I feel relieved, dunno I know today will be one of the greatest gym sessions ever. I need to let a shitload of anger go, and the IRON will KICK ME BACK TO ME PLACE!.

Fuck Yeah. I love that quote ;O. <3sJarl & Energies.

Also, never never never think of cheating, cause even if you don't do it, you might get dumped anyway lol. ;p.

No fucking shit. Hahaha

We all turned into snobs. But we are in a right position to look down on gheyz who do curls. Like, people always ask me why I don't do Leg Press. and I'm like "Cause it's ez cake. no point. no challenge" .

I always do some leg presses at the gym. It's pretty hard one leg at a time.

Yeah, I've turned into a huge gym snob too. "Shitty ROM and bad bar control" or "why the hell is that guy using the vagina pad on the bench press" are common thoughts that run through my head in the gym.

I kind of want to work out at home to improve concentration, but I live in a sardine can so even if I had the money for an olympic set I wouldn't have the space.

#1 I've been doing the SS for about a month now. However I've started to have some small discomfort in my back hips after deadlifting. It's especially evident when I lay down the barbell after a deadlift.

#2 Other than that I'm making progress in the weightroom. All numbers are with the 20kg barbell added in.

Squating 55 kg
Benchpress: 40kg
Deadlift: 95 kg is my max, but I'm taking it easy after the discomfort to avoid any injuries and figuring out if my form is right or wrong.

After reading all your comments about powercleans makes me want to give it a go sometime. Gonna focus on my form in the basic exercises first. They feel hard enough technically as it is.

Advocado, post a video of your form, have a friend or set up a camera to record yourself, so we can check out on your form.

Nonetheless, Deadlift is a pretty lower back intense exercise, some "pain" isn't abnormal.

Are you familiar enough with your body to distinguish between intense soreness and pain? Are you a regular gym goer who just started SS, or played contact sports in the past? I know a ton of people who consider soreness "pain" and as such can't tell when they've simply worked their muscles out well, or actually have something to worry about.

But like funkie says, post a vid of form, and if you feel uncomfortable do a reset and concentrate on your form.

It might just be that when I'm returning the barbell to floor that it's strecthing my muscles more than usual. I wouldn't say it's soreness as it doesn't feel like its the muscles complaining.

I'll try and get a camera for showing my form.

Sounds to me like you're rounding your back when you put the barbell down. You should watch out for that, of course especially when you're doing the actual (dead)lift!!!
If you've never done deadlifts before now, make absolutely sure that your form is where it should be before loading the bar with 95 kg

Okay, I must have missed something real important because I've been bending over and placing the bar on the floor when the deadlift was complete. Cheers for the help people.

Tell them to ship me a 187kg oly set k? :D

p.s. rugby: solid. ran into one of the best tacklers on our team so hard he got a minor concussion. some kid that used to play running back but quit the football team came out to practice..this should be interesting having a d1 caliber runningback playing club rugby ^_^ also, got my whole hand above rim!

Hey decaf, I've always wondered why football players are so heavily padded while rugby players get away with no padding at all. Are rugby players just a manlier breed?

Yes. We fuck shit up.

I did once. Went to the gym right after, maxed out my squat, and then dumped my gf, then beat our rivals at rugby. One of the best 48 hours of my life.

1. Vagina Pad for benching
2. Curling in the smith machine
3, CELL TECH

- things my friends do that I will never understand.

Found myself being a gym snob yesterday too, in between sets of power cleans, my buddy and I were standing by the squat racks, and there were two guys using them. The guy I was with has only been going to the gym with me for about three weeks now, but when I asked him about the guys next to us, he successfully pointed out every problem they were having with their squats to me. Proud fatherly feelings.

The guy I was with has only been going to the gym with me for about three weeks now, but when I asked him about the guys next to us, he successfully pointed out every problem they were having with their squats to me. Proud fatherly feelings.

Exactly.

Like a week ago, I was in the gym and talking random shit with friends there (I made friends in teh gym yay! social skills j000) and there was this guy doing Squats right after I did mine. He was about to break his back, I told one of the supposed "trainers" of the gym, to watch out for him because he was seriously going to injure himself if he continued to do it like that, he then proceeded to tell me that I needed to coach him. (my friends followed to say the same) I restrained myself from doing so, since I don't want to sound cocky . how do I help kids, but not sound cocky or douchy .

This girl I told that she should add more weight for more strength and stuff, has been adding weight steadily and is kind-of beating PR's every week. Me so proud. I'm on a state, where It doesn't show too much that I'm "in good shape" but when I take my clothes off, people notice. this is the best day evuurrh :D

One quick question, is it safe to do Cleans and Power Cleans the same day? is there any danger? halp halp halp!

Okay, I must have missed something real important because I've been bending over and placing the bar on the floor when the deadlift was complete. Cheers for the help people.

OMG i just cringed when reading this. PLZ DONT DO THAT T_T

yesterday my online poker account got shut down randomly after I I had just deposited some cash so I could start playing real money. >__< I wasnt going to work out that day but i was pretty fucking pissed so I had a rage-fueled workout. Squatted 3x5@180 ezpz! (new pr) My squat has been going up steadily the last few workouts since I started doing it properly lol

I usually workout in my basement (bought myself a squat rack and barbell set about a year ago, havent used it nearly enough though) but when I go to the gym ive actually never seen any1 curling in the squat rack. I have seen liberal use of the vagina pad though, lol. A few months ago I was doing squats w/ a friend, and this old guy who looked at least 60 came and asked to work in w/ use, so we were like sure ok. Loads up the bar, does a perfect set of 10. Next to him theres another guy in the smith machine w/ the vagina pad, doing quarter squats w/ 200lbs rofl.

I Also discovered (i think) why my performance has been declining in soccer ever since i started paleo. not enuf carbs b4 the game!! I was basically going super low carb w/ vast amounts of meat and a few veges and fruits thrown in randomly - which is great for muscle/fat ratio, but after my first couple shifts on the field Id just feel drained and lethargic. I realized a few days ago this started happening pretty much exactly the same time I stopped eating stuff like rice pasta and potatoes. I bought a big bag of yellow (delicious :D) potatoes, a yam and some raisins to test out my theory @ my next game on Sunday.

going snowboarding over the weekend for the first time in like 8 years with a bunch of friends. im pretty fucking excited :D

That's always a good feeling. I'm in like the opposite situation... I think I look pretty much awesome with clothes on, want to work on the clothes off

I feel there needs to be a totally homo/douche self-shot following this...

btw, leaving for a 3day skiing trip with my classmates and the nurses. will be fun, the monday session probably wont.

just make sure you leave the nazi zombies alone! (watched dead snow yesterday )

btw, this thread has turned me into a condescending bastard who looks down on the people who curl for hours WITH THE EZBAR (yes, there are guys like that in my gym) or do like 240kg leg presses and act like their the man

@funkie: squat your anger away! always works for me

No fucking shit. Hahaha

We all turned into snobs. But we are in a right position to look down on gheyz who do curls. Like, people always ask me why I don't do Leg Press. and I'm like "Cause it's ez cake. no point. no challenge" .

Yeah, I've turned into a huge gym snob too. "Shitty ROM and bad bar control" or "why the hell is that guy using the vagina pad on the bench press" are common thoughts that run through my head in the gym.

I kind of want to work out at home to improve concentration, but I live in a sardine can so even if I had the money for an olympic set I wouldn't have the space.

yeah tell me about it. i try to restrain myself sometimes from being such a prick, but hell you just can't help it sometimes when people bench a fuck ton of weight only to lower the bar 2 inches before pressing. or when someone tells his friend using low weights, high reps creates definition...

hold on a sec, i thought the vagina pad was only used when squatting.but for benching?! that's just beyond me O_O

1. Vagina Pad for benching
2. Curling in the smith machine
3, CELL TECH

i think you should go for it anyway, just b like do u mind if i give u some advice or w/e. Some guy @ the university gym here told me that my DL form was fucking terrible (it was) a long time ago when i just started lifting, it helped me a lot and I probably wouldve injured myself seriously if i had continued half assing it.
