Becnh: 72,5kg 5-5-5 Deadlift: 185x 5 (PR) Squatting was insanity. Bench press is still easy. Deadlift was satisfying, very clean set of 5. I'll leave it at that. Now I am too hungry and want to watch some MLG. I am gonna cook a very big potato casserole now, it will be awesome.

I second that. Or just throwing heavy things around lets off a lot of steam.

I'd love to go, but I doubt they don't ID? I'm actually living really close to PKU... Do you know anyone who can get me in? I can buy them some cigs or w/e the bribery currency is. My alternative plan is to go to Qinghua and pretend that I'm an exchange student who just arrived. This place HAS to have weightlifting right...?\ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing_National_Indoor_Stadium For a country that excels in oly lifts, it's surprisingly difficult to find a place that offers weightlifting...

I don't think they use the old venues for weightlifting, but they seemed open for some purpose at least. I was there in January around 8-9pm and there were guards posted at the parking lot so who knows. I was staying in Shanghai mainly and I had access to a gym because I borrowed someone's gym card. If you don't know anyone who lives there and don't speak chinese yourself, it's gonna be realllly hard. Gym I went to was pretty "high class" and had a great selection of machines and cardio treadmills, but their strength equipment was pretty non existant and the barbells (read: all two of them) were rusted and the weights were falling into pieces. Unless you really luck out, I wouldn't be expecting to workout at all imo.

I looked into the gyms near where I'll be staying, but none of them seemed that great, I might just drop by a few of them and get their free 1-day trial memberships. The National Indoor Stadium is open for public recreation, its site mentions a ton of courts for recreation sports (e.g. soccer, basketball, badminton) but no free weights. I'm fluent in Chinese and completely comfortable, so that's not a problem. I think my best bet is to check out the universities. Since my friends don't lift weight, they have no idea whether their universities even have the equipment. Well, I'm going to be away for five weeks, so I really hope I find something =/
