Pretty much every smartphone I've ever used has required at least one battery replacement in its lifetime (and it's almost certainly outside the 1 year warranty) before I replace the device entirely, and the cost of replacing the iPhone's battery while the device doesn't have better battery life in the first place seems ridiculous. So it forces you to either pay exuberant price, or get the new phone.
On October 28 2013 03:52 UniversalSnip wrote: Little weird to see people consider the upfront price on contracted phones meaningful. There are frequently carriers literally giving away nice phones if they can lock you into the inflated contract prices, and if you approach signing a contract as a loan for the amount you save up front the interest rates are incredibly bad.
The upshot is that the initial price of the phone basically doesn’t matter. They can and do vary them wildly and seemingly at random just to bring people in. Mobile contracts are same price whether or not you're locked in to um. so if you still need data plan for the next 2 years, might as well save 400-500 dollars off on your cell phone.

^its exorbitant, not exuberant.
But I have the same thinking, if you are going to get data might as well get the cheaper phone. Data is useful but expensive and I really feel like it should rollover.

Really the only phone plan I've ever been on that I didn't think was highway robbery was the plan I had when I lived in India.

That is incorrect, wei2. Sprint, Verizon, aoi (AT&T subsidiary), virgin and T mobile all have cheaper non contract prices.

Why don't you just look things up before you talk about them? I see you do this all the time.

I'm watching Turn2 to try and get more familiar with the game. Haven't played any real games, just grinding out games against the AI trying to get a feel of what I like.

And they also now glue in batteries into MacBooks so it's even harder to replace, forcing you to go to use their service and forking out lots of money.
At this point, buying Apple products is very much a case of buying the brand because the support for peripherals is appalling and designed to make you keep going back to them and forking out more money. Urgh. On the plus side, the products are well designed. But I just don't think it's worth the price tag and being locked into Apple permanently.

If you like playing wow play wow, I've had a subscription for 6 years and still play off and on. It's not like it's the devil or anything.

Even if you played 60 hours a week you still couldn't get the legendary cloak that's given to EVERYONE who raids. The game is so gated you can finish everything on Tuesday (assuming you play all day) and not have to log in again for a week.

Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? I thought raiding was supposed to be pretty good now.

The raids are quite fun, just repetitive as always. The problem is the cloak is such a big DPS/healing/tanking upgrade that you can't really be competitive in progressive raiding without it. It takes roughly 5 weeks of grinding to get the cloak. All while still doing LFRs, Flex, and Normals to get geared.
That being said, the game is a loot pinata. If you enjoy it go for it. The only reason I still have a sub is because my friends raid and when everything is on farm I get to get carried to full heroic purples each tier. It's a nice bonus.
