After you complete a set it seems like you achieved so much more than when you just go to parallel..

Actually, I recently noticed that I never did "parallel". I always went for "full ass to grass" squats without knowing I was :o.

also, saw this on facebook lol: ![]() On February 23 2011 14:40 AoN.DimSum wrote: Im not sure what its called but I did this hardcore ab exercise. First u lay on your back. Then you have to lift one leg up and bend your knee at a right angle. Then with both hands, try to push away your knee while you try to bring your knee towards you. While doing this, you have to do leg raises with the other leg. so hard lOl. The oly gym at my uni is right next to the main gym. So sometimes these tools come in and do arm workouts with the dumbells. I actually got annoyed/mad since he was right next to my platform doing faggy arm exercises haha Obv should have clean and jerked 100. except thrown the barbell at him instead of over your head. Makes my mind boggle o.O It's not as impressive as it sounds, i can do 3x5 @ 110 pretty easy but i doubt i could do the same 55kg dumbells.

Daniel Age: 20 || Height: 1.68 || Weight: 80kg-ish Weight goals -- I recently came back from a 4 months break from training, so my short terms goals are to get back to where I was then, which is squatting 1x5 142.5kg (1x5 125kg right now, jumping 5kg every week), benching 1x3 90kg (1x3 85kg right now, jumping 2.5kg every week), pressing 1x3 67.5kg (1x4 62.5 right now, jumping 2.5kg every week) and deadlifting 1x5 155kg (I'm experimenting with Sumo Deadlifts now, last workout was 1x5 140kg, jumping 5kg every week). Training goals -- Short term goals are to get back to my previous weights, during which time I'll be trying to drop down my bodyfat to around 11-12%. Currently using Madcow's 5x5 program (which is loosely based on Bill Starr's 5x5). Nutrition goals -- starting Lyle McDonald's Ketogenic Diet in the near by future, once I get stuck. Misc goals -- none that I can think of really.

I just ended up setting up on the side and did my sets and left while they were dicking around. I didn't need the platform since the weights I was using were so small and I wasn't dropping it. I cant imagine standing on 10+ feet of stacked chairs let alone doing handstands on them. Moar vids! (200 pound dips? )No lifting today. Weird to say that on a wednesday for me. Hopefully i'm feeling good by friday, my friend from out of town should be here...can't let him show me up with no 90 snatch or 115 cj (about as strong as dimsum, excpet 23kg heavier...still trying to wrap my head around the concept of a 1.5bw snatch) 10 hours of sleep a day, some ibprofen, and not lifting is working wonders for me.

I broke my pinky finger playing football without realising (thought it was just jarred) and deadlifting with it was really painful. I'm pretty sure it contributed to making the injury much worse so it might be worth giving up deadlifts for a while (the other lifts I did all seemed to be fine).

So I made the decision to switch over to 5x5 for squats, ohp, and bench press permanently today instead of just throwing it in there now and again. Did ohp 5x5 at 80 lbs, which was my previous 3x5. Apparently i'm not pushing this lift enough. I'll have to reset bench absolutely... maybe this will help me get past that plateu. The rate I'm going, ohp is going to catch bench! Deadlift reset is going well, fixed some small form isssues and should be going for three plates by the end of march. Did a MAJOR squat reset today - from 215 down to 155, and started to full squat for 5x5 instead of to parallel for 3x5. Those is a whole.new kind of exhaustion, I am amazed with what my body was just able to do. Almost got stuck more than once even though the weight didn't feel so heavy until the last two sets. Can't wait to progress to doing real weight here. Its also six months since I started lifting (not counting the month off for finals/christmas gym closing) so I guess its time for those pictures I mentioned... just suddenly feel like its not enough progress, but I gotta stay accountable somehow :p.

When it's a serious press in a serious situation I just don't fall. I've had maybe one or two close encounters but otherwise it's been pretty solid. Chair handstands are easier to control than ground/regular ones. My handstand isn't exactly the most solid ever though... could be better. I can definitely hold longer than a minute fairly consistently though On February 24 2011 10:07 AoN.DimSum wrote: wow awesome video eshlow! I'm guessing thats your friends account?
