Don't beat yourself up about it. Herpes is literally one of the most common diseases you can get. It's pretty much guaranteed you know a lot of people who have it, although they might have never been diagnosed with it.
It's stigmatised by modern media but 30 or 40 years ago noone really gave much thought to having cold sores. Globally 1 in 8 people have genital herpes and 4 in 5 people have the other type.
Ironically HSV-1 causes most of the health impacts, while HSV-2 gets all the stigmatism. The common cold is actually a lot more damaging to your health than herpes in most cases.
Just accept that you are now part of literally BILLIONS of people worldwide who have a strain of herpes and part of an estimated ~45,000,000 people who have HSV-2 in the USA.

That gives me a good idea for a new dating website...
But yeah hope it gets sorted, good luck and keep lifting.
80%(?pretty high number) are asymptomatic and dunno they have it , (herpes is not screened for on your standard STD test, contributing further to this) and well the rest of ppl who have it are just fucked up. fuck around with these ppl ur just gonna just get hiv which coincidentally it heightens the risk of. and trying to find someone who loves u enough to accept u with it? thats bullshit no one really knows the facts about it so if u find one willing enough its more likely they'll scatter after u tell them what its really like, first outbreak feels like the flu except you feel like you're gonna die and even if u spend all ur god damn fucking time maintaining a perfect immune system thru diet and exercise( which im sure many of you realize the effort it takes) any form of stress or indulgence will trigger an outbreak, not as bad as the first one but still incapacitating you for a day or so. Also , a whole bunch of random shit like foods with arginine the virus consumes, so u have to balance it with lysine. i've read "success stories" full of drama and stress and u can imagine the ones where they dont end well. "guy breaks up with girl after giving her herpes, gets axe murdered" . and ur partner is gonna get it eventually, condoms only reduce risk by 30%. Oh right and theres the "hey baby theres a chance if u give birth our child will contract it and die instantly because it has no defenses against the herpes virus, just fyi ^_^ "

Sorry, dude, I was actually operating under the assumption you were just worried you had it. Lots of people get a scare, and a little humor can go a LONG fucking way at that point.
I've had scares, and joking about it was the only thing that kept me sane.
If it helps, I've had to run through half my damn phone because of the clap before, but that's a whole different ball game.
One of my roommates from college and best friends has hpv, herpes, and probably other weird stuff, all of which he got while in school. He's a pretty skanky fellow, but a great and loyal friend, and he always said getting through, especially during flareups, was much easier when he forced himself to laugh about it. If you can do that, it can really help.

Could you not just have a caesarean to avoid that?
Yeah you can have a caesarean. I also just thought it was only a major risk to the baby if you have active sores during the birth. Once you've the herpes virus for a while the baby should have the antibodies in its system that the mum has developed so should be somewhat protected (although not 100%).
@HeavOnEarth: I find whenever shit happens it always helps me to shrug and say "shit happens" out loud. I mean, it can always get much, much worse. Your problems might seem serious to you, now, but considering the shit that could have happaned, and the shit which will surely happen in the future, anything short of nuclear apocalypse can be rationalized compared to the big picture.
On an unrelated, dietary note, I thought this video was pretty funny in that sad but true kind of way:

If you hurt your back, it was from an error in form, not a lack of equipment.
Never miss a gym session. Don't know when it may be your last or your partners last. One of the lifters in my club was killed in a car accident today. Less than 24 hours ago we were joking around while was going for squat PRs. The world is a cruel unpredictable bitch but at least the iron always stays the same. Went in today even though I was hungover and slept like shit.
140kg snatch 160kg clean and jerk, first 300kg total R.I.P. Aaron.
Fuck, losing someone close to you is always painful. I can't imagine what it must feel like for you and the rest of your club right now decaf. Sometimes, working as a nurse really upsets me because I get to see some of the worst people who are lucky as shit to have health care here, hogging up precious resources to fix damage they've knowingly done onto themselves over the majority of their lives. That's not even the worst part, @heavenonearth, do not feel like I am pointing fingers at you. I understand we all make bad decisions. I respect that you've recognized it and are willing to get it treated, I do hope the best for you. Some of these fuckers will cause all kinds of preventable diseases like COPD and diabetes type 2 to themselves from smoking and having shitty eating habits but on top of that, they will continue to smoke and sneak in/have family sneak in all kinds of sweets for them. I don't know how much longer I can last in this field and I'm not even done school yet. Looking forward to the next time I hear about having to call security on some patient and his/her family because they smuggled cocaine in for the patient.

That I know, most likely wouldn't happen if I had a belt tho. From now on, fuck results, safety first.
I have never used a belt before two weeks ago when I started. I have heard that it makes your core weaker if you use it all the time? I have never felt like using one would be better for my health and I am not really getting any better results. Should I just use the belt for doing max outs?
nah im good. lift for 2 hours come out fucking beast mode mentality, sure i stress but thats cuz i face the reality of my situations not run away like a bitch playing video games fuck that pro-gaming shit i did this is where i belong
Yeah i don't know what I would do without the gym for stress/anger/depression. Every one went so hard for so long today and we all set some sort of PR.

The recommendation I hear from guys who are actually powerlifters or strongmen (in the competitive sense) and not just recreational, is that there's never a wrong time to start using a belt. Typically those guys also say to drop it on your warm up work, your speed sets, or anything else that's below ~80% of max, and I think that's a good rule. It gives you the core work on lighter weights so that you're not going to become too reliant on the belt, but it gives you that extra feeling of security on work sets, and it gives you experience using this tool - if you wait until you squat, say, 315 for 5 to use a belt, then throw it on and try to hit 325 for 5, you're never going to get it, because you're not used to what the belt does to your mechanics. The sooner you start using it the sooner it can start helping you.
What's the counter argument to this? "you won't have as strong of a core if you use a belt"? piss off. If you can squat 405, I don't care whether it's in a belt or not, you have a strong core. If you think your core is your weak point, stopping you from getting there (hint: it's probably not - it's probably technique... or you need to squat more and harder), go do some weighted situps or hanging leg raises and fix the core, don't just blame it on the belt.

my favorite is the person on the liver transplant list, who's family sneaks them in booze.
"Ma'am, you do understand that now he drops to the bottom of the transplant list, and you may very well have just killed your husband?"
