Does anyone else have a problem with eating enough for breakfast? Im really not hungry until around 12 am - 1 pm, what can I do to make myself eat more for breakfast? I think half or sometimes even more of the calories I eat every day come from my dinner or after dinner, is this a problem and should I try eat more for breakfast/lunch even if im not that hungry then?
Btw my mum bought 8 litres of milk today and complained about that we have suddenly started drinking a lot more (me ), and me and my brother proceeded to drink 5 of the eight litres today, I'll probably help her carry some the next time she goes shopping for groceries.
wow guys, like 4 pages of stuff overnight :O this thread is getting crowded.
anyway @ohnoes I used to be like that. many days I would never feel like eating when I woke up and I would just cram down food because I thought I *had* to have breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day right? Well, apparently not. Not for me at least. I do the leangains fasting and eat between 12pm and 8pm everyday, even working out fasted. It's such a great approach because it allows you to eat 100% of your calories post workout if you can workout around 10-11am. It doesn't matter if half of your calories are from dinner, but regardless of what you do you should put your largest meal after your workout. If I were you, I would test out skipping breakfast in favour of a larger lunch a few days and see how you feel.
Since im skinny i want to try to continue eating breakfast, more meals= more times to fill up my stomach = more weight gain?
Leangains is not really a system that would work for me since im at 8-10% bf, and honestly i dont really care about the BF as long as i get stronger, I can easily loose it again, gaining mass is hard for me. Right now I'll be loosing weight if dont focus on eating much.
I find that I can eat the same amount of food in the day regardless. If I don't eat breakfast, I can eat twice the amount for lunch etc and it ends up being the same amount of kcal in a day regardless. Leangains works for anybody, regardless of bodyfat % and your goals, it's just a matter of changing the setup. If you are focused on gaining weight, I'd eat as much as possible after your workouts and stuff yourself. I don't know if you do any other activities but cardio will limit your weight gain. As long as you are downing a lot of food after your workouts, weight gain should come pretty easy. Just make sure you pick calorie dense foods + good sources of protein. If you really can't eat enough and your weight isn't moving, drink a bunch of milk in addition. Gaining weight really shouldn't be a problem unless you do an excessive amount of cardio activities on the side
idk about today, ive felt awful all week, bits are hurting that shouldnt be (strained lat i think), got 4-5 hours sleep yet again, hay fever is wrecking me, just feel dismal and unrested even though its been 4 nights since last session and been eating decently. got to meet someone soon and gym closes super early so im gonna spend the evening on that mobilitywod and see what happens tomorrow :x

You are saying that if i do 7h of cardio every week i wont gain muscle as fast as only gym guys do? Even if i eat like a beast?
it definitively hurts your chances. muscle growth is all about recovery and excess energy reserves - moderate/high intensity cardio stresses your body and burns massive amounts of energy - energy that could be used for muscle building instead.
light cardio is alright though (walking, easy bike riding etc) and can be effective for keeping your bodyfat in check while bulking.
usually the guys who say they can't gain weight no matter what they do are the ones doing a lot of cardio
Hey guys , I'm looking for a routine to put on some serious mass and strength ( primarily focused on mass tho) Got sick of squatting heavy 2/3 of my workouts and walking around with miniature arms
Lifts
Squat : 320 x 5 Bench : 190 x 5 Deadlift : 290 x 5 ( Realised I've been pulling with bad form , that's why my numbers wasn't going up )
arms : 11 - 13 inch T_T
So I'm looking to put on overall mass on my upper body , my leg's size is already satisfying from squatting although I wouldn't mind it being bigger. :D
so I wasnt supposed to work out today but my buddy dragged my ass to the gym. decided to try out some oly lifts for the first time. snatched up to 40kg which went relatively ok but my form probably sucked donkey balls hehe
then did some jerks and clean and jerks. recorded my last try at 60kg

So what would you recommend?
Do a Bench/Squat/Dead routine with added curls for great success? I feel you man, I've got pretty good legs with "tiny" arms lol.
You could also just alternate heavy and light squatting if you really dislike squatting heavy all the time (which is just mentally draining to say the least).

Fuck curls!
Do Weighted chinups and dips ftw! Do them and bask in their glory
For a bigger biceps, it's chinups all the way for me. A big triceps is more important to make your arms look big though. Dips and some other press variations besides bench are probably best.

nice job, the clean looked good! Feet position in the jerk could be widened a bit, it looks like only your front foot is moving out.Try moving your back foot a little farther back. A video of the side would be great next time :D
