Isn't that how it works? That's how wild growth works.
Maybe I don't understand hearthstones.

Wild Growth attempts to give you an empty mana crystal. As 10 is max it gives you excess mana instead at 10 mana. This card works more like innervate/nourish (more like nourish, really, since innervate is only for 1 turn) where you gain full mana crystals. Just like if you innervate at 10 mana the mana will simply be lost. You get no excess mana card. It literally is just "discard your whole hand, now you're at 10, mana" Can work with allowing you to hero power a ton that turn (with the new hero power centric cards) or if you have minion draw cards like loot hoarder though since you can play your hand, play that, then draw with minion draws and play the things you draw.

In comparison I prefer to see AM. Or Lina who, even if her combos look as basic (Eul's -> LSA -> burn away, or drop LSA after ally follow-up and Laguna Blade when in a burst line-up), she's at least flashy, which helps for spectators. I'm generally more hype for a non-setup (and in vision) LSA hit that a calldown on your ganked ally getting run to.

Drop Calldown like you'd drop an Azir wall (as in, you can land amazing ones, but usually per nature of the ability you can drop it about anywhere near the fight and you're at least doing 0K), and flak cannon's effect isn't the most visible as a spectator (I recognise the sound but in the middle of a teamfight it tends to be covered by other spells; maybe it's just me not trained enough though). + Show Spoiler + And yeah I know Shaker is super hype and stuff... although I never bothered to look at Echo's animation so I had to rewatch the video thrice to get in which order he used his abilities. For such a popular hero, I should pay more attention.

The order of actions on the card is Gain 10 Mana Crystals->Discard your Hand, not the other way round.

Still seems like it would be a fun card to combo with Loot Hoarder and whats his name the epic skeleton 1/1 guy. Which you probably wouldn't take in a ramp deck anyway?

You want expensive minions so that when you play the card you can get value. But if you draw them before, you end up just discarding them because you won't have played them yet. It really feels like an RNG topdeck card. You can talk about a lot of perfect scenarios for the card, but it's very hard to create those scenarios consistently without having flops come up equally often. E.g. the Loot Hoarder/Thalnos scenario sounds nice if you can play them and crack them after, but what if you dump your hand and all you draw are those 1/1s and 2/1s for 3 straight turns? If those are your turn 5-7 draws, you basically just lose the game. Or worse, you draw all the big guys you want to use it to play before you get the card itself.

Like, if the core of your deck is rushdown, having a dead turn 4 is going to kill your tempo, even if you do draw something useful the next turn.
