this is going to be an exceptionally humbling experience, injuries aside I guess they need to realize if your going to stubbornly stick to a style of play be good enough to pull it off against the best.

But flexibility has never been there strong suit.

barcelona in a slump, they only got to the semi finals of the most difficult tournament in the world!

I wake up at 2:30 am to see CL games and today when I saw Messi injured, I just wanted to go back to sleep. The only tiny tiny tiny hope we had disappeared 1h before the game even started. Good first half, but against a Bayern that didn't want to risk anything so it's not like we can even say we dominated them

0-3 and still hearing 'Barca, Barca, Barca'. Like last year after Messi missed the penalty against Chelsea. The only source of happiness for tonight is that the socios aren't ungrateful bitches :D

Imo the biggest problem Barcelona have to face after this season is:

They have no competent coach who will help them create a plan B. Without Puyol they have no defense. Without Messi they have no offense.
And Puyol is old.

Making me so happy that all my indictments of Barcelona's style are being trumpeted in this game. One dimensional, physically unimposing, tactically thin, too much dalliance and reliance on bullying teams which haven't clocked on to your style. If you beat their Fifa style ultra aggressive press with good passing then they get tired and sloppy. And then you realise that without Messi they are significantly worse against top level opposition. Not happy to see Barça, such a proud team, get beaten in such a way. But I love to watch this era of Barça get beaten from a purely style perspective, by a team who plays infinitely more attractive football than them. Long sweeping counter attacks, crosses, top quality defence, efficient forward movement. And to think Chelsea beat a team composed of largely the same players in THEIR stadium last year. Incredible.

Was Robben one of the players who would have to miss the finals if he got a yellow?

Have to agree sc4k, I really don't like the constant passing at all. The only time I like Barca is when Iniesta/Xavi/Messi are just doing their magic, but against tough opposition it quickly becomes sour and boring. Dortmund and Bayern are playing football the way I grew up with.

Well in that respect Guardiola wasnt particularly competent either.

This recent Barca team has never had a plan B, they rely on not having to use one. You and I may not agree with that but thats their identity. If they suffer for it and figure it out the hardway then so be it. Its good for the game in general.

Yeah I agree with you.

And also if I were a Bayern fan I'd hate Hoeneß for bringing in Guardiola and replace Heynkes.
This is 100% Heynkes' team.

This is his Super Bayern.

Why are we talking about plan B when the failure comes from a lack of physical shape and a clear lack of hunger for titles? Always the same arguments, always the same answer. A Barcelona of the good days would probably be superior to this Bayern...

Squad is paper thin as well if you really look into it.

Goalkeeper - Valdes isn't "world class" his replacement...Pinto he justs causes agro!

Wingbacks - This is the only place Barca have cover now. Alba Alves Abidal Adriano (4 is good number)

Centre Backs - They have 2..Puyol and Pique, everyone else is so below par it is untrue (Masch and Bartra!) They need to spend on 2 new CBs imo

Central Midfielders - Xavi Busquets Song Thiago (not shown he is good enough) Johnathon (not shown he is good enough) About the only ones right who are ACTUAL CMs of some description. They need to buy one, some youngster and bring Masch back into DM role and maybe play with 2 or move Busquets a bit further forward

Attacking Midfielders - Fabregas Iniesta could do with another say Isco a nice youngster to bring through and use to add squad rotation

Wingers - Pedro Sanchez Tello that is about it? Tello isn't that good, and Pedro and Sanchez are up and down. They need another winger! Especially if they play Messi as a Striker >.<

Strikers - Messi and Villa. Ok i guess that is enough if your going to play 1 striker a week and it's going to be Messi so poor David Villa hardly plays, and if he does he gets forced outwide But they could do with a nice youngster, like a Bojan but a bit better.

So all in all Barca are probably short. 1x CM 1x(maybe 2x) CB 1x Winger 1x Striker and arguably a world class Keeper to make them unbeatable again

IMO...
