Love that this thread has been kept updated. I remember looking at it when it was first posted and it looked so bare compared to what it is now! GJ. I'll start posting about my workouts and runs soon. I have a knee injury currently so I'm not running
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.

yes they are.

played some badminton today, cold almost out of the system. some slime remaining but making good progress on the doubles ladder :D

The viking plays .... badminton? :D

Why of course! It is clearly one of the manlier sports there is as demonstrated here:

Did week 4 of C/P today. Wasn't expecting much since I had bailed a couple of times and then got sick. The set weight was 197,5 kg x 2.

Worked up to the planned weight and only managed 1 rep. Still an all time PR and more than I had hoped for

Ended the workout with some Good Mornings (3 sets of 80kg x 5), abs and curls.

FML, getting raped by military press. I knew it was a bad idea going squat -> p.clean -> m.press rather than squat -> m.press -> p.clean. Tricepts totally gave out on last rep and I failed

On a more fun note, I found a place right by the gym that sells raw milk O__o

Decided to max this week
325 deadlift, 260 squat, and 185 bench (so close to that goal of benching my BW)
Some older guy came up to me on my max deadlift day and said he was real impressed and all that jazz. I don't know if he knew much about lifting, but still feelsgoodman.

Anyways, I started a lifting journal over at wannabebig.com (Here is my journal). Yall should sign up, good site and some great people. Most of the (awesome) information is found in peoples journals such as chevelle2291.

Also, after going from 165 to 200 down to 186 as of today, starting to be happy with my BF levels. I'll be talking about this more in my journal; all the more reason to follow along! :D

Hi there. I had a pretty intense self realization over the last few weeks, and it's led me to make some pretty significant changes in my life. I'm probably not going to be updating myself in this thread every week, but I do want to put down what I started at.

There is so much information at the front of this thread that I'm going to go back and read it all, but I wanted to get this down first.

Razvy

Age: 27 || Height: 6'2" || Weight: 315lbs

Starting Date: 03/22/11 || Goal Date: 09/22/11

Weight goals -- I want to be much skinnier in 6 months. I've always been a 'big guy', but I didn't start getting 'fat' until ~5 years ago. I've honestly never attempted to go on a diet before. I've never been to a gym. I simply don't know where to start, so I choose to start with Cardio, and lots of it.

Training goals -- I've started out walking 2 miles a day every day this week. I plan on doing that every day for a month. Then I plan on jogging that 2 miles every day for a month. Adding more distance when I feel comfortable, eventually to at least 3.2 miles. Then I plan to add riding my bike to work every day it's nice enough to do that out (10 mile round trip).

Nutrition goals -- I don't have specific nutrition goals yet... I currently work overnights at a gas station, and before this week I'd drink ~100 oz of soda a night easily. I've more or less quit that cold turkey, replacing it with coffee and water, and getting by fine. I still think I need caffiene somehow, and coffee is the 'most healthy' thing I can get for free. Aside from that, no more fast food, much less snacking, and smaller portions around the board.

Misc goals -- 5k fun run in the middle of September I plan winning. Ok, not winning, but I plan on doing my best in it.

Quit Smoking. I smoked ~3-4 packs a week, but I've been clean for 7 days now, and have very little desire to start again. I don't foresee this to be a problem.

Good luck Razvy. You might want to add weightlifting to your schedule as it will give you more diversity in your daily activities.

Do you have green tea available as well? That's an even better alternative than coffee. Either way, good move by quitting the sodas. That alone will cut a LOT of calories from your diet.

Roija: no offense but that dude's a dumbass. He calls the front squat a silly exercise, believes only in calories in/calories out, and promotes squatting in the smith machine.

For your typical cardiobunny his information is fine, but there are far more knowledgeable people right here in this thread.

GL Razvy! You've def got a freind in Energies who i think was in a somewhat similar situation before.

edit: I lifted at noon today then I totally passed out 1.5 hrs after eating -__-.

Also, got bitched at for lifting in socks
I know it's been discussed to death here before, but can someone link me to some cheap cheap basic shoes for lifting? (lifting only)
