Or do you just get one grade. what if you choose no science but then apply to a science school... Compared to the system here where you write a specific exam for each course 1.5-2hrs long worth like 20-40% of your grade in that class. So your physics exam would cover everything you covered in that course ideally. Other classes only have it cover what you have learned since the midterm. Your way seems to fall really short of actually evaluating someones knowledge. But grats on doing well! see the funny thing is that in european academia on education, it is often considered silly and counterproductive to test to an extensive degree like what is common in US and similar school systems and that excessive testing teaches kids nothing but how to pass tests, which philosophically central european education tried to avoid like the plague. It's sort of starting to get phased in with the standardization and globalization movements atm (mainly driven by politicians and the economy sector) and the science part is mostly rather unhappy about it.

I doubt anyone here would argue for the crazy amount of testing that goes on in America. I just think having a 10/15 minute oral exam seems just as crazy lol. One day we'll have a better way and look back on history thinking why were we so barbaric, just like everything else really.

Like the physics test would be remember the formula and here are the variables. remember which one goes where and use your calculator. Better teachers obviously have better worded questions to make you think about it but as far as any standardized test goes this sums it up pretty well. In my private middle school it was much better. tests looked more like what we saw on the gauss math test which was a pretty good time. ekko in ranked already? ill see you there jon galt! but not till like 7-8pm EST
