I've been considering starting Myst or something. I kinda played it when I was little but I had no clue what was going on. Might have to revisit. How does one go about obtaining old games? gog.com?

Oh man, I remember my little kid brain breaking from Myst

generally gog is probably your best bet, they're pretty good about getting older games running on new windowses
i mean if you luck out it might run anyway, but who knows

Definitely. Or even better, just do it together with some nice music and conversation. But in my opinion, if your guest cooks for you then there should be no need for the guest to even play that game - just clean up. You are the host, in most cases I would argue you should cook and clean, but I understand that to be a bit of an antiquated notion and people are all about equality out whatever nowadays.

Braid. A million times Braid.
@owb Cheer up buddy! Life gets better, positive thoughts breeds positive behavior!!! Clubs are pretty bad if you don't feel comfortable approaching women with minimal conversation. I actually really enjoy clubs but only if 1) I'm bringing a girl with me to dance all night 2) there is a banging dj/artist that I can jam to (I enjoy dancing even if it's just by myself) 3) You don't care about getting shot down a million times. I was in joburg with some buddies of mine at this casino and there was a small club. I approached, no lie, EVERY girl there. I was shot down by EVERY single one. This 45 year old crack addicted woman actually LITERALLY shot me down making a gun with her hand. But it was still a lot of fun. Me and my buddies just laughed at how ridiculous it was that I was getting turned down by everyone. Although there was one girl who I think was into me. She let me dance with her a bit and even let me teach her how to swing dance, but she was Indian and there with her brothers and they kept making her leave me lol.
Just keep your head up homie, we're all here for ya and all been in the depths. Eventually you'll be in an environment where you can approach women in a much more sensible setting. Hell, even Alaric gets mad biddy attention despite not actually recognizing when they might be interested and being skinnier than a baguette.

I look back to years past, a striking memory forced to surface. "No..." I thought, "it won't happen again..."

What's that sounds? That's the sound of the plow truck passing by my house again, trying to keep up with this hellacious winter. I hope it never stops. <3

It's always Touhou with you.

Yeah that tends to happen when I'm listening to a touhou arranges playlist. Although it's still more varied than KLK.

Quantum Conundrum is sorta similar but more lighthearted. Both of them are in the vein of First Person puzzle solving.
Braid and FEZ I would say fit the bill. Thomas Was Alone is more of a platformer, but fucking everyone should play it anyway. There's enough problem solving in there that it might scratch the itch.
Adventure Game is a broad category though, could you give an example?

I gave Myst as an example, which I may do anyways since have very nebulous memories of so I'm more invested in returning to that one Definitely going to review everyone's suggestions though.
