Things i learned this weekend: What is meant when my coach yells "more feet" at me : For the snatch/clean the goal is to push your feet into the ground in order to move them into the catch/squat position the faster you move your feet from one to another the more power you are exerting and the more power you are exerting the faster the bar moves and the rest of the movements take care of themselves. You have to start thinking about jumping under the bar immediately after you pull it because if you wait till you finish your pull to get under it your brain takes a fraction of a second to send that signal to your body and thats too long so you have to just go straight to thinking about jumping under the bar if you want to get there fast enough to move heavy weights and to jump under the bar you need to move your feet fast hence, "more feet". same thing on the jerk if you think dip drive push get under split etc you wont get under the bar fast enough so you just unlock your knees and then immediately and only think about splitting your feet the faster you split them the more power you exert the higher the bar goes and the faster you get under it the faster you split your feet the farther you can move them the better you can get under the bar the more weight you can move which leads me to the next point of not thinking from the start once i get my grip and sit down as soon as i'm relaxed i pull it. and then take a second to get my jerk grip and the weight over my heels and then jerk it resulting in less thinking so i dont get in the way of myself. and i'll prob put my snatch vids from comp up tonight

Long story short, there is no space between the second and third pulls. The third pull is simply a continuation of the second pull.

Super light weight after being out of the gym for two weeks. I'm dipping down into a full overhead squat every time now, and it's so much harder but so much more fun. Hoping that I can snatch 100kg by my birthday in May; my current PR is 65kg, but that was a high power snatch so I think fixing my form and increasing my pull power a little will make it possible.

I'm pretty sure that my second pull is not as complete as it could be as well. I know that on the clean it's OK to bend your arms slightly to get the bar to hit the right spot, but how about the snatch? Even at the widest grip allowed by the bar I hit myself in the dick with it at the top of the second pull, so I have a tendency to bend my arms slightly during it... wondering if it's OK to do this from the first pull.

It just strikes me as redundant. Its for working on flexibility/muscle memory. IMO work on getting under the bar sooner, even though it is a light snatch. i like to do some high hang snatches with 40-60kg to work on really getting under the bar with speed when i warm up. I can see 100kg snatch in your future! Also, get some meat on your bones, i feel like you're going to snap in half with weight overhead :-p Other than that it looks pretty good. and +1 for lifting in spandex.

I just threw it up 2nd time, but it was hanging on my head and gladly i was quick enought to let it drop on my back not on head and then let it drop down. Dam, snatching is fun, my favourite thing now.
