Fake it until you make it is an extremely powerful mentality. If you fake something well enough for long enough then eventually it becomes you. E.g. faking a smile makes you happier anyways even if you force the smile. Faking confidence/bravado makes you an ass but if you tone it down and get it right even if you're terrified on the inside eventually you'll have confidence. The real problem is why a product like that is necessary though. Which is basically because american culture sucks and it is infecting the rest of the world with its cancer. | ||

It differs a bit once you hit college - people tend to specialize more in the events they're good at. So someone who specializes in Rings will generally get huge in college, while someone who specializes more on high bar or p-bars will usually be taller/skinnier (because it provides better swing). Of course, there are some tanks who are good at floor and vault. The Army team (West Point) had a guy who was like my height, but probably weighed 250? Absolute monster of a guy. One home meet, he was on floor. First pass - double front. As he lands, you hear a ridiculous crunch. He destroyed his knee, but also broke our floor. He tried to keep going through his routine, but thankfully couldn't. He was out for a while after that one. | ||
