it even funnier would have been had the red wings scored with 30 seconds left.

Im starting to doubt any of these refs will be making it to the next round. The entire series has been a three ring circus of strange no calls, extremely questionable calls and now that goal being disallowed. Theyve been consistently inconsistent about not calling the obvious and getting picky about the strangest things

I'm glad the Hawks won. It would have been terrible to see the red wings win after that call back on the goal.

I agree it was a very schizophrenically called series. That no goal at the end of this game was a joke.

Still was a fun series overall to watch. I'm glad the Wings proved people wrong by taking #2 team down and taking #1 to 7.

It's a shame a fantastic series that will be the last Western Conference meeting for the two is going to be remembered for its atrocious referring. The penalty shot in game 6(yes that was BS), the Shaw slew foot that took out Flippula, the blown no goal at the end of the third.

Gut our forward corps even more? We need secondary scoring more then we need better D. I do agree with Cleary though, he has been getting steadily worse every season. I would get rid of Samuelson and Bert and sign someone younger.

I knew going into this series that it wasn't going to be a quick short series like everyone was expecting, one of the best rivalries in sports is not going to end quietly without controversy its going to drag on and bring everything to hell with it and it definitely did that. By far the best series of the playoffs even with every bit of the controversy that came with it

Since neither Franzen nor Filpulla were actually contributing any offense, they arent going to be missed. You can get what they do -- stand around dumbly in front of goalie [franzen] or circle around the peremeter [filpula] -- from Tatar and some other random AHLer at 1/10th the cost. If they ever want to go back to playing puck possession hockey they need a (a) puck moving defensemen and (b) a power play qb, and preferably a right handed shot. Or if they are going to continue this new, defense first thing they've been doing because Holland stands pat all the time then they need defensemen with intelligence who know how to play positional hockey. Not retards like Erickson, Quincey and Smith who routinely are out of the play or give up turnovers or screen Howard. They also need to move Kronwall down to the role he actually is good at, second pairing D man, so he can stop trying so hard/so that the wings dont have to dependent on his terrible aim to get the puck to the net.

No not in my book. They'll get a pass if I find out they pay Flippula's hospital bill and Shaw gets some kind of punishment from the league for that move in the first period.
