I would prefer Tavares over Ovechkin if it came down to a third
Though that is true I always treat the hard like best play rather than most valuable player. Hmmm.

Goalie Bob should definatley get the Hart and Vezina. Come playoff time I'm rooting for CBJ and NYI
edit: Those two teams would probably make for the worst, least watched cup final ever lol

Fucking terrible giveaway. Talk about a mental lapse. I cannot believe that just happened and Geez Louise guys what the hell are you doing? They're getting slammed. Again.

I don't think stupidly good goaltending is going to stop a team like Pittsburgh or Chicago. Both those teams are stacked with guys who are known for putting Peter Puck in the net. Columbus and NYI aren't really known for being grinders so the chances of an upset like last year. Yeah, I think it's highly unlikely.
Are guys really do make their shots count but heck we have very little control of the flow of any game and this is going to be very problematic when it comes to the playoffs. -_-
As for the Capitals. Shit I really wouldn't want to be the one to play them in the first round either. Habs are getting destroyed.

And the Leafs are finally in!
The drought is over! Now let's go for the other one :D

watching the utterly mediocre red wings and canucks is depressing. 3-4 years ago this would have been a dynamic, exciting matchup. now you have a bunch of AHLers and poor old Datsyuk trying to play with wingers like Tootooo and Abelkader. Shame on you Holland.

You are probably right but the Oilers eliminated one of the best Red Wing teams ever assembled. And JS Gigagre single handedly carried the Ducks into the Cup final against significantly better teams. And as both Quick and Ward teach us, sometimes a fluke goalie gets super hot at the right itme and there is nothing to do.

Outshot 17-2 in third period against Red Wings, wow....
|
Ovechkin is 28 goals in the last 35 games if you don't count the slumpy 10 games of a slow season start for Caps. That's a pace of 65 goals per 82 games, which is like his personal best from 07/08 season. This is of course false statistics, but Caps were very good recently and Ovi does not disappoint a lot. BTW i also agree that Bob is a much more MVP material for his team.

if there's gonna be a lower seed to tear through the playoffs this year, my money's on the broadway blueshirts. Their offense is clicking with Richards and Nash, and their defense remains a strong point, especially with Lundqvist in between the pipes.
the fact that i'm a diehard ranger fan has nothing to do with my feelings on this lol

I got to agree with this, as a Red Wings fan who watched what stupidly good goaltending can do to teams who are much better then yea they can be vulnerable. Pitt and Chi aren't THAT good of teams. I mean they are good but no team today is that much better then everyone else like you used to have.

That's certainly true, it's conceivably that any team can beat any team. But in terms of consistently producing chances and playing hard all the time, CHI/PIT really are the class of the league. The streaks both have been on is good evidence, and PIT not having Malkin/Crosby/Letang for long stretches but still dominating is a great sign for them.

Blue Jackets are one step closer to the playoffs.

Datsyuk was on the fourth[line.

oilers officially eliminated D: cheering for the Blue Jackets now, what a story!

I don't think I can survive the wild collapsing like this down the stretch to one of the teams thats going to be in our new division next year.
|
the wild were playing above what they are on paper all these weeks, so them reverting to the mean is logical. Backstrom lets in 3 goalies and you only have one real scoring forward (Parise). Koivue would be fine on a second line somewhere else, as would Setoguchi, Pomonville and so forth. Theyll still probably make the playoffs as the Wings are just as pathetic as the Wild, but a quick 4-1/4-2 awaits Minny.

We've all seen it and the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks are as good as ever. Not only that, these two teams are as close as we're going to get for the time being to a Fantasy team (note: not dynasty) as they come. Which is really fucking rare no matter how you slice it in a salary crap era. If the Rangers get 8th and they get really red hot sure there's a possibility of an upset. This year? I really don't see it happening.

As a Red Wing fan you should also be aware of what can happen to a team that is a half step off of their game even for a couple minutes against CHI. PIT/CHI arent that much better than the rest of the league, but i dont know if its the water or just great chemistry or what but when these teams are hot there isnt that many teams that can keep up with them for the full 60 minutes. Also what teams are as deep as them and can constantly roll 3-4 lines night in and night out? Both also are in the top 10 for almost every major team category except PP% for CHI.
