I don't know. I still have feelings for my ex, but I haven't done it yet, since I know it's super douchy of me to do so. I don't wanna be the "guy who cheated". but yes, I do have strong strong feelings for my ex. I love her a lot still .

Yesterday, I was doing Squats and shit, and there's this girl who always does Squats everytime I do them, and we generally chit chat between sets and what not. Yesterday I told her, what was her main approach for doing them. She said she wanted her legs to be a bit bigger and to have strong ones. I told her to start adding up 5lbs to each workout, and get some strength pumping into those legs. I told her to lower the rep and increase the weight, so she'd gain mass and stuff.

By the time I was done with my squats, I left 1 plate for her to use, when I look again she had added 5lbs to each side. LIFE IS NOW COMPLETE. I might get her to try deadlifting and stuff and see how it works out for her, Her ass is nice, but It could be a whole lot better :D.

From a guy who has cheated in a relationship before, it feels a lot worse than you expected after you actually do it. If you want to try again with your ex you'd probably be better off just ditching your current relationship, but I have a feeling she became your ex for a reason.

This is why I cut contact with my ex girlfriends completely. Friends doesn't work. There are too many feelings involved ... I learned that lesson the hard way.

And yes, the solution to all of life's problems is lifting more intensely.

The difference is the height you catch the bar and subsequent squat motion. Power clean is when you don't go below parallel on the front squat and a clean involves going below parallel.

Moral of the story, you can cheat on your gf as long as you have a really good workout after. And then dump your gf. And the girl is really attractive. And you live happily ever after because your relationship was miserable. Not speaking from experience or anything...*cough*

SS recommends the Powerclean I see. I assume you get those same benefits from cleans&jerks + snatches though.
incidentally, how often do you guys (if at all) do olympic workouts?
my current workout schedule is:

Saturday: Bench, flies, squats

Monday: Weighted Chins, military press, cable row & lat pull

Wednesday: Deadlift, dips & abs

the club here meets mondays, wednesdays, and fridays, so I can potentially do oly lifts three times a week. I can see myself going at the very least once a week, but if I like the club (checking it out on friday) then I might go 2-3 times a week... in which case the question becomes, how do I not let my other lifts (esp deadlift and squats) suffer? and how do I work it into my schedule? I can bunch up a lot of the lifts on the same day to make more time for olympic stuff. Say I set it up something like this:

Monday: Oly day

Wednesday: Oly day

Friday: Deadlift, squats, dips, flies

Saturday: Benchpress, chinups, abs

what do you guys think of that kind of schedule?

did you miss the part in the thread where I said my bench, squat, and deadlift all increased even though I was doing almost exclusively clean&jerk and snatch?
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

yeah, I did... did you drop other lifts totally? how do you fit it in now?
what do you think of the split I posted?

edit: my question was more about how does the exhaustion from intense oly days affect the rest?

well now my workouts consist only of clean and jerk, snatch, power clean and jerk, power snatch, front squat, back squat. ill re test all my maxes after this program. the first time you oly lift you'll be sore in places you didn't know exist. a good oly session can leave you pretty sore but since there's a large emphasis on fast twitch muscles you recover faster than from say a heavy deadlift session. after a while you can oly lift everyday (like dimsum)
I squeeze in some bench and weighted chins when I can, but that's mostly for rugby (stiff arms and what not)

Girls that squat have great asses and legs. I don't question who what why or how, i just accept the fact that it happens (they also tend to have better bodies all around from the core work)

@sinep yeah your set up looks fine, just don't be surprised if you start oly lifting mon wed fri because its AWESOMEEEEE :D
speaking of which, can we fast forward 24 hours to my next workout?

tbh i just do the assistance exercises after my oly lifts, like press, pullups. So you can just bench and do dips after oly workouts.

There's a lot of counterintuitive things that go on with lifting/strength training (or rather, not counterintuitive but things most people never consider unless they also lift). Like the misconception that girls lifting = scary bodybuilding girl, or guys who want to get bigger/more ripped but never look at their diet or eat more/less/better. Keeping a nice ass is just easier with working the squats, and it would probably look better with the improved core that gets worked in strength training as well.

This week is a horrible week for eating- both mine and my mom's birthdays, and we're basically being treated everywhere and given way too much sugar and other things. Doing an ok job of managing, but it's obviously not optimal. It's ok though, because this friday I'm totally breaking 225lbs on squats ;P Nothing amazing as I have yet to miss or not get 3x5, but obviously every two 45lb plates is a milestone :D

Yeah I reset all my lifts at new year's eve. Had an accident and couldn't work out for like 2.5 weeks. But my upper body is just weak compared to my lower body :/ I think 72,5 or 75 kgs is my PR while 120 kgs squat is my best. Really weird O.o

how much does sleep affect your recovery? For example, i had a good workout yesterday and ate 5200 calories (according to fitday), but then i didnt go to bed until almost 2am :/ Did I just waste all that effort and food?
