Also they announced a new Fire Emblem for the 3DS. I was a little worried that Awakening might be the last game in the franchise, but here we are.
Trailer for those, like me, who are interested.
Looks like we're Japanese now boys, no more Western medieval setting.
After misplaying a knife juggle (and losing to fatigue on my last draw with druid at 1hp ) I bought two packs and opened an Iron Juggernaught. Cool. Time to craft Boom though :D
Yeah I'm about 400 dust from a legendary craft myself. Debating between Boom, thalnos or Sneed.
Also I'm super pumped for fate draft in<2 weeks. Mordek we should totally do a fo funz draft of khans so I can practice and also cause it'd be fun to do MTG related stuff if anyone else wants to play.

Boom.
Sneeds is an ultra-greed legendary which is only truly potent if you're either running an Echo/Duplicate mage or in the heavy control matchups (vs Warrior/Handlock: can only be played after you know the Slyvanas has been burned, and silences vs Handlock). I run it in my anti-control priest deck because it's anti-control and wraps up the Warrior matchup, but honestly I feel I should replace Sneeds with a more impactful 8-drop, or downgrade to a Loatheb for mana efficiency and utility.
Thalnos is used in:
1) Most Rogue decklists 2) Freeze Mage 3) RARELY as a Druid or Shaman tech card 4) Maybe that OTK Warlock deck
And that's it. Priest, Warrior, Paladin, and Hunter don't use Thalnos flat out, and most Druid, Shaman, and Warlock decklists don't include him at all. In Druid/Shaman, they'd generally prefer to run Azures if they really want +spellpower/cycle cards (larger threats, which both Druid and Shaman value more), and don't need Thalnos with them (or don't have room for him).
Rogue decklists are generally the only ones that will run both x2 Azures AND Thalnos.
Boom, as I noted in the previous Boom vs. Slyvanas discussion, is pretty much an auto-include in most decks. There is a reason why every decklist is running at least x1 BGH (or SW:D) right now.

Awakening isn't really a successor to Genealogy in any way other than the inheritance mechanic. There are a lot of design choices made in Genealogy (non-shared inventory, larger maps where you can deploy everyone, smaller cast of characters where each class only gets 1-2 characters in it) that were not reproduced in any other game in the series.
Apart from archers, mages (and obviously pegasus knights) there's only 1-2 of each class in FE 7.

I mean, if you're getting that specific, Cavaliers/Lance Knights are the only class in FE4 you ever have more than one of at any point.
The total cast of characters is about the same, but the available characters at any given point is about half of any other FE due to the generation split/replacement characters that are mutually exclusive with their respective children characters.
Again, this is necessary due to the game being designed around deploying everyone, so the full cast has to be within reason.

They have feet now! \o/

Fire Emblem: Awakening was originally going to be the last in the series, but it did spectacularly well and the DLC was also good. So they're giving it another round, and I for one am totally psyched for it!

I will play my team of 3 Pegasus Knights and there's nothing you can do about it so there. Hmph.
