It didn't help that I had to support against the fun police that is Thresh/Kalista in the last game + Show Spoiler +I learnt that Lulu can't harass Kalista at all because passive means free Q dodge, and her auto animation is slow enough that Kalista can auto a minion then jump backwards, thus cancelling the auto, if you try to harass without standing in her auto range before she attacks (eg. expose yourself to getting auto'd for free). Back to MS quints I guess. . It's not only that they were really bad, though. I'm tired and I was frustrated whenever I played badly or the opponent got away by dumb luck or something similar (see aforementied lane) and it played a part, but I didn't feel on the same page. They kept doing meh to dumb stuff but I knew it would be useless to address it or just give advice as either they wouldn't pay attention, or they'd take it badly if they listened. Prob need to either decide to keep trying to get back to my old level (and avoid these games), or try and learn to be more "no fucks given" when stacking with these kinds of people. Dunno if I can do the second one because I get satisfaction from doing stuff right though. Maybe I should just give myself a limit as to how many games I play so I don't end up feeling like a wasted several hours once the session ends. I'll have to do something about my approach of the game if I want to be able to enjoy it again, though. While I'm all for the approach of just simply not caring, I can appreciate that's not an attitude that every one can adopt. I've found out that some people take their League of Legends very seriously.
I think for you, Alaric, your best bet is to just limit how many games you play. If you're feeling gross after playing, then don't play!
We play games to have fun. As soon as the game stops being fun then you need to stop playing and pick up something else. I get that some people are completionists (E.G. Wave and Platinum God) or that they have goals to achieve (E.G. Ketara and Diamond Division) but I strongly believe that if you're not having fun doing what you're doing, then you need to do something else.

I just can't get myself to care about MtG again. I love the game, but it costs way too much money for my tastes.

I'm about to write a LOT of text about my thoughts on the story so if you're not into MtG or haven't read the new Unchartered Realms click at your own risk!
+ Show Spoiler +A lot of Planeswalkers are characterised as feeling like there's something missing or wrong in their life, and how they can feel there's something out there but they can't really tell what it is. Narset here in the story seems to follow that route, where she always thinks there's something more. Something else she should be going. And that matches her earlier story in old-Tarkir (aka no Dragons Tarkir) where even though she's the Khan and the Englightened Master, she still hasn't found peace and still thinks of imaginary worlds and the thought that there's still truth out there she has still yet to find. Her evolution as a character in this story to me highlights really strongly the difference between the Jeskai (WUR) and the Ojutai (WU) Clans and how they have lost their Red. For the new Ojutai clan, the enlightenment they try to seek is through the marriage of the pursuit of knowledge (U) with pure focus (W), and throwing away all the baggage of emotion (R) that the Jeskai once had. And the story mirrors that transition. We have a Narset at the beginning who feels like she always has to keep doing something. That she always has to seek answers. She has to walk a journey and get to a destination of enlightenment. But when she finally reaches Master and is finally face-to-face with Ojutai, she feels empty. She doesn't know what to do any more. The emotions that have constantly hounded her since childhood don't have anywhere to go any more. And that's when she has a BSOD moment (Obligatory Warning: TV Tropes)And so she goes on a journey to try and find the truth. To find what her life is supposed to be about, because she has nothing left in her life since she has allegedly reached the enlightenment and become a Master of the Ojutai Clan. But as she searches for old scrolls, and travels the entirety of Tarkir trying to find the answers for the question she so desperately holds, she slowly realises her entire approach is wrong. The last exchange between Narset and Ojutai is quite telling: "Once we reflect we must then move forward. All one needs do is seek enlightenment, for there is always more to learn."I think most of the story is really a build up to this moment. At this point, Narset finally understands the real lesson Ojutai has been trying to teach all along. You ask questions not because you necessarily want the answer but because you want to understand what to ask as your next question, and the question after that. And once she learns that, she finally does find true peace with herself and all the emotional baggage she once carried has fallen away. And you can tell Ojutai is really happy when flies away after their final encounter because there is no more he can teach her. And thus, Narset goes from being 'enlightened' in the Jeskai timeline, to actually transcending the flawed 'enlightenment' of the past and replaces it instead with the most important lesson of all. And that's what makes her the Great Teacher's Student.

Rebounding a time stretch is currently my personal favorite. Followed closely by time spiral.

Okay, I have a manners question for TL.
Possibly the worst place to go for manners ever, but this might be hilarious.
You're staying in somebody elses house as a guest for a few days.
You cook dinner in said somebody elses house, as a nice gesture.
Who cleans the kitchen, you or them?
I'm having this discussion with my brother who is currently in this situation, and he's like "if one person cooks the other people clean up" and I'm like, that makes sense when you're all roommates, but when you're a guest in a house you don't live in and you're the one who decided to cook, you have to clean up your own mess.

If you cook for somebody as a nice gesture, you don't make them clean up afterwards. It kind of invalidates the gesture of doing something for them.

You should try to start cleaning. They should say no.

If my gorge on bbq technique doesn't work, at least you had bbq.
