Here's hoping that things picks up for everyone sooner rather than later. That's rough Frudgey. Numy, it all depends on what kind of MTG you want to play. Generally if you're looking to build a deck and play that at FNM, it's cheaper to buy the singles for the deck you need than attempt to buy packs and hope to open what you want. If you like to gamble, then by all means crack some packs! Personally I like playing limited (drafting), so it's almost like the best of both worlds. They play Legacy every second and standard most other nights then I think limited once a month. What happens in October? I don't particularly mind spending a bit atm as I'm just kind of hermit at home. Quite a few guys there trading singles for cheap too so if I can get an idea of what kind of cards I'm looking at for a deck I can prob put it together alright if it isn't some beastly thing. edit: The 9/7 for 9 card seems underbudgeted? Fire ele is 6/5 deal 3 for 6 and Dragon Ele is 5/4 deal 3 for 5. Feels like this card should be 9/8 deal 4 or 9/7 deal 5. 3 damage vs 4 damage doesn't seem that big a deal currently. Unless there's a huge swing to 4 hp cards it feels kind of shitty even as a budget late game card for new players. edit2: Sorry I think they play modern format every 2nd week.

Legacy and Modern are comparatively expensive to get into, even though they change more slowly than Standard. This is on account of most decks in both formats requiring many older cards (Legacy allows cards from every set ever made, with a banned/restricted list; Modern allows every set printed after the card layout change in 2003).

Yea, that just happened. Never felt this ragey before ever. Had it in LoL, where I basically left a group because I did accomodate newcomers, tried to help them (and got raged at) and stuff until I got tired of getting told off or never getting to play some champs ('cause they'd only play them) and got labelled at the one bitching when I raised the issue. But I assume you were talking about the physical part, not the "everyone turns against you" (or toward the perpetrator) part.

![]() Although I think the funniest thing I heard was when Alex Navarro on the Giant Beastcast talked about Melee being hard to watch for an outsider and then right on to praise how watchable MVC3 was lol.

Melee - Jigglypuff jumping off the ledge and grabbing it again. People get hit I guess but the characters are so small you don't even see the animation of moves. I'm biased because I played Marvel much more than Melee but I definitely agree with him on that. It's not so much it's difficult to understand what's going on in Melee, it's difficult to understand what's interesting about it and get bored.
