One of the most successful styles of TurboFog was a deck called Owling Mine. The name is a pun based on the two key cards in the deck - Howling Mine and Ebony Owl Netsuke. As you can probably guess from reading these two cards, the entire premise of the deck is to have your opponent have lots of cards in their hand and then have each copy of Ebony Owl Netsuke you have in play then deal 4 damage to their face. The rest of the deck is card draw to find your kill conditions, and stuff that slows your opponent down. Note that some of these cards such as Evacuation fulfil a dual role in both slowing your opponent down as well as setting up the Owl kill. It's because this deck pro-actively tries to actually kill your opponent that it's probably also the only one that's actually done decently at the competitive level. (Well, that and at the time the power level of Standard was very different to what it is now. Still!)
The more "traditional" flavours of TurboFog however rely on milling or decking your opponent out. Recent examples include this deck where you just sit around not doing anything until your opponent runs our of cards. You'll notice the Elixir of Immortality which is present so you don't actually run out of cards first, especially when you're drawing so heavily in order to find your fogs and stuff. It also has the useful effect of putting all your fogs back into your deck so you can reuse them if you need to.
Of course if you prefer winning games in less than 40+ turns there are other TurboFog variants that have been used recently. This includes this deck which plays Stonehorn Dignitary and repeatedly bounces it to lock your opponent out of their combat phase. And eventually you find a power card like Entreat the Angels and just kill them. Or if you prefer your decks to have 100% more jank in them then you might find the this deck hilarious. The entire point of the deck is just to play fog cards until you assemble all the Guildgate cards and then use Maze's End to win.
To be clear though... these decks are generally very terrible and are only even remotely playable in Standard when there are enough Fog style cards that you can run a critical mass to stall a game out long enough that the rest of your deck can actually do something. And at this point you're mostly an inferior control deck. You only really play these decks because you're a Johnny type player.
On a side note, I do recommend you read up on all the material about player profiles like Timmy/Johnny/Spike and Melvin/Vorthos since it's pretty cool. Also, if you actually liked my post but said to yourself "If only a Designer at WotC tried to talk seriously about a deck archetype that is completely silly" then here's a freebie.

RIP Rich Gang
You were the best team in the OPL; the only reason to watch it

Any suggestions for good action RPG's (can also be MMO's as long as it has good singleplayer) with good graphics? I'm basically looking for games like Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning, but then actually good.

8 hours minimum a day since Monday.
C'mon dawg.
And it only gets better with each listen. I personally believe it to be better than GKMC and Section 80. Kendrick has gotten progressively better with each mixtape and album from Training Day to To Pimp a Butterfly. And the rumor is the next thing he gonna work on is a collab album with J Cole which would be hype as fuck. Watch the Throne on a million.
Oh yeah, for anyone who is a fan of kdot I HIGHLY suggest going back to listen to Training Day and Overly Dedicated, his two mixtapes before Section 80. They are very good and it's incredible to see how he has grown, but was still soooo good back in his younger days.
@owb, doctorbeat, soniv - favorite song?? Gotta say my tops are King Kunta, These Walls, u, Hood Politics, How Much a Dollar Cost, You Ain't Gotta Lie, i. Fuck. I actually just love every song on the album. Gun to my head though... Might have to go with How Much a Dollar Cost. Jiminy Cricket that's a tough choice though.

Yeah, I tried that one but it just got really boring after a while. I had pretty good gear for my level, but everything single ability didn't really do much. Just fighting one enemy took forever. But that's just my opinion. I really liked LOTRO though.

I never hear bad things about the Witcher series, and I myself and am enjoying it. Knights of the Old Republic, but that doesn't go with your good graphics. Well they aren't bad, but they are certainly dated(ish). I have also heard really good things about Shadow of Mordor.

Yeah, maybe I should have listed things I already played, which is basically SWTOR, LOTRO, Shadow of Mordor, Skyrim, KoA:Reckoning, the Witcher and I think that's it.

Shadow of Mordor is great if you do all the side missions. If you just Zerg the story, it's boring as fuck.

Consider some weeb shit. Maybe FF Lighting Returns?

I actually haven't listened to it a ton - it's not my general kind of music for when I'm trying to get work done. King Kunta is prob one of my top choices though.

Sounds like you would enjoy the Fallout series. I liked New Vegas a lot.

Try Mass Effect if Sci Fi isn't a problem.

How can one be bad at listening to music, Asmo?
I heard bad things about The Witcher's writing, especially the quests that are shoehorned to put you into some pants with no regard for cohesiveness.
|
gothic 1 and 2 and the older thiefs (maybe not 1 tho, that's pretty old I'm not sure your yung heart could handle it)
if gothic is too ugly or too german, risen is an alternative
€: you can also look at tes morrowind. or, god forbid, even oblivion. should be fine if you enjoyed skyrim

That but also listening to it at all because I'm an obsessive podcast listener that needs to finish backlogs.
I'm ALMOST done with the Nerdist backlog.
THINK about that (if you know what I'm talking about).
