For me this month is hell because I simply have nothing to do. Ugh I feel like I'm wasting my life away gradually I want to go back to school so at least I can be engaged with something.

I mean, in the last year of high school you still study all the subjects and you can't fail in any of them, otherwise they're not gonna admit you to the finals. You get a grade separate for each subject. If you don't choose any science and then apply to a science school it means you're retarded and will probably fail the first semester. And yes, it doesn't really evaluate ALL of your knowledge on the subject, but it does evaluate your knowledge on the question you get.

It kinda depends on the subject. With something like physics or math, it's possible to present a single question that actually does cover a broad range of understanding because of how fundamentally interconnected concepts are. Especially at a high school level, I don't think it's that hard to actually come up with a single question that demands an understanding of basically every concept you covered in the entire year to answer thoroughly.

With something like the biological sciences, you kind of do have to test much more thoroughly than that to meaningfully determine mastery of the material. Mostly because there actually are a lot of disparate concepts that can individually be understood but don't necessarily imply mastery of any of the others, so evaluating some arbitrary subset of your knowledge doesn't correlate well to your overall understanding.

The guitar is too heavily distorted for me (particularly during the solo) and I dislike the final part (last minute or so), but apart from these the melody is great, and the shitty love metaphor I feared between the woman pictures and the "crosshair on my heart" line didn't happen, so yay.
