Not to be weird or anything, but I actually do a bunch of volunteer work with homelessness in Georgia (I'm in Atlanta). I don't suppose you're one of the hobos I worked with Cixah... Pg 500 #yoloswag

My next door neighbor legit dropped his son off at the army reserve sign-up and left him there when he turned 18 because his son didn't want to go to college at that point in time. It's like, just wow. He's such a fucking cock though in general though so yeah.

I've been forced to buy stupid university-edition online textbooks but I can't access them because I don't have consistent internet, what kind of a joke is this. Pg 500 #yoloswag That being said, imagine how hard it is to have good internet at a decent size uni. Probably like 5000 people all with a Laptop, a Desktop, a Phone, maybe even a tablet. Even if they just checking their emails zomg the bandwidth required. Georgia Tech is several times larger than Emory and I believe they have the 'best' internet of any college based on whatever specifications. It's absolutely ridiculous-- we have a bigger budget and spend it on diversity dinners (I'm all for free dinner btw) but can't be bothered to replace the routers. The lab I worked at over the summer was forced to move a lot of their stuff to the cloud which was cool in theory because it would allow them to run and access stuff from anywhere, then we found out the existing connection was too slow to do anything. We basically couldn't run any data analysis for two weeks because of it.

I feel very lucky to have a family that actually likes each other, I never realized how nice it was until I saw other families on the other end of the spectrum.

Yeah, hard choices for sure. I guess same is true for me, although a slightly different circumstance. I moved out with my girl because neither of our parents woudl tolerate sleepovers. I love her, she loves me, so we bit the bnullet and worked our asses off 80+ hours a week and moved out together. I couldn't imagine paying the 20 grand for tuition and for a place without the help of another person. Virtually impossible I'd say. Alberta is even prime job location, both of us had solid summer work and pretty good part time jobs and man was it tight.
