What is it
Took a lot of effort to develop and support (daily, even hourly) http://SC2Casts.com - and now - here is the SC2Casts app for the iPhone, iPad and Android!
I know the screen ain't ideal for watching VODs, but I still find myself watching them on it from time to time. It so happens that I NEED TO SEE THAT GAME, and I ain't on a PC right now ...
Anyway, I hope you'll appreciate the app. (and hopefully you're liking sc2casts.com too).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to get it
iPhone App - or just search for SC2Casts or Starcraft from your device
iPad App - or just search for SC2Casts or Starcraft from your device
Android app - search for sc2casts in the Android Market or scan the following QR code:

Let me know what you guys think !
Also, it'd be great if you guys rate/review the app on the iTunes and Android Market if you like it.
A lot of people say in this thread they love the app, but reviewing it on the stores is what helps .... a ton! Thanks

Wow that looks amazing :D
Sadly my iphone went swimming recently so I can't give it a look, but when i get my new one soon i'll definately download it.

HOLY SHIT.
MOVE THIS TO ANDROID AND I'll HEART YOU.
Caps was necessary.
Hopefully I'll get in contact with a good Android developer soon so we can put the app out for it ASAP.

This app, and your site, are really promising. Right now it's difficult to follow all of the various SC2 games being played and casted. An aggregation service is mad useful. Awesome work.
What I'd kill for is inclusion of non-YouTube VODs. I know most of them won't be watchable on the iPhone, but your RSS feed would be perfect if it also had links to ESL/MLG/GSL VODs. These are the biggest SC2 events, and their games never make it to YT. As it is, your site/feed doesn't knock the socks off YouTube's subscription service.
Also, 99 cents? Fuck that man, you can charge twice that for this app! Just the ability to avoid spoilers is worth 2 bucks. And you've got no competition really. Ah I see now, app is regularly $4. Well done.
Bought the app.
This is actually really cool.
$.99 is really reasonable, though even for like $4 I would still buy it (anything under $5 is generally worth it to me).
To all: GET THE APP TODAY... 99 cents is nothing lol
Oh and this would definitely be a great app for the iPad... probably would be the only reason I would ever buy one haha
Just bought it, really cool stuff OP!
However, Is there any way you can add a download option? I can see how this would be a drain on my data when I'm not connected to a WiFi network.
Would love to see this developed for Android. Thumbs up on the great work.

Data shouldn't be a problem. I am assuming you're on AT&T (USA). If that's the case data plans should be unlimited at $30, last I checked.

I don't know how big these videos are but I ran out of data pretty fast last month when I watched VODs on YouTube

Insta-purchase at 59 English Sterling pence. Thank you!
It'd be great and help a lot if you leave a good rating/review for the app on the itunes appstore if you liked it guys!
Bought, nicely done.
Hope you make a ton of cash :-)
I also picked it up as well. Good app so far, lets hope you can get more VOD's that aren't on youtube.
Does this work on iPad? (i.e. is it full resolution, or small)
Omg, make this for android please. Would totally buy it
Just bought it, no complaints so far
Bought it! Looks very nice indeed! Good job OP
Just picked this up. Awesome app Now my addiction can go wherever I go!
Everyone knows that the real nerds use android. Get this app asap on the android :p
Great app, just purchased it. For future releases, would love to see a "mark as favorite" feature to tag videos, and also, don't know how you could do this, but a download function to be able to watch VOD's offline (especially handy on non wi-fi equipped airplanes.) Thanks for putting it together.
Great work, now get this onto android?
Cool, I think vods are pretty clearly watchable on the iPhone4's display, I bought the app.
Also a quality selector would be nice, kind of like the HQ button on the mobile version of YouTube (m.youtube.com). But I really love all the information I get and how easy it is to watch a bo3
edit:
The app crashes when I go to the browse option
Could you please update this app with the fast-app switching support so I can actually resume watching etc?
Thanks so much for this.. I'll be getting this later today!
will buy it once it becomes 4$, because im that awesome.
+ Show Spoiler +or because i don't have any credit on my ipod atm, and too lazy to get a new card >.>
Wow nice job :o Can u make this for a nokia n97 mini ?
Purchased it. It's fast & lightweight. I think this is the best thing I've downloaded in a long time (aside from google voice )
Bought it here as well -- now if you could make it a universal app for my iPad as well, I'd be thrilled!
ok... im tired of reading posts of these noob iphone&android user... cant you make this app for the REAL MEN, the cool pple, using blackberry and not for those shitty toyhandys? ty
:O
I have an ipod touch, so almost 100% of the time when I have wireless I can just be using a desktop. But cool app!
Purchased. I'm looking for great coverage and constant updates. Thanks for your effort on putting this together!

What device and os do you have? And did it only crash once or does it keep doing it?
App bought. Great app.
Absolutely awesome! Buying as soon as I find my Itouch! ha.
huge shoutout to sc2casts.com. Great site run by a great guy! thx
Android port and you have another huge market!
Damn. I just bought it, and it is great. Much better than using the built-in Youtube app, or the youtube web app, and I watch quite a bit of SC on my phone. One small request, maybe a feature so I can follow and un-follow casters? Some casters I want to see everything, and some I don't care for. I have no complaints though, great job!
Maybe this is what that guy is watching in the GSL intro before the Battlecruiser invades Korea...
>.< Why only for Apple! The android market is so much bigger >.< or is there one in the works?? :DDD
Release for iPad too?! :D
I'd pay $4 straight up for this app on Android. It looks amazing.

Will let you guys know when I have more details on when/if an Android version will be available.
I'm discussing it with an Android developer, hopefully we'll come up with something soon.
Sweet, I just got a 15$ itunes card, wonder where I'll spend the first dollar!
Any chance of you coding this for Windows Mobile 6.5?
great, waitin for the android app :p
Nice one.
Got few questions though:
How are the Casts beeing played? My guess would be YouTube? Meaning only YouTube casts are available? (If so, the quality depends on your connection. WiFi will be HD, 3G will be low res. Using the HTML5 Interface of YouTube actually gives you the ability to have HD Video on a 3G Connection as well)
Cheers,
Gordon

WOW great stuff. Beautiful I love it!

bought it. love it. great work and I hope you make tons of money.
just bought it great job i love it thanks dude
Bought it and it looks great! Can't wait to make use of it...
Just my two cents.... what I really want on the iphone is an app that will download VOD's so I can watch them on the train (impossible to get good 3g on my boston commuter rail ride home). At work and at home I'll watch these videos on Youtube... but on the train my ONLY option right now is the Starcraft 2 Amateur Hour podcast (if anyone has any other good places let me know).
If I had an iPhone 4, then good god I would be going insane with happiness right now, the crispness of it, ahhhhh
But alas I do not, I have a measly 3G and it's fairly painful at the low resolution Still, great work on the app!
Bought it within a minute of seeing this thread. Awesome app!
someone mentioned being able to pre-download. I'd second that request. A whole lot of people have really bad dl caps - myself, I get 500mb and then I pay about $2 per 10 mb so video hurts
Thanks for the app!
Bought it on the iPad! Great app! Though it would be better if you make it into a universal app
Bought good job!
Too bad I cant put HQ on on the youtube videos so I don't know if I am going to use it if this doesnt get fixed.
After I applied for html5-beta on youtube I could watch videos on HQ mode on youtube. Sadly this isn't possiblt with this app. I have an iPhone 4 by the way.
Someone profiting off other peoples work? I think the casters should sue you, and get their share.
Depends how you look at the scenario i guess. I wouldn't dare selling a service to a free market.
On September 30 2010 05:12 Qzy wrote:Someone profiting off other peoples work? I think the casters should sue you, and get their share.
wow i didn't know that ALL the SC2 casters met up and created this iPhone app themselves, and then this guy broke in and stole it and started selling it himself.
Nice, I bought this immediately PLEASE keep this updated, please please please...
Some things of note:
- I don't know the stipulations of Apple's App Store service, but somehow incorporate downloading the vods onto your phone so you can watch when you have no/bad connection? I jailbroke my phone and use MXTube (does what I just said) and find that this is my most treasured app because of this
- Maybe a results page and calendar/timeline of upcoming tournaments and showmatches? Right now, everything is just kind of floating around the net without any authoritative source and information gets lost in translation sometimes.
- (to anybody who knows) What would it take to get GSL to allow for you to host their stuff? And any other major tournament that is economically tight with their VODs
sweet! it works pretty well on the ipad too...
Too bad i haven't invested in an iPod Touch yet...still using a nano
Just bought it. Kept me entertained during class today
Thanks!

They should also all sue YouTube, they are profiting from their work, oh wait...
OT : Awesome app, my iphone just had a little meetup with the floor so its currently innoperable but as soon as I go buy my new one im buying this.
Just bought it, so once i get an iPod Touch i'll be set
This is awesome, not only does it consolidate the list of available casts into an easy-to-read menu, but it's also helping broaden my horizons by introducing me to other lesser-known casters that I haven't seen before. All in all a great application!
so much awesome, very well made
To all the people asking for an android app:
One already exists that keeps track of casts from the following casters:
Day9tv HuskyStarcraft Psystarcraft HDStarcraft DiggitySC StarCraftLegacy AskJoshy
look for 'StarStats' on the market, or just scan this QR code. + Show Spoiler +
(note: I am not the creator, I just use the app)

Bought it today, it's awesome. Sadly, my school blocks Youtube, so I can't watch any videos at school. *tear* Could that be fixed? If not, whatever.

Have you done any modifications to it since you jailbroke it? Anything that could affect you browser and/or video player?
Also, please upload that screenshot here: http://imageshack.us/

would def buy this if i had an iphone :O

Beautiful.
An instant overview of available matches, date, matchup, commentator all shown in a clear and non-confusing way, and you don't have to mess with the spoilers and the headache-inducing functionality of the youtube app. Bravo!
Bought.

Why not? What device/os are you using? Is it jailbroken?
Sweet, bought. Now I just want a Day9 section.
Of course it is (jailed). it's a 3gs. It's the youtube player but with a cross over the play icon, same as for jamoink. It's also the same on the web page uh.. I think it's got to do with youtube switching formats and stuff to html5? hmm.
edit: confirmed videos play in the youtube player but not on the site or in the app :{
I think it has to do with your devices being jailbroken. 100% of the users complaining about this have jailbroken devices Can you PM me your IP address so I can check something on the server side?
just bought it..... this is just what i need it! :D
thx!!!!
i'm a happy man now :D
EDIT: oh man! browse by caster! thats AWSOME!!!
amazing work! and the videos are on a higher resolution compared to youtube? is that possible? it looks so good.. maybe it's because i'm on my wi-fi network atm...
cheers!
I registered to post a possible solution for those jailbroken devices: do they have the cydia app iMobilecibema (safari plugin to watch flash videos on safari) or anything similar installed? If so, disable it (in my case with sbsettings) when using this app. Solved any "this video can not play" issue for me on my jailbroken 3.1.2
I don't have anything like that, but this is not an issue with the app per se, it's with all embedded tubevideos, and it's something quite new so maybe someplace else on the net they got it figured out and google haven't indexed it
edit: youtube.com mobile site works :Y
So, embeded youtubes on, for example, sc2casts.com won't work as well?
Sounds like something youtube should fix, and hopefully soon ...
Hello i bought it and i cannot load anything it does not recognize m'y connexion ... I m on iPhone 3GS with os 4 0 1 sounds very funny anyway
yeah, sc2casts.com won't work either and it did a few days ago so yep.
Awesome, would like the option to email a cast to myself for viewing later though.
Awesome, bought it immediately and will recommend it to people.
EDIT: Sucks hard that it uses the apple youtube app though, since that means I get insanely bad resolution unless I'm on a wifi network.
awesome. bought. cant wait for a full-screen iPad version
Purchased. Exactly what I needed, ta.

What do you mean it does not recognize your connection? It says there's no Internet?
Are you trying it with Wifi/3G/Edge or GPRS? And have you tried different access methods? Device Jailbroken or not?
Does your browser open webpages when sc2casts tells you theres no internet? :D
Yes i can open webpages lol i am stupid but not that much i am on 3G when i try to access some casts and it says i have not internet but i m actually answering you with my phone i m gonna test with wifi this evening but sound strange ... I m gonna upgrade i phone OS as well ... Nobody has thé same issue ?
For the guys who have the issue with a non working youtube player, try this:
goto: http://www.youtube.com/html5
from Safari on your device, and see if you're in the html 5 beta.
If you are - leave it, and try SC2Casts app again
Personally I find the need to watch Starcraft on a tiny screen just as bad as playing music through the speakers of a mobile phone. It just doesnt work well enough and why people are happy to pay for a bad quality service and cant wait until they have the opportunity to watch it on a "real screen" is beyond me.
You cant fill your life with "more more more" SC2 because you only have 24 hours each day. Just fill them with the highest quality of whatever you can do at the moment and dont take lower quality with the "you can have more of X" argument.

Well to what you are saying here. If you are like some and have the connections to watch videos on your TV from your ipod(simple apple A/V cable) when you watch these casts there are on a large screen and scale well from youtube. You lose like no resolution really especially if the person recorded it for HD they still pretty good and sit back and relax and just play away. I think this App is really really good and put together. If there is one thing that would be great to add is the ability to play in succession like say if its best of 3 there is a off Youtube app for iphone called Youtube Navigator (which is better than the Native App) that allows you to kind of queue and play continuously.
Other than that if you are really looking for strategies and styles of play to emulate you can search by just player and watch there styles. That feature right there is absolutely priceless and saves so much time. The big names are easy to find by searching but grabbing say Adelscott a bit lesser known player but innovative to see some of his builds is really great.
This gets 5*
*Edit* Also maybe add dates if possible or unless its already sorted by date. I think the most used search or browse will be by player. Are the videos say for HuK listed in order from most recently posted to older?

WOW thanks man! Awesome app!
Nice app, only problem is I sometimes get the message that the video format for some replays is not supported, but I guess that's likely because my iPod touch is a first gen model.
Still, for 59 pence its pretty sweet
but your RSS feed would be perfect if it also had links to ESL/MLG/GSL VODs. These are the biggest SC2 events, and their games never make it to YT. All the GSL Vods are on youtube in better quality than on the GOMTV Website. They get taken down but they go right back up.
Can't wait to see the Android port. (Although not really necessary since we have Flash).
Gonna buy this one right away, Big thanks!
I like it, very slick. Well worth the .99. Can't wait for the iPad version!!
Great app, one I might actually use daily.
I second the tourney vids being available I was really hoping that GSL stuff would be available since the GOMTV app really sucks balls.

You can have flash (frash) on iPhone or watch the youtube movies on the mobile version of the site or the youtube application. The point of this app is to give a nice and clean UI, which is probably good on Android aswell.
I downloaded this and its fantastic! Such a great app and site in general. The developer is also very responsive on his forums to requests or ideas.
5 stars, would have paid $5 for it but since I benefited from the special I'll be telling all my friends about it.

getting my 4 tommorow and this will be the first app i will get ^^
Not sure what to say about this, nice way to consolidate the sc2 casts on youtube but the selling of it leaves a lot of questions for me. Mainly where does the money go? Selling the convenience of collecting the videos into one place is kind of hmm... Because most of the people you listed are partner accounts on youtube and probably want people visiting their channel not a giant list of videos.
Secondly theres the whole issue of profiting on content that was not created by you... I like the idea but don't like the idea that you're selling it instead of making it a free app.
I can't wait to use this app with my3g once i can jailbreak again. silly at&t and apple and their video quality limitations over 3g - my3g is a jailbreak app that gives you hq youtube videos over 3g instead of just wifi
also something along the lines of yourtube which lets you download movies from youtube woudl be neat too.
Can we please get an Android version? In case you didn't know there are more Android devices sold per day than iOS. More potential customers (especially nerds).

I'm assuming they had to pay to have the app developed (or at least spend a lot of time on it, and if they have the talent to create that app their time is valuable). It takes a lot of work to develop a solid app.

Well, money goes into bandwidth for sc2casts.com and developing and supporting the app. (and the site)
And the casters get more exposure through the app, and much more through the site. So it ain't really hurting anyone ... On the contrary. Currently most people know only Husky and HD, and they're getting all the traffic on their youtube channels.
I think the more people's eyes are open to other casters, the more the casters should appreciate it.

If there was an iPad version I'd buy it, but pixel scaling sucks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all (majority?) of the content is on third party sites. Meaning your bandwidth costs are mainly text. Even factoring in web scraping, your bandwidth costs shouldn't be an issue unless you were managing to get maybe 150k-250k+ unique visistors daily.
Everything else is certainly valid, just pointing out bandwidth shouldn't be a factor in any sane case.

It's not a lot of money at all. Probably he is even in the red. Personally, if you want to pick on someone that does society a big favour do something yourself that is better, really.
I use the site regularly on my phone, it's not useless at all, and I can see clearly the unitsand what they are doing, sure it might not be beautiful per se but I really just want to see pro tactics in a tent in a festival or at the toilet or just simply listen to a cast while walking. It's not useless for everyone just because you specifically don't want to watch sc2 when taking a shit. Some do.
On another note I fixed the problem so now I can watch in the app too. (Youtube player needs to be not hidden) I just had an idea too, may I suggest making push notifications for when a specific caster or player or race is uploaded, or maybe even every time anything is uploaded? Would be awesome! cheers

I didn't say the bandwidth costs a fortune, but I have to pay for it, and it's increasing rapidly (by the day) ...

i bought it at as well!!!! I saw the discounted price and I figured I'd support a cause worth supporting.
Something to note. When you view youtube over safari its the same quality as wifi. However when you use the youtube app with your iphone its the crappy lower resolution version. A way to bipass it without jailbreaking...
Sadly I recently graduated from college.. I wish you brought this out when I had classes and what not! wouldve got better grades... sike....
However I noted after just testing it. That if I disable my wifi and follow the links you guys have, it uses the standard quality. Theres a way to program it so that it uses the normal quality (as 3g can support it). This function is supported in the facebook iphone app, which allows me to view youtube links at normal quality despite being on 3g. If you can make this happen for the app and also perhaps add options for those who have limited data plans
Future updates: comments!!! ones that are different from the youtube portals. That way we know its between us nerds who were willing to pay a dollar to have a hub to view all these. To be honest... I already had subscribed to most of the casters that you had lol so its just having it more organized.

Good stuff. It'd be excellent if I can select a bunch of videos and the app downloads them while I'm on wifi, so I can watch them locally when I'm on the go.

To be fair, I dont think this app should charge... If you want to pay to watch particular channel, just download the navigate youtube app for like 2.99, then u can follow any channel instead of the listed SC2 channels. I dont think its necessary to build a "SC2 only" channel youtube app.

Why not? You know that there is loads of shit going up on casters youtube channels (Not just HD and Husky's) apart from real casts.
It's really good - I was happy to pay for this app

You can do that in the native youtube app as well. Doesn't change the fact that SC2Casts adds much more value. For example, have you seen sc2casts.com? You think it's useful? You think it's the same thing as following multiple youtube channels?

There are higher resolutions already implemented. It depends on your connection.
I'll be investigating the possibility to force a better resolution on slower connection (like 3g)

Can you include some sort of feedback box/link inside a 'game' - on the screen where you launch the youtube player? There are some mistakes as far as tournaments and players go, so maybe a "report" kind of link wouldn't be bad

Ok so I purchased the APP as soon as I read this post. The issue I am having is that it loads the video for about the first minute or two but then it stalls. I have tried it on different types of connections and still the same issues. I have tried watching the casts on youtube through the youtube app and it works perfectly fine. I have tried it being in the HTML5 beta and out of it. I have rebooted my iPhone and still nothing. I have a 32GB iPhone 4 running OS 4.1.
Any help?
Thanks!
Have you tried the exact same video through the youtube app as from the sc2casts app?
There is no reason for one of them to perform differently as they're both using the exact same video playing engine, internet connection etc.
OK so:
1) can you reproduce the problem every time on one video or on all of them? 2) you have tried the exact same video/videos with the same connection under the youtube app, and it performed differently?
it doesn't matter which video I play on the sc2casts app, it does the same thing and I'm at a place with a really good connection like 10MB/s on wireless
I'll try the same exact video.
OK so i tried the huk v artosis from Husky and it is way better through the youtube app but through the sc2casts app it doesn't really work it just stalls after 2 minutes.
EDIT: OK so now through the sc2 app it works fine let me try other videos because it has been really slow recently.
This App is OP... Best $2.99 I've spent.

That's just the thing, I don't remember. Like for example, a game is tagged as being from a certain tournament and it's a ladder game and from a different tournament altogether. That's why a "report" thingie could help you out.

Best app I ever bought, OP you just made my day (and any subsequent day if I'm stuck without a computer).
I think It would be good to mention in the description that the App links to youtube to play the videos. The youtube app in the Iphone plays at terrible quality on 3g because there is no Such thing as 3g quality it degrades it down to Edge Quality. I never use the youtube player on my Iphone because of this. But, there is an app call Truveo that plays links to youtube videos although is uses its own player. and plays them on wifi quality through 3g.

Nice work! Question: "Is it possible filter out certain casters? I'd be happy to for example be able to automatically remove casts by HDstarcraft.."
And is there a list of which casters are in your application? Is Psy in it for example? How about the Day[9] daily's?
Looking forward to your reply. Cheers.
"Is it possible filter out certain casters? I'd be happy to for example be able to automatically remove casts by HDstarcraft.."
Not for now, but I'm planning to add it in a future version.
And is there a list of which casters are in your application?
Well, there is a "Browse" section where you can browse by caster (and check out all the casters available). But if you want to check which casters are covered before you buy the app - you can check that on http://sc2casts.com.
(keep in mind that only casts which are uploaded to youtube are in the app. So if there is a caster who uploads stuff to other source, his casts will probably not appear in the app)
I'm so glad I found this, hahaha.. I've been trying to watch (listen, really) to casts while I go for runs at the gym and working with YouTube is a pain in the ass sometimes. This is amazing, thank you!
Thanks Chukpeev, that answers my question, I'll consider buying it.
Great app, and a small price to pay to support the SC community.
http://www.sc2replay.fr/ also has an iPhone app if you can't get enough of this one. It also aggregates videos, many (most?) of which are not in french even if the in-app descriptions are. Finally a use for my Canadian forced-french-language education! It does not have as convenient an interface though.
Chuck. A way to bypass the hd stuff. Can you in a future update add links to the cast to the safari m.YouTube.com link with the attached that way those not on wifi can watch 3G able quality videos? That would work just as well
On October 12 2010 19:20 adeezy wrote: Chuck. A way to bypass the hd stuff. Can you in a future update add links to the cast to the safari m.YouTube.com link with the attached that way those not on wifi can watch 3G able quality videos? That would work just as well
Yea, I'm working on something along those lines.
The thing is, I want it to be consistent AND functional. That is to say, I don't want to just open a Safari window with the m.youtube url, cause this will close the app, and it ain't great for user experience. Also - opening the whole youtube page inside the app ain't ideal too.
I'm trying some stuff. Once I get it to where I want it to be (if it's possible :D) I'll post an update.
Yeah I mean its not ideal for the APP, but its a must for those who want high quality when on 3g. The ramifications though unfortunate for the app will be worth it for a variety of reasons.
Looks promising (even after reading all the caveats to 3G quality), but bumping the price from $.99 to $3.00 is a bit of a steep progression considering you're still testing basic features.
Even with that said, keep up the great work.
Does this work well with the old 3G model? I'm totally interested but probably a week or two away from upgrading to the iPhone4...
Just bought it great little application but for some reason multi-tasking wont work, like if i am watching a cast then want to goto iirc or im+ and attempt to go back the video is closed and i have to re-stream it.
This app is abolutely brilliant comes highly recommended - the replays listed are of a really high standard and the quality is good.
I recommended this to my brother who has bought it and mentioned a couple of things that would really add to this app apologies if already mentioned I haven't read through all of the comments.
1. A marker to show which replays you have viewed. 2. Ideally not close down when you are called - it does pause when you receive a tex.
And thats it really these changes would really improve the overall experience of the app though.
Would def recommend. I havn't found *that* many practical uses.. but if you are working.. cooking... going to the bathroom.. anything like that I am sure you can find a time to watch sc2 games.

Even with that said, keep up the great work.
I'm not testing basic features, the app is fully functional. What I'm testing are experimental features, which are not supported by the OS or device normally ...

Yea, multitasking has already been implemented, but the update is still waiting for Apple's approval
Note however, that if you switch to another app while watching a VOD, when you come back to sc2casts, it'll be on the same screen it was before you launched the VOD (for some reason it automatically closes the video playback and it can only resume if you're using the youtube app )
I have it on my iPhone 4, and I love it! The screen resolution on the iPhone 4 is so good, I love the quality of the VODs!
Any news on eventual Android compatibility?
Haven't read all the comments, so this might've been answered before. In that case, I apologize.

Will there be a ipad version being released? Else ill get this one but just wondering when i should spend mah rl-minerals. Kindaundersaturated

This needs to come out for DROID!

Just bought it today. Quick comments:
- Can you add an SC2Casts rating system, or pull the rating from Youtube (I would greatly prefer the former but anything will help)? Reason: I don't want to watch bad games. - Can you pull the video length (toggle-able of course to avoid spoilers for some people)? Reason: I don't want to watch short games. - Can you allow filtering by commentator / matchup (maybe you already have this, I haven't looked)? Reason: I don't want to watch some specific commentators. - Can you track if we've watched a series? Reason: Sometimes I can't remember!

Waiting for Apple to approve the first app update (it's been most than a week now ), and then I'll be pushing an update where most of the stuff you requested will be implemented
That's great news chukpeev, did you manage to implement the report error thing I mentioned earlier in the thread?
Can a new update please include a different icon? Maybe one of Raynor or Zeratul or whatever? I dont like an icon which has the same text as the name/text of the app.

Maybe in a future update

Cool app, Would like the ability to search tags, maps, matchups as well, and the ability to rate games. Love the fact that you can browse by player, caster, and event though!

iTunes just notified me about version 1.3, nice to see

Cool, and could you somehow pull the upload date from youtube to the app?
Like if I sort for a specific caster, and want to watch recent (1.1.2) vods, there's no way if a VOD is a week or 3 months old.

The new version is live, and most of you should have received the update already.
The changes are:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- + added favorites section/functionality + added support for fast app switching + added high ressolution icon for "Browse" section # Some bugs that may've caused crashes were fixed
- Please note: High resolution YouTube through 3G (except on m.youtube.com) is still impossible to implement. YouTube is working on it and whenever they make it possible it will be added as a feature in SC2Casts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm reading through all the comments and suggestions and will try to implement with continuous updates most of the stuff that you guys want.

iPad question!
Does anyone have any problems forcing the iPad into landscape video mode when using the app with the iPad in pixel-doubling mode?
I can use the app on my iPad but I cannot get the app to use the entire iPad screen. I have a landscape video in portrait orientation that wont change no matter how I hold the iPad. Accelerometer control is ON.
Any chance this can be a universal app with Ipad support? Or even an ipad version?
As is I just use my youtube subscription feeds for the vids - but I'd love to get this app if it would be supported on ipad

Yea, someone reported this. I cannot reproduce it, but I have a 4.2beta version of the iOS on my ipad, so I guess they changed something and it fixed this bug. Hopefully, when the official 4.2 update for the iPad comes in the near future, noone will experience this bug.
Anyway, I'll try to figure it out and issue an update.
At the same time though, I'm working on an iPad version of the app which I'll try to release in the next week or two (and about an additional week for Apple to approve it)

great job. Use this in between classes. Haven't used enough to add suggestions yet.
Anybody else having problems loading the videos sometimes? Even when I have full wifi bars, the casts wont load sometimes.

Excellent use of the new forum section. App looks slick, congrats.

Could this happen to work with an iPod Touch? I'm from Peru so I don't share the same "service" with iPhones over there! (and don't have one, hehe)

The app will work fine on ipod touch, but only when you're connected to the internet, ofc.
Great to see this on the sponsored threads now, such a worthwhile product!

Here's another post about someone who wants this to come to android!

Bought it when it came out. Using it daily. Great App, love the "Browse" function.

Bought. Very good value at $4. Thought I would need to be Wifi speed to watch streams, but works very well over 3G connection.

Pretty neat.. I'll definitely download this on my iTouch.

Bought it.
Is there a possibility to force it to play in high def instead of youtube ultra compressed version when using 3g net?

That's an awesome app!!!
One thing, I'm iPad user, do you have any plans to make an iPad version (with native iPad resolution etc)?

i paid money for this app hoping that it would be quality...
instead of quality.. all i found was a way of organizing a list of youtube videos for players with poor video quality (iphone 4 has great video quality on most HD streams) ...
while the money isn't a big deal (hell.. I have enough quarters on my desk to buy this app 10 times) you can easily save a couple bucks by memorizing who your favourite starcraft caster is (lets say HDStarcraft for example) and go to his youtube page (on an iphone, yes you can do that on an iphone) and just click on his videos to get the exact same thing
i basically paid money for nothing with this app.... shittiest quality vids ever.. you'll be lucky if you can tell the difference between your probes and the mineral patch its sitting beside...

You sir, are a fool. It uses the same database that sc2casts.com has, and almost all videos are available in HD, it depends on your connection.
On Wi-Fi, you'll get HD, on 3G, you'll get something lower. That's Apple's decision, not mine. Get your facts straight before hating on a good and cheap effort.
This is awesome, please make an iPad version and an Android version.
Can i get this jailbroken
I bought your app for my IPAD/iphone.
it is a sure buy for your iphone but dont even thing using it with your ipad. this app is 100% not ipad friendly.
rating ; 8/10
suggestion : I would love to see categories like "MMM rush", "zergling rush", 1,1,1 T opening" and not only player vs player title. It is hard for noob like me to find what is relevant.

don't call me a fool just for reviewing an application with an honest opinion.. you can go fuck yourself since the only time anybody will have a wi-fi connection and wants to watch an SC2 video is pretty much at home.. unless you go to starbucks coffee shops by yourself and sit in the cafe to watch starcraft videos, you're going to be using a 3G connection... fair enough, apple made it that way, doesn't excuse the fact that its a compilation of YOUTUBE videos... at least create something like VEVO.. VEVO is actually free and its high quality videos are over 3G, thats the point I was trying to get across
EDIT: and honestly, if you aren't willing to take criticism for something you developed, i don't know what to say... good luck in customer service... i'm not buying anything made by you again for that kind of attitude toward a paying customer...
all i did was simply point out what i did not like about your application, maybe instead of calling me a fool you could redevelop it so its better for everybody in general, including me

My new favourite app, found this while looking for a way to watch the GSL games on the go - this is the next best thing at least and well worth the money
Awesome quality while connected to wi-fi and meh while not, but I know thats not your fault - even when not on wi-fi its still watchable and to be honest just having this awesome spoiler free list that is updated so often is worth the price of the app - keep up the good work with this, really hope it sells well for you so you can keep the app updated for a long time to come :D
If youtube ever get round to allowing high quality while not on wi-fi this app will just get even better than it is now!
Enjoy my money man, best thing I've bought since i bought the iphone4

can you make it use the mobile youtube webpage instead of using the youtube app? that way you can get high quality videos that load faster for both wifi and 3g.

VEVO is actually free and its high quality videos are over 3G, thats the point I was trying to get across EDIT: and honestly, if you aren't willing to take criticism for something you developed, i don't know what to say... good luck in customer service... i'm not buying anything made by you again for that kind of attitude toward a paying customer... all i did was simply point out what i did not like about your application, maybe instead of calling me a fool you could redevelop it so its better for everybody in general, including me You know the difference between acting like an ass and giving constructive criticism? I do and what you're doing is acting like an ass. To the OP: As has been asked many times before, are there any plans on making this for android? As has been answered a few times before - yes. I'm trying to find a developer who can do it. A few people have stepped up, but noone could deliver. But there'll be a version for Android for sure. And soon I hope. Oh, sorry. Didn't read through all the pages of the thread. Might be a good idea to add this information to the OP.
As a paying customer, I really don't give a shit whether I'm being an ass or not. I paid money and was disappointed by a product. I have a right to be upset. Would be a really great app, but unfortunatly the quality is very poor
If you could do something about making the quality better?
Yeah it really is unfortunate, the quality is terrible. I wouldn`t really recommend buying this app. OP, maybe you should host the videos on a server that you own so we can watch them in full quality.

Very nice application. It is unfortunate that it has to run through youtube.

Very nice, thanks! Purchased. ^_^

Yes, but since you are part of the TL community which typically prides itself on striving to be slightly more civil than the rest of the interweb, the least you can do is attempt to leave polite constructive criticism. It's only a couple bucks, and even if you are disappointed, it's your own damn fault for buying the product.
The product wasn't misrepresented and you had a whole thread full of reviews you could have read through, plus the actual reviews on the app store itself, many of which brought up the exact points you are complaining about. You have every right as an American consumer to be a dick and complain about shit, of course, but you would be doing yourself and TeamLiquid a favor by being a bit more reasonable about it.
e: btw OP, I purchased the app last night, and I definitely enjoy it. Having a neat and tidy place to collect all the biggest and most important SC2 youtube vids without having to search and wade through all sorts of other videos is definitely an added value worth more than $2-3 bucks to me.
However, I will say that the continued success of the app is entirely dependent on you maintaining it on a regular basis and continually updating the vids. If you can do this as well as you have been going forward, my money will have been very well spent indeed.

Love this app so far. It does work on the iPad, and while the area is larger, it does not fill the entire iPad screen. Still nice to have on both devices. Thank you for your efforts on this.

Suggestion - add matchup in the browse section, allowing players to browse through the 6 different race matchups.
I'm having to scroll through to see the PvP matches... It'd be handy if I could filter.

Dude...that has nothing to do with the app....
When you are on 3g the Iphone limits youtube\video quality, if you connect via wifi the video quality improves drastically. Jailbreak your iphone like a man\grownup and get the 3gunrestrictor app. I honestly can't understand why anyone who's under the age of 35 has a non jailbroken Iphone....

Still waiting for an iPad app.
Are you going to be going universal so all of us iPad users can pull the trigger now or are you going to be very uncool/American and do two separate versions and double dipping?

Any chance of this being made for the Windows Seven Mobile operating systems?

And iPad version is already submitted and waiting for Apple's approval.
Unfortunately, I couldn't do it as a universal app, as there is a bug (a bit hard to explain it, but currently it's visible when using the iphone version on the ipad) which would've been still there if I made it as a universal app. The bug is in the development/compiling platform, and reaches all 3.2.x devices (not all iPads will be updated to 4.2 any time soon).
So there, an iPad version will be available soon. Within a week hopefully.

Hey man,
I just recently stumbled upon sc2casts.com itself, thanks to the Ret vs qxc KotH match, and I must say I love the site. The ability to filter by event, players, casters and matchup is awesome, and the frequent updates give some attention to matches that would otherwise go unnoticed.
I didn't find a dedicated sc2casts thread, so I thought I'd show my appreciation here, and I'm eagerly awaiting the Andoid version of this app.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you good sir
I would like to see an Android version as well! The app looks great so far!
This app has saved me from hours of boredom in my easier classes.
(though I do not support bad behavior in school, TL school children)
I am ordering this app ONLY BECAUSE I see that it has full series' from MLG and also some Day[9] dailies, as well as a few good casters. Most of the casters on the list from sc2casts.com are not the greatest so they aren't really worth paying for the convenience factor of having them all in one app. Anyways the things I mentioned before make it worth it to me, so keep the tournament vods coming!
Anyways thanks for the app!
P.S. I do not mean this to bash casters, that's why I didn't name any in specific. I DO appreciate what all the sc2 casters out there do even if I don't like them personally. If they get viewers to watch them then more power to them! Plus it isn't like I could do any better... haha.

Just bought and tried out SC2Casts HD for the iPad. The software itself works well, but it seems to suffer from the same issue as the iPad's own Youtube app: on high quality it can't keep up with the bandwidth for some reason, causing pauses every 30-40 seconds. According to the iPad speedtest.net client, my download speed is 8.7mb/s (my WLAN router doesn't have N-support) and my actual WAN connection is about 18mb/s, so when watching the casts on my desktop PC, there are obviously no pauses or bandwidth issues.
One request I have would be to allow to manually specify the quality of the video you want from within the SC2Casts application. The fact that I am connected via WLAN for example, does NOT automagically mean that I want the highest quality video possible. What if I am at a friend's place who does have WLAN, but only has a 2mbit outgoing connection?
I wonder what my problems are actually caused by: is it really that 8.7mb/s WLAN connection is plain not enough to watch the high quality streams without pauses or is there some fundamental problem with the iPad that affects both the stock Youtube application as well as the SC2Casts app?
It's difficult to get a constantly fluid video in HQ over 3G (be it on YouTube or w/e), but it's ok. My actual problem is: This app won't launch on my device (4.0.1, 3GS, jailbroken)... Quite sad.

This is an ipad wide issue with youtube videos. I've found a solution (weird as it may sound) - try different DNS addresses on the iPad (google for it, there are some free-open dnses)

I actually work in support and a weird DNS issue is about the last thing that would pop on my mind regarding this particular problem. Forcing Google DNS into the settings seems to have actually solved it.

iPad yes, but isin't an iPod or iPhone screen Just. Too. Small. for SC2 vod's?How can you see anything, and how could you see the resource counts and numbers of units being built.
That's my biggest concern for this app, that SC2 (or SCBW for that matter) need bigger screens. Can anyone who has this tell me if the screen of their handheld is sufficient? thanks

i know that you are planning to release it on android, so enough said. i'm patient
awesome app, i use it every day... a few things that could improve it though:
-the app does seem to crash every once and a while when i change menu's, so that needs to be fixed.. -i wish there were a show winner spoiler button just so i could see who would win in some games because i like to watch zerg win in games but its so annoying trying out every replay and watching them lose every game -show the GSL games! if i could watch tastosis casts on the GSL, i would use this app at least twice as much because those are the best.
just my feedback. great app in general
Tried it on iphone, worked well. Now have a Galaxy tab so make this to Android and i'd be a happy dude
Some feedback on how you can improve your app (for iPhone) even further:
In the Top Rated tab: Swap the position of Week and Month in the top, making it more consistant. Now it's: Today, Month, Week, Ever Should be (imo): Today, Week, Month, Ever (rising order)
Also, after browsing the "Ever"-list and then browsing other tabs (in the bottom) and then getting back to "Top Rated", it automatically shows the casts in "Today", even though "Ever" is highlighted at the top.
In the Browse tab: "By Player", "By Caster" and "By Event" are all huge lists. Making it possible to browse the list the same way you browse you contact list (alphabetical scrolling) would be just awesome, and make it a lot easier to find what you are looking for, i.e.: I had to scroll for "ages" to get down to SlayerS_BoxeR.
Also, it should be possible to sort the "By Event" list by most recent event in addition to alphabetical.
Otherwise, thanks for a great app! Cheers
Some of the stuff you mentioned is fixed in an upcoming update (which is waiting for apple's approval for more than 9 days now!!!)
Some of the other things, I will eventually work on
Thanks for that feedback.

10 days "waiting for review" so far. Should be coming anytime now. But with apple's approval, you never know ...
Have this app on my iphone pretty fantastic, some of the casters they have are kinda boring and not so good, but for the most part good place to find replays quick and easy anywhere you are, pretty cheap as well, highly recommend.
If you open in the Android market as well, I'd definitely would buy it
Update ticked in today! Hooray!
I see that you fixed the position on Week and Month. Great!
I hope my other feedback (1 bug and 2 improvements) gets implemented in the future
Oh, and I just noticed a bug that caused the app to crash: In the Browse-tab - Clicking on "By Player", "By Caster" and "By Event" before the previous one completed loading causes the app to crash. I.e: Browse -> Clicking "By Caster", then "By Event" (before "caster" completed loading), and then "By Player" (before any of the first completed loading, making the running queue two lists)
Keep up the good work!

What device are you trying it on?
Is it jailbroken?
Do you try to pirate it? :D

Want for Windows Phone. Other than that, looks like an awesome app!

Hi,
I bought this app a while back, but it just doesn't work. It loads with a black screen and then just crashes. I know that jailbroken phones have issues with youtube, but the phillyd app, and the official youtube app work fine on my iphone 4. It's a real shame that this happens but I just thought I should let you know!
2 things:
Why didn't you e-mail me right away, as it says in the description, I answer right away
And second - there are couple of solutions to this. Easiest of which is just to delete the app and download it again from the store (it won't charge you twice).
If that doesn't work - let me know.
I would say that a 10 minute response was pretty fast! I never read the description that closely
The redownloading worked for me, thanks
I'll buy it for my itouch, but I really need to get a card attached to my itunes.

If it's not too much of a hassle, I'd love an update on what you are working on now chukpeev
From previous post i know you're working on the android version, but anything else you got in the works or planned?
I'm just looking for something to look forward to
Another update ticked in just now chuckpeev. Great work! Seems I can't get the app to crash now, now matter how much I stress test it
This is truly turning out to be a perfect app! :D
Any plans for alphabetical scrolling in "By Player", "By Caster" and "By Event" in the Browse tab in the future, aswell as ability to sort by most recent events in "By Event" ?
Yea, phonebook like view will be coming to the browse section in the next update (haven't started working on that, but will soon).
There's an update that's coming up (currently being reviewed by Apple) for the HD version, which will add the thumbs up/down and will fix all previous bugs (that were fixed in the iphone version by the last 2 updates).
The android version, I should submit to the android market today. Will announce it when I do!
Awesome chukpeev, just plain awesome
You're doing a great job!
Good stuff, well appreciated.

Wow, I just downloaded this for my new Droid X, and it's freakin' amazing. Watching the EGStrifeCro/InControl match in High Def through the YouTube app and I am very impressed. Awesome! Thank you so much!

I'm sorry if this was already asked in a previous page, but are you going to add support for Blackberry OS's? If so, I would hands-down get this. This looks amazing!
Its awesome. Congratulations. The best sc2 android app in the market.
I love this. Make more stuff pls
I find the screen on my 2G iPod Touch just enough :D I can just exactly read the food count, and jugde how many digits there are on minerals, gas and in the production tab.
I watch games on this daily right now :b its been a life saver when I was sick for a couple of days.
EDIT: Just read through some of the thread and wanted to high-light a wanted feature from another user. Subscribtions :O Could it be possible I could high-light my favorite casters, and have a separate page somewhere with their games in chronological order (or by rating, divided into days, I dunno)
Im glad you made an Android version. QR barcodes ftw.

Purchased it a while ago and I find myself using the iPhone app a lot lately. It's awesome and I want to thank you for it!

I've already posted here, but i feel the need to post again just to put more emphasis on how useful tjis product is. Good work.

Just watched SlayerS_Boxer vs FruitDealer at Blizzcon while eating lunch and taking the browns to the super bowl. Gotta love this app, now I can watch SC on Demand!
thank you for producing the android version of this app... love the site and now i can watch the videos on the app from anywhere
Thanks very much this is very useful app. Everything so well organized easy to find
App is brilliant use it on the bus to college everyday. Already given it 5/5 on iTunes and don't know what else to say other than I'm speechless.
I like this app very much. It makes it so much easier to watch casts on my Droid, it's unbelievable.
If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to have the app rotate so it can be used decently when the phone is horizontal. My usual use case for the app involves having my phone in it's multimedia dock, which is only possible when the phone is turned sideways, so it makes it very awkward to use the app since it does not turn like most apps do.
Other than that, it works brilliantly.
How is this playable without a controller?
I have a problem OP. I'm going to be getting an iTouch tomorrow (mostly because of this app), but I'd also like to Jailbreak it so I can play ROMs on it. Am I able to use Apps I bought on my iPod even though it's Jailbroken?
Yes. Jailbroken phones / iPods have access to the Appstore too.

this would rock assuming the internet speed provided in spain in iPhone etc was something faster than about 900bps (no, not kbps, just bps).
I use the free app now, and it works brilliantly. What other advantages do you get if you go for the one that costs money? Great work on creating the app btw. Cheers
No ads, more games in top section, ability to rate games and view rating ...
Just a Q - did you get permission from the casters or not? I was looking at creating a similar app (but sufficiently different that they don't clash) but so far none of the casters have responded to me ;P
love the app, but two things annoys me.
If I receive a text and reply, then the app closes, I will have to go find the video I was watching, and find the point in the video where I was. please make it remember what I did, when the app closed.
And second, in bo3/bo5/bo7 games, please put filler vids, so you don't know the result beforehand, or after a single game.
"And second, in bo3/bo5/bo7 games, please put filler vids"
How do you know the result before hand if you don't scroll to the next part/game?
That's your filler, you cannot be spoiled unless you want to
First, I bought your Android app on the marketplace and am using it on an Archos 70 tablet. Thanks a bunch for writing the app.
I have a feature request. Can you please add the feature to correctly orient the app screen based on how the device is being held? Right now the app only displays in portrait mode. If I hold my tablet in landscape, your app doesn't reorient the screen and instead displays sideways. Alternately, if I hold my tablet upside down your screen is upside down. Most other apps seem to handle screen orientation correctly, given the example orientations I just described.
Thanks again
So amazingly cool, thank you so much!

Is there any way to preload and save the VODs, for times when you dont have wifi?
On February 07 2011 19:05 Viruuus wrote: Is there any way to preload and save the VODs, for times when you dont have wifi?
For now no, there's no way for me to implement this (unless youtube or apple changes something).
hey so i just bought the App and am wondering how i can get it to load high quality vids when on 3g. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
downloaded it, such an awesome app
use it when on toilet ^^
Just want to throw my 2 cents in. Love this app. Works great on iPad, and while it's really just an aggregator of YouTube videos, it does that job well, with a nice interface. Gives me a place to go when I need my SC2 fix without having to search too hard for good videos. If you could get the Day 9 Daily in here, this would be a 5 star app.
I am going to download this for my iPod Touch, though I was just wondering if there is any way you can download the VODs to watch when not connected to the internet? I would love to watch them when i'm away from home!
Thanks,
)
I have been using this phone on my Android for over two months and have the Pro version.
It would be incredible if it would also pull the Day 9 Dailys from the Archives; I know it's not YouTube, but this integration would significantly increase the number of people who purchase this.
I would very much like the ability to download them as well, as any form of interrupt to the streaming video can be very annoying.
Another suggestion would be to have the ability to leave a short comment.
Nonetheless, it's amazingly well done, fun to use, and has exposed me to casters that I was unfamiliar with. I am able to listen in the car, and can have an earbud in wherever I am... like a true sports fan...always able to picture the action, even if I can't watch.
Just bought this good job
Ok why havent I seen this thread ealier!
i just bought it and the application it "has stopped unexpectedly." It forces me to close. I use SE X10 android 2.1...
Just picked this up on my Evo. What a baller app and got it on sale for about $1.50us. Thank you so much because now I can just pull my phone out instead of lugging my laptop around for an sc fix.
Picked up to support SC2cast and Esports so thank you for great price on VDay special. You defiantly should of promoted that more. Didn't even realize you had added Andriod version till I was bored and checked out this thread today.
Four request probably not simple ones though:
1) This some what goes with option 3) but on HTC Incredible the App never closes and annoyingly stays in backround. While not a huge issue would be nice if backing out would actually close the App correct or again with Menu button hit it gives open to "Close App". Would also be fair like i've seen with other Apps when you back out it gives you simple prompt "Do you wish to close the App" Yes / No
2) Allow on the main page for like a Colored Dot system like Green dot for watched / Red dot for not. Or Check mark to have it show we have viewed this series.
3) Way for option to hit menu and allow Feedback to the App.
4) On "Top" tab let us see how many votes (Thumbs up / Thumbs down) without having to go into the preview page. So we can determine how many people are saying it's a top quality view.
Continue making this great addon would hate for it to die off like to many apps I enjoy.
This app is amazing, it's simple and stops me from having to navigate the horrible iPhone YouTube GUI when searching for SC2 matches. Many thanks, 5 stars!
I have the app for the iphone. It is great =)
The add at the top says 75% off while the app page says 50% off. Since the price is an odd $2.72, I feel like something is wrong and I'm hesitant to upgrade.
That being said, I love the app. Only thing more I can ask for are some high level 2v2 games. Keep up the good work!

I forgot to change the AD, sorry about that, will fix it now.
Good sir, i would just like to say, that THIS app is AMAZING along with every word that is synonymous with that word. Thank you very much.
Bought it for iPhone. Looks even better on the iPad. Great app.
this app is ridiculous. Bought instantly
Maybe do a blackberry version?^^
One of my favorite iPhone and iPad apps. One suggestion--can you add a feature to let us favorite players or search by matchup and map?
I'd like to be able to filter games by players, matchup, and map.
I'm also looking for an Blackberry-App Please PM me, if there will be a release-date
I recently bought the iphone app and love it. It's great when I'm sitting on a bus or have some downtime between classes. The only request that I have is to display the map in the description.
I Bought this app on my ipod and it made me buy a iphone4 just so i can use it everywhere. When i get to work early i sit in my car and watch VODs on my phone lol such a great app just needs a few tweaks
Just bought it, awesome!
this probably sounds dumb....but anything like this available for BW?

What would help is this:
I can already buffer VODs, well one VOD that is. That one i can watch later on, no prob, but only if i leave the app open, which isnt easy to do most of the time. So all that you would have to do, is make the app keep the VOD screen on, when you afk your iphone. And not rebuffer of course

Whenever I try to launch this app, my iPod black screens then goes back to the home screen? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Great little app! picked it up for my android and already strolled to add tons of games to the favorite list (: now I will never get bored... anywhere (:

Delete it and install it again from the AppStore and it will work.
Cry Now I need to buy a new phone so I can watch SC2 anywhere. I'm turning into an E-sports junky (if there is such a thing)
Bought it for my iphone. Love it!
Anyone with ipad2 already? Can you verify the app is working smoothly on it? It should be, but just in case
tremendous appli! worth purchasing. Using on Android NexusOne
i also downloaded this and i use it almost daily, it really rocks
Absolutely epic epic epic app..
Drained by Battery 3 times in as many days watching casts too and from work on the train in London.
Soon as they install WAP's on the tube so i can access the data underground ill be set.
Thanks for a great app..
just got it on my android last week and i love it so much <333 i wanna buy the full version soon!
thanks guys, glad you like it!
Was this app not taken down after Blizzard requested some SC2 Apps be removed from the app store?
So I set a default for this to open the videos in Opera Mobile, but every it trys to launch a video it doesn't work. I can't seem to reset it to allow me to choose a new default browser either. Any suggestions?
good job
Awesome application, definitely worth 3 dollars!
Just bought it on Android. Thanks for the hardwork!
Bought it. I enjoy using it almost every day!
I'm definitely going to buy this when my iTouch is charged ^^;
I have a request with this app.
Not sure if it is mentioned elsewhere.
There should be an option to watch the video in lower than maximum quality. Outside USA or on less than optimal connections the lower res videos will stream, but the highest quality video will not, they take ages to come in and that is a joy killer.
I end up using sc2casts then going to youtube.com in the phones browser and un-checking the red HQ checkbox to watch the video because I can't watch it from sc2casts directly as it defaults to 720p or whatever the max available is.
this app is brilliant. now if only my iphone still worked i'd be using it.
1 friendly reminder, the QC code on android is to the full version. I didn't know there's a free/lite version until I read some comments. Maybe put both QC code there please? thx
such an amazing app thank you thank you
I use this, It's very good... It's almost just as good as watching them at home
Great Work, this app is really useful when I'm bored on the bus :D
Gonna try this out right now (Android)
I love using this in class when the teacher is going over something i already know :D
Anyone interest in a BlackBerry app for this? Thinking about developing one. Also been bouncing ideas in my head to try and make it able to watch various streams. Thoughts anyone?
Oh my god, I think he just divided by zero. This is awesome!
Still my go to app whenever I fire up the iPad. I think other people have suggested this before and would love to see the following improvements.
1. Search/filter by matchup. 2. Filter by caster. 3. Track recently watched list. 4. Create and add games to a playlist.
Thanks for your great work so far.
Wow. I downloaded this today seeing as it was on sale and this app is confirmed awesome. One thing i would love to see is to have a section where you can see all the games sorted by caster. I like to listen to specific casters and it is a slight nuisance to have to rummage around.
Other than that, this app is pretty awesome. I love the quality and the UI as it is very simple.
I just dl it. It's nice to say the least. Great app!
Am I the only person having trouble getting the videos on this to actually load?
Awesome app in concept, but I just can't seem to get it to run right after actually choosing a video >_<;;
What the difference between the light verson and the payed one on android?
Read the description of the "light version", the end of the description, and you'll see
if you add an option to lower the quality i will buy your app
Wish they had an iPod version. I'll try to dl it anyway.

Yes, it should work on your iPod touch too ...
I like the app more than the website :O

i would like to read and leave comments on the paid version of the android App.

deffinetly worth the money! Awesome app!

Got the update today. Great job! This app is perfect for catching games in class hahaha
It's sad, that you had to remove the icons.
Just got this for my Iphone! its awsome!! Only problem is that it freezes when i go back the browse menu after watching a game
Edit: This App is brilliant! I watched soo many games last night!!!
Yes, it seems like Blizzard is cracking down on apps on itunes. Alot of em (mine included) have been given an infringement notice. I'm just wondering if I remove all pictures, sound and words that says "StarCraft" then will that be infringing?
Great app, thanks

I think you'll be good if you do that. Otherwise you can expect Apple to remove it at any point without further notices ...
getting it on my iphone 4 shure!!
awesome app, though have you ever considered making it look more sleek and stylish with custom icons and so on?
If you need help or anything id gladly chip in with some graphics, gimme a pm
Well i don't know what i could have done on school without this app :p
Very nice app - I've been using it alot on my Android lately
gr8 app
Thanks again for the app, try and watch a game whenever I'm on break or get a spare moment, keep up the great work guys, really appreciate it!
This app is amazing. Thanks guys!
I have tried this app on my HTC phone before, and it looked nice, but the screen size was too small for me to really want to use it for watching SC2 on a regular basis.
Now I have finally gotten my Motorola Xoom, and was excited to try the app on a bigger screen, however, it is force closed at startup.
I'm guessing this has to do with Android 3.1. Do you have any plans to support this in the future, or would it require a lot of redesign?
Any chance of a windows 7 phone app in the future?
Just wanted to say this is sick. Great job.

This is a great app! Awesome when Im stuck somewhere and bored. Can search for some games and watch some sc2! :D
really good app worth buying
I have had the app on my phone for a while and love it. The only issue I've ever had is that the loading times can be quite long and I don't even think that is an issue with the app.
Whats the difference between the free and the paid version? Only the ads? Edit: Great app
Nope, read the Android free version description, there is a list of features available in the paid version only
hi had this app for about a month now - REALLY nice :D the only thing is that when i get a call/msg etc, and i f.e check the msg, ive gotta start the vod all over again but, thats just ONE small thing i am real happy with the app
definitely gonna buy when i get my htc

wow great job. Loving it all up atm.
I can't seem to open the VoDs on my HTC Hero. Neither with the Browser nor with the Youtube app. Any workarounds, or am I just screwed?
Very nice app..runs as it should on desire s...very helpfull for guys like me who don't have much time at home and time for searching VODs. Even a free version for Android, but buying the App is definetly worth it
just bought it, so far so good!
Wow great app AND website, thanks!
I really like it! Good job.
Just got this app for iPhone, so awesome!!! I like the built in rating system, though i would give it 10/5 stars if you could download the games for watching while offline.
I use this on my htc desire hd and i love it. But I bought the pro version for my galaxy 10.1 tab and it instantly crashes. Is it not compatible with android 3.1?
Please make it so you don't have to start it all over again when texting, other than that i love it
Yea, not compatible with 3.1 for now, it's only for phones, not tablets
Use it on my Samsung Exhibit it's awesome HD Sc2 looks awesome
Hm, using Android 2.1 and it doesn't let me login. Always "invalid username/password", though on PC I can log in without any problems.. No I did not make any typos.
Just wanted to say that this is an amazing app on the iPad2. So convenient and easy to use! Love this app!

Did you try deleting the app and re-installing it? You got it from the app store, right?
And which version of the OS are you using?
We'll fix this don't worry.
I have this app, its great.. really helpful and awesome... feels good too. thanks to whoever made it.
i've had this app for the longest time i absolutely love it <3 it's something to do whenever i have internet possibly bored in class haah fantastic app <3
This app seems so awesome :D
Would love a android 3.0+ version that looks similar to the iPad version because the android 2.0 doesn't look very good on a 10 inch tablet.
I have the same problem. Bought the 5$ app (version 1.9.5) for my iPad 2 (16 gB, wifi) version 4.3.3...
The app crashes right as I open it. I cant even get to a main menu or anything.
Any help?
Also.. Are you going to be adding the ability to view live streams rather than just prerecorded games uploaded to youtube?

Great app. Purchased it
Love it for when im on the subway on my way to school
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to make this, just bought it.

I'd like a feature where it keeps track of the games I've already watched. I like to look at the top rated games from the last month, but sometimes I forget what I've watched.

The feature is there. Once you click on a series, it'll gray it out in all lists so that you know you already clicked it

Will this app let me download VODs to my phone? So I can DL at home and watch on the go, not using my phone plan bandwidth
I am considering getting a smart phone but since Verizon doesn't have unlimited bandwidth anymore I will go over so easily with streaming content I am thinking not to get it.
+250 yen to your cause! Hoping this app makes my commutes more enjoyable.
I'm getting an ipod just for this. Watching starcraft in class :D
Any possibility of bringing the app to webOS? I get plenty of SC2 through livestreams and Flash but would love to be able to have casted games available to me.

Thanks for answering my question.

I've got the same request ZionsWrath is so eloquently describing. It'd be great if there were a way to download these videos to the ipad. I've only got the WLAN version and I'd love to watch some games on my long train ride to school, which is not possible like this.
If that is too much to ask, I'd be happy if there were at least an option to copy the video URL to the ipad clipboad, that way I could use some other app (I think I've seen one in the store) to download the videos and then watch them on the go.
Edit: found out how to save URL to clipboard and the app for downloading works. The process it a bit tedious, though, and I'd still love the feature in-app. I've got my bases covered now, though, even if it's with another 3 bucks app. I'll gladly pay that for unlimited entertainment

I agree. I would like to see this. If there is a way to DL the content and then watch on-the-go without some kind of 3G network I will buy this in a heartbeat. No point in getting it otherwise cause why not use my computer instead of my ipad for wifi in my house ???
As I said, there is a way, you just have to look for it
Very nice, i will buy this!
Very cool. Gonna grab one.
And btw guys. Ive an iPhone for about a couple days now and I've been addicted browsing it. However, I cannot seem to find how to change the "name displayed" at the upper left corner of the screen at the home page of the phone. You know, the besides the signal strength indicator? Need halp!
Just on a note on the Android version.
There appears to be an issue with Honeycomb on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 - seems to crash when I re-orient the screen by turning around the tablet. I get a force close error.
Just to thank you for this app - it's great.
Fantastic App, was worth every penny!
Got the app, no time to test it, hope it works =(
This is BIG stuff. Very nice job!!
Uhm 2.99 why not free? its just youtube videos right?
yes it is however it is made query-able by player, match, popularity etc...If for nothing else just by this app to support the sc2 community in general. I did, it was well worth a mere 3 bux.
Are there only pro casts on it? I love all the well known casters, but I feel like having some of the incredibly unknown casters on an app like this (maybe a separate app just to keep the fans of the pro casters happy) would really help them out a lot, as well as give even more of a boost to Esports. Not even going to put a plug in here for my own youtube channel
One of the best apps for sc2! #Winning
Great app. EVen though it's 2.99, which is pricy for a youtube organizer I can't help but feel all the tender-love&care that has been put into this project. I'll support it. For esports!
Thank you!
i miss the dates being shown for each game, would be nice to know when a game was played.
other than that, kickass
App is really good, but i'm sad to buy an ipad version when: 1) I've already bought an iphone one, and i don't like this versions diversification stuff 2) Web version is pretty usable
This app and website are pretty awesome my only question as an up an coming starcraft II commnetator how do I get my stuff posted/uploaded on the stie?????
Looks awesome man!!! Someone needs to hurry up and make something for BlackBerry. Only regret I have about getting it is that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE makes anything good for it.... Could this app be made to work on BlackBerry? That would be totally awesome!
Downloaded and rated 5stars! Great app, awesome for sc2 on the go! :D
Just got an iPad, gonna try this out. Thanks for taking the effort to produce it!
This app is really what helped me get into Starcraft. Very nice! One of my all time favorite apps.
Use this app on my android every night before bed ~ :D
I was really excited...until I realized it's just a youtube video organizer and for $2.99 at that.
This is great for the community, but I suggest lowering the price a little bit.

seems I'm the only one not liking it. low quality youtube organizer, I don't buy into the 'lets support e-sports in general'. why did I pay for something I can watch for free and in better quality on my computer. my iphone even comes with the youtube app straight out of the box. I pay almost $3 for not having to type in the search text myself.
Would it be possible to get a BW section with the proleague matches?! That would be fantastic!
could you port that to the nokia n900?
I already have youtube on my phone.
I was pissed off about the free app going away too, so I just bookmarked sc2casts.com/all on my phone and have the exact same functionality that the app provided me.
If you could add a particular feature I'd happily pay $5 for this app. Please please please make it so it has the ability to store the buffer locally and essentially download the video for offline viewing.
Where I am mobile data costs a metric buttload and having this ability would allow me to load up videos at home using fixed net and watch on my commute. I can't see it as being particularly difficult to implement either.
Unfortunately, downloading VODs is against the youtube TOS so I can't implement it in those apps...
I've decided to get myself an iPhone for the holidays and I am sooooo excited about watching VODs. I'm attending university right now and have a lot of times when I have to wait around for 20 minutes or so in between classes and would love to spend that time watching Starcraft! :DDD
SC2Casts.com must require a metric fuckload of effort to catalog the amount of games that it does...paying for the app is how you support the people who do what they do, and the YouTube client is pretty crappy on iOS anyway. Paying $5 for the iPad app is a bit much, though I bought it anyway for some reason.
Thank you Ruscour Appreciated
Just got this! Fantastic app!
Gonna buy it right now been waiting for something like this for ages
Amazing work my friend! I've wanted something just like this for 6 or more months!! haha.
Bought and downloaded. You have my support! Thank you for all of your work put into this, I hope you make a good profit on it man :D Keep up the great work and I'll be hoping for more apps from you, because you sir are crafty. /hat tip
Downloaded the free version, and the microsoft youtube player to my new Lumia 800, gets an "unexpected error" Is the free version not working? Ill buy it ofc if thats the reason
Weird question, but youtube for iPad has changed - even when I go to "view on youtube" I can no longer adjust the quality? This is a pain as it means I can't load the videos quickly Anyone found a way to do it?
