Guess the coaching chair is getting a little warmer in Minny. Heater is moving down onto the second line and some rando rookie is taking his place. Well, fingers crossed Yeo, maybe that kid will be the next Cory Conacher. [I dont actually think its Yeo's fault his team is mired in mediocrity but the GMs]

they'd really need some kind of insane turnaround to be a legit contender. Suter and Parise are a big help, but that team still is a couple dmen and a few depth guys away from being more than an outside threat at a 7 or 8 seed. They're putting a lot of hope into granlund to contribute early, and unfortunately guys like Seto and PM Bouchard just really aren't that good if they're not paired with skilled players.

Without Suter back there, Weber cant be nearly as offensive as he used to be. Could be worse, you could have drafted Doughty. Looks like he and Ovechkin are both done with being elite level players.

John Gianone, the Rangers broadcaster between the benches, ate a clearing puck right on the bridge of the nose and in the middle of his forehead. He was just on tv talking while blood is streaming down his face and the trainer is working on him.

As a long-time, devout supporter of the Wild and Vikings, I am perfectly justified in saying that this team is playing like trash. I mean I love the Wild, but really, $200+ million in contracts later and this franchise is no better than they were last year. They haven't improved upon any of the problems from last year, and the only good things they have are Koivu, Parise, Suter, Backstrom, and Granlund. This franchise needs a complete overhaul (again) before it's going to contend for anything.

It's only mildly aggravating to have the best high school and collegiate hockey in the nation, and yet have one of the shittiest professional teams (next to Florida and Columbus).
A sound mind in a sound body, is a short, but full description of a happy state in this World: he that has these two, has little more to wish for; and he that wants either of them, will be little the better for anything else.

They're definitely not trash. They're just not much more than a contender for a low seed I dont think

they looked awful tonight. Just god awful. No one can do anything right, and the fact that this team is touching the cap is pretty alarming. Should trade Setoguchi to a contender, buyout Heatley, let all the UFA go out and play your kids. Sure youll suck then too, but it will be cheaper and lets you stack up picks.

Last year they were God awful and they have yet to show any improvement from last year. Goals/game average last year? 2.02. Currently? 2.10. Goals against last year? 2.65. Currently? 2.80. This team signed about $200 million+ in contracts in the offseason and have nothing to show for it as of yet. I have no idea how you can say they are contending for ANY playoff seed when playing like this.

I think it would be less frustrating if they and everyone else just admitted that they are crap, gave up on this clusterfuck of a team, and completely rebuilt. Keep Granlund, Koivu, Parise, Suter, Backstrom, and start dealing out with the rest. Completely rebuild around this core.

Bouchard is the Streit from a few seasons back of Minnesota: the only player on the entire team with a +/- over 0.

Oil lost 5 in a row. Keeping in the tradition of overreacting Oilers fans, I'm using my makeshift Oilers 2013 Stanley Cup banner from earlier in the season as kindling to burn down Rexall Place

As bad as the Capitals have been this season, I would not be surprised to see them go on a run for bit after the 5-0 win against FLA(or maybe i am dreaming/drunk... with optimiism.) Next game is on Tuesday against FLA again. Strong work along the boards, good forecheck, and a good PK. Also GK Holtby had a stat line of 27 saves, 1 assist. Not bad. Mental Fortitude will build. Still last in the league tho0ugh. Only 5 points back from division leader. My oh my, the SE is bad. Guess that will happen when the Caps are bad.

I had a grin on my face the entire game. Six different guys with a goal. Phaneuf finally gets one, Kessel gets his second and a few good fights... Feels good man.

Weird to see Blues implode completely. Watching the Blues-Wings game the other day and the Red Wings -- I mean the Griffins plus Datsberg -- just smashed them up. Funny to see the Wings go through different iterations, first it was the Russians, then it was the Swedes, now its the Czechoslovaks. Hope that backup is the real deal though, with the terrible play of Quincy, Erickson and Kronwall they'll need a solid goalie.

Not weird to see, Calgary sucking. I cant believe they havent pulled the plug on this team. For god's sake, let Iginla at least get a taste of the Cup again. Otherwise all he will have is that almost-cup almost 8 years ago. Trade him, Kipper and anyone else you can take and at least know that no matter how far you fall the Oilers management will one up you to the basement.

Oilers are so freaking disappointing.
1. Whitney and Potter blow.
2. Hall needs to stop trying 123920820 dangles every game leading to a turnover. I'm actually getting MAD when he does this game after game after game. He's no Eberle or RNH.
3. J. Schultz is amazing.
4. We have to learn how to win a damn faceoff. Winning only ~30% of faceoffs is just sad.
5. We have to score more 5-5 even strength goals. I think we are close to last in the league for even strength goals scored.
6. Dubnyk has been playing well. (Other than that bad game in SJ).

His offense is still way down from his peak years. I totally forgot he hit 20 and was viewed as one of the next big things as far as offensive defensemen. Might be a minorly overpaid based on his recent production but he's definitely still one of the better defensemen in the league. He's definitely not a Jack Johnson type where he's pure offense and fucking horrible in his own end, that's for sure.

speaking of the Leafs, lol

(the team was surprised to learn that four in the corner doesn't protect Staal our front)

i hate to break this to you.
but , the leafs look like a well coached team. Randy Carlyle is doing a good job. As long as Reimer stays healthy the Leafs will finish someplace from 7 to 10 in the east. I was hoping they'd end up in 15th so they could get a decent player.

also, Corey Conacher is pretty rad. It looks like he will take the Mighty Midget torch from St. Louis. Kid's got sharp moves and skates well both with and without the puck
