Well Matteo won the CL but i doubt it's due to its tactical genius considering how Chelsea has been playing since the beginning of the season...

Anyway that is not the point, i am standing up for him, the manager who has bought you the only success you have had in decades...

As for Benitez, he was piss poor simply because he just simply didn't have the fund to bolster the team, losing good players and such... and yeah the debt, we're almost gone bankrupt.

I know he was working with fuck all at Liverpool, thats the reason he got alot of respect in the managerial world because he did so much with such a poor squad. He had 4 gifted players in Alonso/Masch/Torres/Gerrard. Rest were average. In other news, betting has been suspended on Harry Redknapp becoming the next Ukraine manager, very interesting...

Liverpool had a brilliant squad, maybe not the best in the world at the time, but it certainly had some world class players at the time.

Compare Liverpool 2005 to Juve/Milan/Barcelona... it wasn't that great at all.

On to the topic, I have full certainty that Benitez won't be your next manager, I'm sure Roman would prefer a 'much better' manager, given him willing to pay quids for the man to get the job done.

![]() We're slowly but surely will get back to winning days, top 4 is a priority for us this season, a cup or two would be very neat! January is coming and if we can strengthen our squad, we'll get there..

You weren't there when we were winning, when we had real ambitions, when we actually competed. I know that every club goes through fluctuations, but this club is consciously deciding to turn into a middle tier club. If you're content with that, good for you. I hope another 7 years of drought serves you well. I for one, will save myself the pain and heartache. Loyalty, patience, and faith indeed.

Absolutely magnificent. Now, let's hope Olympiakos will show a nice performance in germany and if we happen to win that would be great.

Liverpool had a brilliant squad, maybe not the best in the world at the time, but it certainly had some world class players at the time. There was no Torres or Mascherano in that team.. Xabi Alonso was in his first season out of Sociedad and was decent at best at the time. He developed into a real boss during his time in the following years at Liverpool The big dogs were the Dity Hammans and the Smicers.. and lolol Milan Baros. That teams was totally medicore at best. Theyre most creative player after Stevie G was Luis Garcia (remember him? Obviously not since you put Torres in that team.) Also Stevie G carried that team hard in the final like a boss. With a little help from Smicer. Xabi alonso was decent too. O and yeah that pen shootout performance with Dudek jumping around like a mongrel got him a spot on Reals subs bench till the end of his career. Not a terrible deal. so they got carried hard. They were a weak team that placed below Everton in the league. But there is nothing wrong with that. + Show Spoiler + Mind you he also got them through against Olympiakos that year (you know that famous o you beauty ! goal, fuck I miss Andy Grey) Now if your talking about did well as in coming second in the league one year? Well fuck that, in that case Claudia Raneiri has the TM on that. Just doing well. No one ever gives him any credit for being a great manager. Cuz hes not. Hes just average. Rafa on the other hand took that shit team to a final (ok the carrying aside) came second in a close race (which he shouldve won but w/e) and orchestrated Valencia winning league titals. That having been said hes been pretty shit in his formative years at Pool and Inter. To much micromanagement and hard headedness. Drogba carried a piss poor Chelsea team to the CL. Thats knockout football.
