5 goals in the 2nd half. Can't ask for more.

He was like that alot early on in his career actually. Puyol and Valdez when they were fresh were question mark central.
It was just a brain fart, hes still a good keeper.

GG Valdez, lol. I fancy that it's only a 1 goal difference though, should make for a much better game in the second leg.

I hope Mourinho works all the Madrid players that played tonight like fucking dogs until the next game. That was fucking embarrassing. They got lucky that Valdez is such a shitty keeper.

I think it's harder to look good as a keeper playing for Barca or any major club. Normally you will only be tested 2-3 times each match but you need to keep your concentration up the whole 90 minutes so that you are ready for those few situations. Oliver Kahn for example always stated how hard this is and that he needed a lot of time to get used to when he made the switch from Karlsruhe to Bayern. If you play at a relegtation battler you have way more chances to prove yourself and even if one of your mistakes leads to a goal you will have plenty of opportunities to make up for it.

I don't know. I'm more inclined to believe that he is not that good goalkeeper. He has beastly protection up front and when he does get called to action it's not that big of a deal (if i'm wrong feel free to prove it, i'm just saying what i've saw). Personally i believe that Casillas, Reina, de Gea and Alves are better goalkeepers (i put de Gea here because he also sometimes can have brainfarts like Valdes, but i think he has much better reflexes and is generally better shot stopper, just give him time to develop even more) so i'm a bit baffled why does he get called up to representation so much, except the fact that he is Barca keeper.

Yep Azpi left Marseilles, confirmed by french media, for 8m€ + bonuses. He's a fast, offensive right defender, pleasant to watch because he is always at 100%. He arrived young in Marseille and suffered a very serious injury right away, but he recovered very well and was one of the few good consistent player in his team last year. I don't know if he's good enough to be in the starting 11 of Chelsea, but he's still young and definitely has a lot of potential
PS: you wrote Marsielle for Marseille, and I believe it's Marseilles in english

You telling me he has alot of pace, is the reason he will go straight into the line up. Ivanovic is a beast, but boy is he slow and gives away SO MANY FOULS vs pacey wingers (look at reading game for example) As much as i like Ivanovic, i think id rather see him as a CB cover as well as emergency right back cover. Luiz is being the talk of the town of transfer speculation, having the view it is just speculation, if he was to leave i think we would be ok if we just had Iva as cover for RB and CB.

I can't wait to play a Chelsea in FM now. With all these signings, it's going to be fun. And finally a defensive recruit, I was getting bored of buying wingers after wingers ...

I'm not sure I would let him replace Ivanovic, he may give away fouls but doesn't get himself sent off too much and he is much more defensive minded than many right backs in the league. I've always been a fan of having the one wing back who attacks (Cole) and the one full back who defends, having Ivanovic is kinda like having 3 CBs when it gets down to corners, he is strong as an ox and he also finishes so well when he gets forward. Mourinho was trying to sign him because he believes he is one of the best players in Chelsea.
Bottom line is I think I'd like a rotation between the two to keep them fresh, putting on Azpi against teams with retarded pace on the wing and Ivanovic against teams with less pace.

God damn, that's expensive. When considering the prices of bringing in players like Michu or Moses, both under 2.5 mill and, well, most of everton's team. Can't say I paid any attention to Wolves so not really knowledgable about how good Jarvis is but that's a massive chunk of change, gives Wolves a lot of room to play with trying to buy players so they don't fail miserably this season in the Champ.

BUT there is no question pace beats him all ends up, and as rightback/leftback you need that pace. I'd much rather see him alongside JT to be honest anyway and i think he would prefer to play there as well. His crossing going forward is also another reason why he was never destined to be a right back
Fair point, he does fit well as a CB/RB backup. Aside from left back, it's going to be pretty hard to choose a Chelsea defensive player who's going to play in fantasy any given week lol.
