Add to this that a lot of "classics" were actually serials published weekly or monthly, and that their authors were paid on word count, and it explains why some of these stories have episodes sometimes totally unrelated to the plot line, and absurdly convoluted and pompous wording (like when I use 10 lines to say something that'd take 3, except they did it on purpose). Some people find it tedious to read because of that. As for the parody, you don't really have to worry, in the end romance novels and such old stuff use devices that's still found in current candy eye books, TV series, etc. Tropes and cliche abound, and if they're cliche, that's because at some point they started being spammed in works.  I should read Agatha Christie. But if I wanna read mystery stuff, I should finish Umineko first. | ||

My main issue with it is that the base part feels too big of a flat surface to have that shiny of a color on. Maybe I need to put a design on there or use a decal or something, or do you think it looks fine? I still have a lot of painting to do on it, obviously. The "mask" part on the left of his face is going to be a white, the shoulder pads blue, details in teal and green. I might go over parts of the gun arm in a gunmetal, but I wanted to see what it would look like with a bronze weapon.
