Commentators on the Wild/Red Wings game talking about how the drama of reviewing calls would be good for the game.
Bull. Shit.
NFL games last about 3+ hours total broadcast time. At least half of that time (literally) is completely devoid of any actual playing. I don't watch the NHL to watch people sit around while a damn call is reviewed. I watch hockey for some fucking action. Bad calls that warrant a review that aren't goal-related calls are so few and far between that this wouldn't be worth it.
That said, I don't think this high sticking call was a bad call.

Number 1 Leafs Anti Fan!!!!
Also how the fuck are the Sens still winning despite their injuries?
Because they have a good core of youth? Not like people didn't know about Bishop before. Pretty pathetic with regards to the other thing, but hey I like conviction. Only one problem. They're destroying the Lightning and Carlyle finally decided to switch things up by bringing Gardiner back into the mix even though he's not his kind of player.

Good depth everywhere (Binghamton is *still* the 4th best team in the AHL this year, despite all the callups). Granted, with Methot down our defense is starting to wear pretty thin, probably going to have to call up Borowiecki meaning 4 'rookies' on our D. Methot being out also means Gryba wont be insulated anymore and will be an even bigger defensive liability. It could easily start to look real ugly if Methot isn't back soon, but luckily we have a 5 game homestand coming, so Paul and his mighty mustache should hopefully be able to match D pairings well enough to not have the inevitable all rookie pairing against other teams top lines.
Hopefully Silfverberg and Zibanejad keep hitting their stride and improving, that's the main thing I hope for this year is our young guns to start looking like dangerous enough players that we don't have to have Colin Greening on our top line again next year XD

Wow Boyle wins again for SJ with a shootout against Edmonton.
Oh well, Leafs won yay! Was gonna cry if they lost tonight.

Frigging Oilers man. The Ducks and Blackhawks was quite the show too. Cannot wait until they meet up in Chicago.

Why is it pathetic to cheer against a team? I am a Habs fan in a family of Leaf fans and I have slowly gone to hate them. It is a friendly rivalry between me and my brothers. Speaking of which both Montreal and Toronto are tied right now heading into the third.
It's the reasoning and if you look at most anti-fans it's not hard to see why. That game got away from us and we have got to take out the guys in front of the net better. It's becoming an ongoing trend the last 5 games. Next up back-to-back with the Bearskies. Fantastic.

Speaking of which both Montreal and Toronto are tied right now heading into the third. It's the reasoning and if you look at most anti-fans it's not hard to see why. I don't really see where you are getting at. I don't know a lot of anti fans and usually they just hate teams because they are really good. Like the opposite of bandwagon fans :p. Buffalo is really lucky that OT isn't longer. Toronto was really killing them in the last couple of minutes. Toronto really needs to improve their shootouts though. Bozak is the only one who seems to have any clue how to get one in. On another note the Habs had another great game. I thought that their sick run would slow down eventually but they are still going strong .
Shootouts are more luck based than anything else and if you come in with good speed chances are you'll beat the goalie like the Sabres did. In any case, I haven't been happy with their play for a while. We really need to keep the peddle on the medal and stop dropping games that we should have. In either case, I'm looking forward to back-to-back Bruins because some of our boys need to be slammed around a little to get their shit together. Tighter checking please and bend their will.
I can understand the concussion reasoning but Carlyle always found him risky and what do you know. I'm sure he gave him an earful last night for not getting the puck off faster and giving up a few odd man rushes. Gardiner is terrific at getting back and he does amazing things with his stick. I just wished he played the body more and I'm sure that's what Carlyle has been trying to get him to do as well as his positioning. He did the same thing with Kostka too Hawk. Phaneuf has played with so many guys this year.
P.S. Can anyone count the number of times we left someone open in front of the net within the last half of the game alone? The number might shock you. -_- Whether it be the d both chasing/watching the puck or the forwards not properly tying guys up. I find it very alarming and this trend needs to stop now if they want to have any chances moving forward.
PROTECT THE FRONT OF THE NET!

Yeah and it was dumb with Kostka too (and i think Phaneuf played on his off wing to accomodate too, or i am mixing him up with another player). it wastes the talents of the one legit top 2 d they have by saddling him with dudes who shouldnt even be top pairing in the ahl.
i have absolutely no idea why he'd give big time minutes to two ahlers while franson, who is probabably the best dman after phaneuf, gets the 2nd least most minutes.
then again most of his decisions dont make sense. it's like the team wins in spite of his coaching decisions. bozak still leads the team on toi, and kadri, the team's leading scorer, is averaging 15 a night still (and his minutes really not sheltered at all anymore). i still have no idea why theyre forcing grabs to be the shutdown guy when he's got waaayyyy more offensive talent than bozak, who is awful offensively. his strengths are faceoffs and defensive play. Or why they'd trade steckel, who is a great faceoffman and solid 4th liner, for peanuts to make room for lupul rather than sending one of orr/mclaren away.

Phaneuf has played his off-wing several times in the past but not that pairing. I already wrote off when it came to both their minutes early on in the season. Make no mistake. Kostka is really good on D. Like I said before as well, there are a lot of guys who never got a fair shot who are finally getting minutes now. I like rewarding players based off their effort. As for Bozak, the reason why he's getting all those minutes is because he usually plays the full rink and other than Jay McClement, he's our most aggressive penalty killer (there are a few things I didn't like last night), but overall he's impressive at both ends of the rink and he's one of the reasons our PK is currently 6th in the league. Goes back to rewarding what you do at both ends and Grabs has been in Carlyle's doghouse like Liles and Komi. Once you're in the doghouse it's hard to get out. It's funny because the Star just did a write-up about this the other day. As for Steckel we needed a roster slot for Frattin and Lupul's return. It sucks when you have so many guys who contribute in many ways. The reason Steckel became expendable is because of Jay McClement. If you haven't noticed Jay's been taking most of the draws in our end instead of Steckel and that's why David found himself a healthy scratch before we sent him off. As for Orr and McLaren. I like their play and they always step up to fight and win those battles. David is really big too but I like McLaren, Orr and McClement as a unit. Heck these guys generate chances off their cycle when they're playing together and provide more grit. In other words, they take the body and we need more guys to take the body to slow the opposition down. Something we didn't really do last night. Instead there were a lot of guys standing around doing shit. -_-
