Or is there some huge connection to Ouroboros and Marvel vs. Capcom that I'm missing? Because I close my eyes and all I see is Wesker.
Edit: Also Jeff it's hypocritical to call people out on not having standards when you don't have any yourself!

BEST RESIDENT EVIL BEING 5? ARE YOU HIGH?

I am 100% serious when I say that Resident Evil 5 is my favourite Resident Evil. I know that sometimes that I'm less than serious on this forum, but right now I am completely serious with my statement.
I can go on to say why it is my favourite if you wish.

I just don't understand is all. I would like to hear your reasons, mostly because I find 4 to be vastly superior in everyway.

Euro scum bags,
Ask to let to play a champion in the inhouse and they ban it anyway.

I didn't hear it and your US friends told me to ban it. THEY SET ME UP

Alright, let me see if I can enlighten you as to why I like Resident Evil 5. First of all, I'm going to put a disclaimer that I thought that Resident Evil 4 was amazing.
In fact here are some things that I like more about Resident Evil 4 compared to 5: + Show Spoiler +- I like the Atmosphere more. I'd take the Castle over the Marshlands any day. - The Merchant. I love that guy. Sad he didn't appear in 5 in some way. - The enemies are better. In 4 we have deeply unsettling creatures such as the Regenerators, Iron Maidens, and much more. 5's creatures weren't awful so to speak, but 4 wins out by quite a bit. Also the Chainsaw Maniac was much better here than in 5. - On note of the Chainsaw Maniac, 4 doesn't censor it when you get your head sawn off. 5 does. Boo! - The boss battles (for the most part) are better than 5. The Krauser fight in particular was one of my favourites in any video game. - Yellow herbs. I know that they were a small thing, but I really did like having them in the game. Upgradable health is always neat in my books!
Okay so any sane person would be wondering "Okay so why on earth do you like Resident Evil 5 more? You've listed all the reasons why 4 is better than 5!"
Ah, esteemed reader, let me tell you what I like about 5 more than 4: + Show Spoiler +- Resident Evil 5 has Chris as the protagonist. I know many people like Leon more than Chris, but I'm in camp Chris. - I like the weapon load out better. Sure Resident Evil 4 has the mythical Hand Cannon, but I like the variety that 5 has. - Resident Evil 5 has much better melee compared to Resident Evil 4. I don't know if you know this about me, but in video games I love hitting people with my bare fists. Chris letting loose with a Haymaker or Wesker pulling off a Rhino Charge is one of the most satisfying things that I have witnessed in a video game. - Resident Evil 5 feels like a cheesy B movie. Like that they're trying hard to be serious but you can't take them seriously at all. I adore that about Resident Evil 5. - The dialogue. I'm not claiming that Resident Evil 5's dialogue is well written or poetry, but I think some of it's cheesy one liners are some of the best in video games. They make me chuckle. Contrast to whenever Leon tried to do a one liner in Resident Evil 4, it almost felt embarrassing. This is probably one of my more subjective points, but I'm going to leave it in here. - Wesker. In my opinion Wesker is a far better villian than the ones in Resident Evil 4. Wesker is far more memorable in this one, and I think that's because D.C. Douglas was doing the voice. Most of Weskers lines in this game were pure gold. Furthermore, I thoroughly enjoyed the Wesker fights in this game. - Mercenaries. The Mercenaries was great in Resident Evil 4, but Resident Evil 5's mercenaries is exceptional. Sure Resident Evil 4's Mercenaries had different characters and unique character themes, but Resident Evil 5's mercenaries had three more stages, and THIRTEEN more characters if you included gold edition. Favourites for 5 include Barry, BSAA Chris and Midnight Wesker. Furthermore, the Mercenaries 5 music is catchy beyond belief. Also, 5's mercenaries felt more refined compared to 4's, and I think part of that is because of 5's vastly improved melee combat. - Co-op! What better way to experience the goofiness of Resident Evil 5 than to experience with a friend! I've had so many good memories playing this with friends I can't list all of them. I've probably played the campaign of 5 about 8 or 9 times, where for 4 I've only played about 4 or 5 times. And don't get me started about how many hours I've spent into Resident Evil 5's mercenary mode...
So while I think both are amazing games, Resident Evil 5 wins out in my books. Hope this helps explains why I think that!

Frudgey, I think you adequately explained why you think RE5 is your favorite Resident Evil, but not why it's the best.

I can't go telling you guys what the "best" Resident Evil is. At best I can tell you why I think it's the best (and that's what I thought I did with my big post previously), but people will have their "best" games for different reasons. I'm not out to convince you guys that I'm right, I'm just sharing an opinion!

Nonsense. Let me demonstrate:
Resident Evil 2 is the best Resident Evil.

Played some MtG with friends tonight. I created a random deck thrown together with my friend's cards and was able to win 2 out of 5 games played. (There were 3 of us, 3 1v1v1's and 2 1v1's) Highlight of the night was in the 1v1 with my friend. He couldn't kill me with a 21/21 with lifelink, and I ended up killing basically his whole board and ended the game with 55 life haha.
