Think the rack position is a bit too high since you have to tip toe. But yea best workout shirt .

That is my main problem Basically stuck for almost a year now because I just can figure out to go deeper than that with more than 90kg I try to force myself deeper but all that happens is my ass travels back instead of down and my chest comes down and I struggle to unfold again on the way up.

I just said fuck it after I took that video and started loaded again until 110. Then tried 100kg this week to see if I can go deeper now. Nope, just the exact same issue I had 3 months ago. My legs aren't even working hard at all but I just fold in when I try to go below parallel.

Take some videos so we can help you. If you feel like your ass is traveling back instead of down, make sure your knees are moving forward. If you just fold over and do squatmornings, try high-bar squats so there is less stress on your lower back. Alternatively, it could just be that your core is weak and you lose tightness when going down. Videos would be useful though

I am doing high-bar. I have read so much about squats over the last month, but I just can't get it right in action. I know where my body has to move but I just can't get it to do it.

I did post a couple of videos in September (including the one above) but I can record more, sure. I don't think anything has changed though.

It looks a bit low for high bar but it could just be the angle. I would try letting your knees move forward a bit more at the bottom.
Here's a couple of videos of me squatting + Show Spoiler +



At the bottom, my knees come out a lot because that's really the only way you can keep the bar balanced. Second video's a bit old and I was just starting to high bar squat but it's the same story.

Try stretching out your calves. Foam rolling them (tennis ball rolling, wine bottle rolling, etc.) would be good as well. If you see no improvement doing that then move onto another part of the hip/leg region such as the hip flexors.

Like infinity said, it seems the bar is a little low, and you have a little more forward lean than "High bar" - seems like more of a hybrid to me. You're also definitely starting the motion by "sitting back" which is more the cue for low bar squatting, whereas with high bar squatting your back is more upright, and as a consequence the path feels more like "up and down".

I found my high bar squat felt tremendously more comfortable when I got my adipowers. The raised heel makes a huge difference in what feels "right" for the knees, and still allows you to keep balance. Look at how little infinity's hips move back, compared to how his knees come forward and his back stays upright, and contrast with your video. I think that's why you're not getting where you want to go.

So routes for improvement are calf/ankle stretching, the plate under your heels trick, or getting a pair of shoes, and I think you'll see a big difference.

I don't really get the discussion. These are really good squats, there is not so much that needs improving. A little bit more depth and maybe a wider stance, so that you can squat a little bit more between your legs (though impossible to tell with that angle).
I would suggest you buy some weightlifting shoes. Flat shoes just suck for squatting. That alone would probably take care of the depth problem altogether.

I think this is easily one of my favourite threads on TL. So, I'm looking to run a half marathon in about 7-8 months and figure I might as well get started training for it as I have absolutely no ability to run long distances, only experienced as a sprinter really. Does anyone know of/have/can recommend training regimes to prepare for a half marathon?
