Just going to point out that in the vast majority of the arguments that get to this stage, you usually end up by yourself. If you think it's okay because this is an informal environment, and everybody else that bothers to engage in the discussion agrees with you, perhaps your misjudging the environment.
What do you mean on my own? Do you mean I always get the last word, that I'm the only one defending my side of the argument, or the same case but only one person defending the other side? In the first case, that's just a case of the other person giving up. That doesn't necessarily mean anything because I could just be more stubborn but you'd expect if the point is argued to its fullest it wouldn't matter who got the last word. In the second case, its a argumentative fallacy to assume that it means I'm wrong, and also to assume that I'm the only one who thinks as such. Since if I argue well enough there's no need to add anything else, or at least it might not be worth it. In the third case then I don't see the problem.
It's clearly the second. It's the equivalent of people chilling out at a party and 1 guy decided he wants to get absolutely shitfaced before showing up and being a general nuisance. Even Ketchup's defense of you boils down to the equivalency of "He's cool when he's not hammered."
Please do not twist up my words. That's not at all what my post was about.

Personality screening/typing bothers me. I don't think it's inherently possible to group people into specific categories like MBTI unless you're willing to ignore a lot of the dualities in people's personalities. People will also often change tracks/attitudes depending on their situations/feelings. I had to do one for a class of mine last year and I didn't feel it accurately portrayed my personality at all. Now I kind of want to try and dig it up so I can elaborate and see if people would agree but I have no idea where it is.
I think you're understanding of the system is limited to only that experience. The tests suck. I typed completely opposite in college from what I am after reading a few books. It can be limited by the test questions and also by other influences. You can answer questions dishonestly or answer it more of what you'd like to be.
It merely provides a framework for understanding people. People are different but we all have tendencies. It doesn't limit people to just that one type, you use all 8 polarities all the time but you have defaults. You need to give it a fair shot and do some reading and introspection.
If the tests suck and other influences come into play then how is it possible to get any sort of accurate tendency or default type?
I'll give an example here. The E<--->I typing. I can say that some of the time I prefer to be on my own where it's quiet, playing video games and whatnot. I don't remember what the specific qualities listed to an introvert are, but safe to say that would type me as one, no?
The problem is there are other times where the last thing I want to do is be in the house by myself, I'd rather be the center of attention, having fun in a large group setting. Sometimes I feel like I just have to get out and DO stuff. I can talk way too much and often can put my foot in my mouth. Those are considered extrovert qualities. The question then becomes, how can I type myself specifically as one of those? Do I simply look in which area I spend more time? Because either way then it doesn't feel like an accurate representation of my personality because it misses out on large parts of what makes me ME.
You apparently have a better understanding of how MBTI is supposed to work so can you explain in greater detail?

Like I said it's more about tendencies. I'm in introvert but as my friends can attest there are times I'm the biggest, loudest goofball in public and I'm ok with that. However, I spend a weekend with friends and by Sunday I'm ready to get out of there ASAP and recharge alone. It's not that I resent her, I just don't get it - I don't find her funny or entertaining at all. Evidently she has a fan base, but I don't watch it because I find 0 entertainment in it.
If your issue with her is that she perpetuates trolling and that is bad for the community then you are really fucking bad at getting your point across
? All of my points still stand. It bothers me that her stream is as popular as it is. She does bug me (in the sense that her stream bugs me - I obviously have no idea what she's like as a person). I don't find her entertaining.
My opinion was disagreed with, so I elaborated why I think it's embarrassing to the gaming community. I'm not sure what you're expecting of me.
Self-righteous much? As to why you're bad at getting your point across, it took you 3 posts to start explaining why you consider her an absolute embarassment, before that you just called her annoying/not entertaining, making you look stupid.
I didn't actually realize it was going to turn into a full-fledged argument/discussion, so it took me a bit to back up my opinion. I didn't mean to come across as self-righteous, but you escalated the mood of the discussion to something more seemingly angry than I did. Was "absolute embarrassment" a bit of hyperbole? Sure, I could have kept it toned down a bit, but it's not far off from how I feel about it.

Could you elaborate what you mean by trolling.
Sure! At least, I can try to convey it from what I've come across. I'll preface it with the fact that I haven't watched nearly as much of her as I'm assuming you guys have - these are basically first impression things.
I mean, I'll take it from the most obvious thing (which is prevalent here) - there is the camp of people who are "in on it" (the viewers that like her and enjoying the "trolling" nature of it) and the camp of people who don't get it and are effectively the "trollees". The community itself about the stream probably bothers me more than the content of her stream. It's all done to get a rise out of a segment of people. And I suppose that is also a mechanic of satire, but I find this to lean more towards trolling rather than pure satire.
I know that during one of the few times I've watched, she did something really poorly, chat erupted, and she said something to the effect of "guys, I'm a serious girl gamer" etc etc. My RL friends also enjoy her stream and frequently post clips or quote her in skype chat, and they're all to the same effect - highly sarcastic comments meant to get a rise out of people (or to entertain people, for those that are her fans).
Again, I see it more as blatant trolling than satire - I don't see it achieving anything, it's creating an idea of "oh whatever, I can have fun and do whatever I want as long as I can convince people (or myself) it's ok because I'm just doing it jokingly", which then reverberates and gets echoed and copied elsewhere in the community.
If you mean "she is a satirist" then it's actually borderline fascist to argue against her right to be one.
Well that's a little extreme, I've never argued against her right to stream however she wants. When I said "I hate that it's a thing", I meant "I hate that there's enough support behind it for it to be popular" not "grr I wish I could shut this down because I disagree with it".
if you mean she ruins games or whatever thats I mean its arguable but the fact that she is consistent is enough for me to think its okay.
I haven't watched enough to actually know if/how she ruins games and the consistency behind it. As a general rule, I dislike people that dick around in ranked games just for fun because ranked should be tryhard (that's kinda the point, isn't it?).
Gonna address a few other points you made in a longer post without quoting cuz I'm lazy:
@why the hyperbole didn't apply - I said scip was being defensive because he escalated the tone of the argument, not because he simply disagreed with me. I quoted and bolded it before, so you know what I was addressing. Judging from later comments you've made with Req, you didn't see his comment as unusual, so it may have just gone unnoticed by you. Comparing my opinion of kaceytron's stream and the question of black rights seems a bit silly and over the top.
@:
What I mean is if everyone held sonivs opinion we could get twitch to bar kaceytrons stream, because everyone would agree that it is a bad thing for gaming.
As I said above, I'm not advocating for a shut down of her stream, that would be dumb. I do wish that the gaming community was more mature, but that seems a bit of a pipe dream lol

This makes a great deal more sense to me---I think in general (as can be seen by the hundreds of inane personality surveys on FB---'Which deep-sea dwelling bacterium are YOU?') people do assume that these should be accurate descriptions of their personalities as a whole. As long as it's understood that they should be a tool rather than an all-encompassing typing then I can definitely see their worth and use.
