Redid my last horrible workout, still weaker then I was before the meet but it was better then last time.

Decided to reset back to cycle 2 of the 3/5/1 instead of moving on to round 3. It may be that it is not enough but we'll see. Also locking down on the assistance work.

Feels good to have it structured again.

Pretty pleased with reaching almost all of my goals for 2011! As always I was a bit too optimistic with my bench press goals lol. But 15kg in a year isn't that bad, considering how long it took me to breach the 100kg wall.

Weight goals -- 170 lbs at 10% bf
I want to get stronger and leaner. Going to try leangains first to see how it works for me.
If I can't make good strength gains, since it takes more priority for me atm, I might go for 185 lbs at ~18% bf then cut.
Training goals -- No idea if I'll reach or exceed any of these but might as well have some #s
squat - 300 (175x5 atm)
DL - 300 (haven't started)
BP - 185 (125x5 atm)
press - 130 (haven't started)
Chin-ups - BW + 45 lbs (BW+25x1 atm)
Nutrition goals -- start eating more paleo. I have no problems cooking stuff for myself but often skip out on veggies simply out of laziness so that is something else I need to fix.

Man I was pretty optimistic about my squats (265) lol
Beat my DL (315) and BP (195) goal but haven't maxed out press.
Smashed my chin-up goal (BW+65) :D

Eshlow and other nutrition experts. What do you all think of this?

Fasting for over a year with no ill side effects

Abstract
+ Show Spoiler +
A 27-year-old male patient fasted under supervision for 382 days and has subsequently maintained his normal weight. Blood glucose concentrations around 30 mg/100 ml were recorded consistently during the last 8 months, although the patient was ambulant and attending as an out-patient. Responses to glucose and tolbutamide tolerance tests remained normal. The hyperglycaemic response to glucagon was reduced and latterly absent, but promptly returned to normal during carbohydrate refeeding. After an initial decrease was corrected, plasma potassium levels remained normal without supplementation. A temporary period of hypercalcaemia occurred towards the end of the fast. Decreased plasma magnesium concentrations were a consistent feature from the first month onwards. After 100 days of fasting there was a marked and persistent increase in the excretion of urinary cations and inorganic phosphate, which until then had been minimal. These increases may be due to dissolution of excessive soft tissue and skeletal mass. Prolonged fasting in this patient had no ill-effects.

Crazy if it's true. I assume he probably used vitamin pills/supplements to get all of his nutrition needs.

Edit: The actual study

it means you got a hemorrhoid. Squats can irritate roids. You gotta lay off something so it can heal up. I got one from celiac disease. I was squatting 2x a week and it got bad. I had to stop doing normal squats because it hurt so bad to #2.

Whats up guys, just got back from a day at the gym where me and my friend found our max lifts. Felt so damn good to just try and move as much weight as possible and heres an update of from when i started to where im at now.

Starting bodyweight- 150lbs
Bench/OHP- 0 (Had a dislocated AC joint)
Sqaut/Deadlift- 105lbs for both

Current bodyweight- 165lbs
Bench- 195lbs (wanted 205lbs so bad)]
OHP- 125lbs
Squat- 255lbs
Deadlift- 325lbs (Prolly could of gotten 330lbs but didn't realize till i left that this would of been 2x bodyweight)

All in all im pretty happy with my main lift progress cant wait for next years thread to start so i can post some new goals!

gym - stretch - protein shake- sauna - food - nap is the best recovery method, ever.
2nd day of smolov was easier than first one, even though I got massively drunk last night and slept like 6 hours. Gonna repeat today. :D:D. It's like i'm recovered after my nap, and don't even need sleep. I could prolly go squat now.

Squat: 100kgx8x3, 105x5, 115x2x2, 120x1

Added some light OHP, my shoulder feeling better. I didn't mention it earlier, but during my drunk week (2 weeks ago) I hurt my shoulder, either from unracking power cleans, or doing side flags and one arm pushups drunk bragging. (Ifriends told me I do that :p)

Well you have to see what works for you. What I did was stop doing normal squats. Deadlifts are still ok for me to do. some people cant. What i do now is deadlifts and barbell sumo squats. If you are getting pressure in your butthole region then you will irritate your roid. Wide stance squats didnt seem to bother me that much. If you get really low then they could but i just go parallel and dont feel it there. You can also try front squats and see.

What doesnt work is squats or box squats though

Nutrition goals -- Working towards cutting out grain products. Keep eating meat/dairy like its my job. Eat more veggies/fruits.

Misc goals -- Win Division 2 Collegiate rugby nationals, Go undefeated next season in the fall all the way back to nationals again. Begin competing in the 94kg class for oly lifting. 3.5 GPA, get internship and into law school. Win at life.

Deadlift - hit 525, not bad.
Squat - has actually gone down. i've been doing ATG though and not focusing on them as much as i thought i would. hopefully i'll have time to squat more this year
Bench - havent done this at all. still upper 200's so w /e
Press - no clue, only been doing jerks
Snatch - Broke my goal by 1kg!
CJ - short of goal by 4kg, but improved by 31! (still time to hit 150!!)

I'm going to set my goals for 2012 today. I started lifting in July this year, for a little bit I slacked, and this year I'm going all or nothing.

Before || After
Weight: 145lbs || 172 lbs
Bench: 115lb || 205lb
Squats: 175lb || 275lb
Deadlift: 175lb || 315lb
OHDP: 45lb(x2) || 60lb(x2)
Dips: 4 rep || 10 rep (+75lb)

Since then I've done a 335lb Deadlift, 285lb Squat, & 65lb OHDP... I really want to use other exercises to monitor my progress, hmm I'll add pull-ups I suppose, maybe rows but eh, lats is where it's at! ^^

Goals:

Weight: 175lb(MAYBE 180lb, I'm only 5'10")
Bench: 275lb
Squat: 345lb
Deadlift: 405lb (4plate lets go)
OHDP: 90lb(x2)
Dips: 10 rep (+135lb)
Pull-up: 10 rep (+45lb) [I can do 4-6~ bw pull-ups right now T_T)

I think these numbers will keep me motivated. Looking at the progress I've had in the last 5 months, I think it's attainable, if I manage those numbers, I think I'll tell myself, that's enough, and I'll focus on trimming down fat and what working on flexibility and what not. In the meantime, I have something to strive for!

Edit: All 5 reps ofc.

if you have haemorriods i think you would probably know due to irritation and being able to feel a lump around your anus hole.
idk for sure tho but what im saying is you should DEFINATELY talk to your doctor about it and he will probably ask you for a stool or urine sample. a number of things can cause you to bleed, up to and including tumors (happened to me)
i had haemorroid recently, didnt bother to read about it tbh. nice to know it was caused by my squat efforts LOL
