Seriously, everyone always says tighten your core, but I never figured out how to do it until the physio explained it to me. Today's squats (137.5kg 3x5) were the squats with the best technique I've had in months and it felt great. It was fucking hard, but I never felt like I'd fall forward, the only question was if my legs had the strength to move me up and down. wanna elaborate a little? pulling your shoulder-blades together like hardcore really helps too. in the past i was just pulling them together a bit and getting under. but either my mobility got a bit better or i pulled tighter and its a big help. I'm not sure if I can explain this properly, but this is how the physio explained it to me. If you place your fingers on your hip bones, move them 2cm towards your belly button and 2-3cm towards your toes, your fingers should be one one of your core muscles (not sure which one, maybe someone can clarify?). Push down lightly. When you try to push your belly button towards your back (don't suck it in, it shoudln't really move just tighten), you'll feel the muscles under your fingers flex which means your core muscles are tightened. I had to exercise that until I could keep them tight for 10 seconds while breathing normally. Now in between each rep with squats, I push my belly button back to tighten those muscles. As a result, everything just feels much more stable. I uploaded a video a week back of 125kg 3x5 squats, and by the fourth and fifth reps, I was starting to lean forward a bit. With my core tightened yesterday, I squatted 137.5kg 3x5 and never felt close to leaning forward. Everything just went up and down the way it was supposed to. I almost got stuck under the bar because my legs were failing at the end of the third set, but my back stayed tight.
yeah a few weeks ago i experienced what seemed like a huge difference where your legs REALLY are doing the work . good progress :3 i guess lol

Still losing weight even going to PT. Good news is that my rotator cuff issues were sorted.

That sucks. I think the Crohn's is trying to go nuts again, so I might join you in losing. Although I've got some leftover prednisone from last time I saw my doc, so I might just have them give me a slip for bloodwork and start taking the stuff, since I'm rather familiar with the symptoms.

Yeah, that's nasty stuff. Good news is I'm losing slowly, and I'm starting to get good apetite, or at least better.

today:
bench 75kg 7-7-8 ish
|
Started on Clen on Saturday, so I've cut off all carbs other then some vegetables and an apple a day pretty much.
Workout today: squat 1x3 77.5, 97.5, 112.5, 1x2 132.5, 2x2 152.5kg BP 1x5 47.5, 57.5, 67.5, 77.5, 3x1 92.5 L pull ups 3x5
Wasn't a very good workout. I'm not sure if it was due to the lack of caffeine (I usually take about 400mg before I train) or something else. The bench felt a lot weaker than Thursday, I was fully expecting to do 3x3 with that weight without much problem.
I also had some cry baby whine at me for benching in the power rack. He literally spent his entire workout complaining to everyone around him about it, even after I was done with the rack.

last day of smolov: 10x3x135kg
this was hard, but still doable. although my back and legs are completely dead now
lol@gymidiots luxae in my gym, people generally use the power rack as a coat or towel hanger

I used to get really angry over stuff like this, until it happened enough times that I just started shrugging and saying "nothing I can do about it,man. I'll be done in X minutes".
To be fair on the guy, aside from him being a little bitch about the whole thing, his squat was pretty good. Well, for a HB squatter anyway!

I'm still benching more than I squat. All of my wat.

No, Clen is a stimulant and a thermogenic, though that's a pretty common mistake. It's basically a stronger version of ephedrine, if you're familiar with that.

From Crank, yeah :p
On a related note, I think I need to cut down my coffee intake. Every day I wake with a sick feeling in my stomach and if I don't have a cup of coffee before lunch I get a headache :/

Had the most epic weekend ever, unfortunately it ended with me dislocating my shoulder while wrestling with my boss at 7 in the morning after 15 hours of drinking

I should have probably mentioned that I've been on a low carb diet for a few months now, so I've just cut off the last 50g or so of carbs I was eating. I doubt that's what did it really.

It seriously is, I'm thinking. Low-carb >>> next to no carb for energy when you're at the gym. Unless you were finding somewhere else to use the energy from those 50g of carbs? :S

Carb cycling is best for strength/leanness combo in my opinion. 3 days low carb followed by eating half a pizza at night turns you into hulk for the next morning.
Also I'm fucking pissed watching some of the olympics, what a bunch of random elitist sports that no one does over raw powerlifting -_-. Fencing, curling, and some types of rowing/archery/shooting are a fucking joke, I don't care how long their history is, those aren't competitive nor popular sports anymore -_-.

they might have an audience in some countries ,
like in england we NEVER have basketball or baseball (afaik), but in other countries those are top things
or like volleyball... we probably dont have that in england but in aus it might be super popular and watched all the time (who knows)
