So my harmstring injury is a lot better :D Today I FS without pain at all.
FS: 100kgx3x15 (32 mins)
Also, because I felt awesome did extra 5 sets. 100% recommend isolation leg machines (not leg extension, they suck) as a way to pump blood into legs. Gonna keep doing that everyday, prolly even after injury. 30 ligh reps, stretch, rinse and repeat. Also doing self massage at nights, and basically everything I can so I can squat pain free again.

Yesterday first time deadlifting since I was cleared to workout again, DL'd 250x5, first 2 reps kinda tough b/c of grip issues, chalked up and the last 3 were EZPZ
|
Deadlift day. Was aiming at 10 reps at 135kg for a new rep record but my grip gave up on the 6th rep. Had to use straps for the rest and I managed 7 more so I'm not sure wether or not im gonna count this as a rep record or not.

Today: Squat 1x3 80, 102.5kg, 122.5, 1x1 142.5, 162.5, 175kg PR, 1x2 160kg BP 1x5 45, 55, 1x3 72.5, 3-3-4 90kg - Wasn't very hard so I did an extra rep on the last set for fun. Pull ups 3-3-2 +35kg Chin ups 1x5 - very minor discomfort, should be good to go in a few weeks.
Off to the airport in a few hours. Hopefully the cruise ship gym will atleast have a pullup bar and somewhere to do dips.

190 squat today. If everything goes well, I'll do 195 tomorrow, break 200 on Monday, and hit 225 two weeks from tomorrow. Feels easy right now, it's good to be back.

some vids!
Deadlift day ---
Started with some easy kneeling to box jump (47inch box)
+ Show Spoiler +
Then worked up to 485lbs x3 reps. It is not a max rep***
+ Show Spoiler +
Followed with a shitload of trap bar deadlift from deficit and some good mornings and weighted leg raises.
I weigh-in at 178lbs first thing in the morning.

Doing triples with almost my 1RM, fuck you.
How do you do the good mornings? (form, reps/sets, speed, anything else)

Like Wendler says; rarely over 135lbs with a total volume of around 80-100 reps., sets of 15-20.

on 5/3/1 the recommended rep/sets of good mornings is 5 sets of 12 reps. he states that you don't have to do crazy amounts of weight with good mornings.

True. And form experience, you can go really high volume and get great results.

I love the sport but it doesn't love me back. I don't feel like doing Oly lifts and I'm too old to do things I don't feel like doing ahah.

Yeah... I'm making steady gains week to week since my lifts aren't that close to my FS yet and I'm a very new weightlifter being only 2 months in. I'm thinking my progress will slow down the closer I get to 90% of my FS (on the CJ, with snatch being 20-35kg less than that).
As for videos... hmmm maybe I'll get my coach to video to take one of me soon. I don't really want videos of myself until I'm down to 77kg-85kg (I'm vain like that lol). ATM I want to compete in the provincial competitions at 77kg but first I'll cut down to 85kg and see how I feel and look then.
All I've been doing the since beginning of September (Most of August was technique work 3+ times a week with my coach starting with the stick and 10kg bar) is
MWF: Snatch (90-100+%) Clean and Jerk (90-100+%) Front Squat (Back Squat Wed) to max (heaviest I can do that day)
Sat: (Technique Focus with Coach, used to work with Coach 3+ times a week in August but now that the university semester is underway I can only make to commute to his gym once a week) Snatch Clean and Jerk (both at 70-85%)
